Feeling Like a Fantasy

Happy Saturday! I have a couple of goodies to show you. SL weekends are stuffed with sales events. There are tons of items at heavily reduced prices. I don’t roleplay in Second life but I do like a lot of the clothing and “magical” items. One of my go-to sales for those genres is $30L Saturday. There is a good mix of items so everyone is likely to find something they “need”. So, today I decided to do something a little different.

How This Happened

Reviewing the sales gallery the first item that caught my eye was a splendid scepter (I admit I thought it was a staff!). Simply Shelby creations are well made and sometimes a bit on the fantastical side. I love this one! The Maleficent Scepter Set comes with three colors: rose red, moss green, & mystical purple. The set includes both scripted with flicker & ribbon effects and non-scripted glow versions. An ad states it was “magically created from mystical fairy flower pods”. A tip about the store: The sales items often stay out for several days longer and you can slap a few MM boards while you’re there (NGN).

I needed something to wear that would show off my scepter. The stunningly textured Wild Rose Top & Maxi Skirt on sale at God Mod, a fairly new to me store, fit the bill. It looks so comfy I want a set in RL too. Note: Blue is the only color on sale.

Another Year Over, A New Ones Just Begun…

Hey Faboos!

I can’t believe that another year has gone by.  And covid is still as prevalent as it was when it started.  Ugh.  I hope 2022 will be the year we all say enough already and do whatever has to be done to take our lives back from this virus!

I know things will never be the same as they were pre-covid, but maybe it has brought some positive into our lives too.  Like appreciating day to day things we took for granted, friends, family, hugs, shopping!  Even appreciating just getting up in the morning and feeling *good*.  Perhaps it came to teach us to shift our perspective and be grateful for all the little wonderful things, as simple as waking up to a new day (some people don’t, and one day, you won’t either).

It makes me think of one of my favorite movies Dead Poets Society.  Mr. Keating (Robin Williams) tells his class to seize the day, make your life extraordinary while you can.  The powerful play goes on and YOU get to contribute a verse.  What will your verse be?  Let 2022 be the year we all live in state of gratitude, seizing the day with those we love and contributing our powerful verse.  What legacy do you hope your life will create?

Where was I?

I got a bit sidetracked there.  The turning of a new year always makes my thoughts get deeper than they normally are (and that’s saying something!!!).

A New Year Right Around the Corner

I’ve also got some fun New Year’s Deco for you.  My 2022 numbers are the final Advent Day from Simply Shelby.  In fact the final advent day gives you an entire New Year’s Eve Prep Kit that I think is pretty darn nifty!  Even though the advent is past, you can still grab them all for only 10L.  As of this posting they are all still available.

I also headed over to the Okinawa Holiday Event where they are lots of free gifts to grab, with no group needed.  I found this adorable hair flower Free by Ayame and I absolutely love having my own New Year’s Ball which is 75L at Ever Green.  Really it is made that you wear it and you can walk around on it, which is lots of fun, but for the photo I needed to stand still, so.  But I love it for decor, it turns and it changes all sorts of beautiful iridescent-y colors!  Really gorgeous!

There are just so many freebies and goodies around the grid right now, my head is just spinning!

Vintage Me!

Hey gang!

I’m all about the vintage/retro stuff.  Those of us old enough (cough!) to remember those days know they had a feel.  The 70’s had a feel, the 80’s had a feel.  Somehow once the 90’s started, the era’s started blending together (for me at least), they didn’t have *such* a distinction as the earlier decades (I’m barely old enough to remember the 60’s, but I know that and the 50’s, 40’s, etc also had a feel of their own).

So in my pic, I’ve got a bit of the sixties *and* seventies (can you distinguish?), thanks to the Vintage Fair!  Which is a lot of fun by the way.

The Awesome Shirt

This is screaming 77-79 to me.  Back in the day I had these sorts of shirts with band names on them (The Police for one.)  This is made by The Annex at The Vintage Fair, there are several different designs for you to choose from and they will set you back only 50L.    It fits:

The Stay Wild Moon Child Poster by InkMe is from a gacha that is only 50L at The Vintage Fair.  Not sure the era on that one but as you saw in my previous post, I love all things celestial, so …. gimme!

Little April Shower – Walt Disney’s Bambi

The best thing about April showers is that they help make everything bloom green and bright.  I do love a cozy rainy day and because I grew up in a place that has a lot of thunderstorms, I especially love a good thunder and lightning storm.    Where I live now, we rarely have them and I do miss them.  A good rainy, stormy day can be very cozy and a chance to snuggle in with a good book and something hot to drink.  However, where I live now, we can get a good 7-10 days with grey skies, no sun and and no fun storms.  Boo!  I do not like *that* kind of grey weather.

If it’s Gonna Rain…

If it’s gonna rain, it’s best to be prepared.  As a one time Girl Scout (I hated it.  lol  I was the only one who had a mom who made her wear the *entire* uniform to every meeting!), I was taught to be prepared.  As a FabFree Blogger, I am taught to be fashionable without breaking the bank.  Case in point, these super adorbs boots from MOoH!.  These are from a 50L Gacha (Key below) which has soooo many cute boots.  I chose the Shabby Chic to go with my outfit.

Umbrella!  Mine comes from LISP Bazaar for only 10L on marketplace!  It has a series of poses with a texture change umbrella for each!  The poses are all adorable.
