Luncheon on the Grass

If you’re an art history nerd, you may have gotten the reference in my title. Yes, this post is inspired by one of my favourite paintings in art history, Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe, translated to Luncheon on the Grass painted by Édouard Manet. As much as I studied this painting in school, I never thought I would (unknowingly) create a photo in SL that looks a bit like it! Of course, I need some 19th-Century men in the photo too, and I’m not posing in the nude, but it’s still a classic art history tradition to show people eating a picnic on the grass. I am having my picnic solo today, but I definitely have enough food to share around!

Oh yeah, I need to get to freebies now and stop ranting about art history. The first gift seen in my picnic shot are the classy Marilena Shoes. Little Black Dress

We can NEVER have enough little black dresses, can we?! I was very excited when I found this shop and their Group Gifts wall! Yes, they have previous gifts available! The MAAI Group is FREE TO JOIN with some rather delightful Free Group Gifts, which are all made for Maitreya Only. Lucky for me I’m a Maitreya Girl! Snagging the Morado Dress and the Stockings from their shop I ran quickly to change in the dressing room before snapping a few shots outside for you to see the adorableness of this dress!

Hello hello Fab Free’rs! Thanks for being here. I’m excited to share more of the fantastic gifts available at FaMeshed and the coveted TRUTH group gift for the month of November.  Since I have several things I want to tell you about, I’ll keep this part short and sweet. TRUTH the Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth

Several days ago TRUTH sent out the group gift for November. Though it was a little late coming, the gift was well worth the wait. It’s also worth the one time join fee of 350 linden for the TRUTH VIP group. Each month a new group gift is sent out through the TRUTH VIP group. This long style is called Ginevra, and it is a fatpack. In addition to all the color huds, there are 2 versions of the hairstyle; One with the headband and one without. The gift also contains a style hud for both versions that lets you pick between 4 style variations, and 2 bang syles.  Additionally you can adjust for larger chest sizes. Needless to say, if you haven’t joined the TRUTH VIP group yet, you should!

Completely FaMeshed

Now, you may recall I showed the FaMeshed gift from Vinyl in my last post. Now I’ve picked 3 more to share with you. First, the top and matching pants are the FREE group gift at FaMeshed from COCO. I love the little details of this set, like the un-tucked side of the tank top.  You could also wear the top or pants separately.

Next up, the snowflake earrings by RealEvil Industries are gorgeous. You’ll find them FREE (just wear your FaMeshed tag) under the Christmas Tree at FaMeshed. There’s nothing about them I don’t like. They even have the added detail of looking like real earrings in the back. The little gold snowflakes with the diamond chip in the center are beautiful on. They are the sort of jewelry that can be worn with casual attire as well as formal.

Finally, I think the FREE necklace gift from Cae at FaMeshed is so cute for the holiday season. The gift includes a short and a long version of the same necklace. I wore both in the photo to show the difference in the lengths. The necklaces are sizable and include a hud for changing the metal of the jewelry, the color of the gemstone, and the wording on the little medallion. The medallion can say either “Naughty” or “Nice” I think I’m a bit of both, so I chose to wear one of each!

A Primary Pairing

Good morning Fabulouses!  BlackRose Fashion, usually puts out one group gift per month, but this month there are two of them!  I haven’t even had a chance to try on the first one yet which is a floral printed dress, but when this sweet 2pc set came up as a second group gift, I jumped right in it.  The bright primary colours just screamed at me to wear them… and so I did.

A Wise New Year

Happy New Year! Okay… so I’m running a little late in my New Year wishes to all of you Fabulous Readers, but the good news is, I have treats for you! Woooo!

The Cart Sale is going strong, and you still have some time to pick up those deals! I stopped by today and found two carts that I just had to share! Daisy’s Closet was a total win for me, as I picked up this Sinful Outfit in green for only 10L. Your little tiny sum of 10L gets you the tank top, skirt, and the shoes in one package and comes in mesh in all the standards sizes as well as Slink, Belleza, and Maitreya fits, and the shoes fit Slink feet! That’s a lot of outfit for your money!

To me, the outfit has a bit of a retro feel to it, and when I saw the retro art deco framed set called Sweet Dreams on the Wise Walls Cart right next to it, I knew I had to have it! Like my outfit, the decor was a mere 10L, and it is also a mere 2 prim as well! The art is not copy, but for 10L, if you want extra copies, it’s easy on the wallet.

I wanted to make sure you had some close ups of my goodies! If you haven’t stopped by Jian and hit their subscribo lately, be sure to jump over there and give it a slap. They recently sent out this lovely wine set (only 1 prim!) FREE to group members as a New Year’s gift. Orange you glad you like Facebook

So, I was barely finished my first blog post when Love IM’s me to tell me about the new Trompe Loeil  Facebook like gift. I love this idea of stores giving out gifts just for liking their Facebook page because it is just so easy to do! All you need to do is head to their Facebook page [HERE], like their page (if you haven’t already) and just under their cover photo is a link titled ‘Only For Likers’. Click on that, and it will take you to a page that gives you a code. Then, in world, TP to Trompe Loeil , and just inside the entrance is a board which you click on and then enter the code you were given. Et voila! You have not one, but TWO beautiful skyboxes, just for liking their Facebook page! The Chatham Loft Skyboxes come in  a light version, and a dark version, and my photos do not do them justice, you must go see them in person. However, you better hurry, this is a time sensitive offer, only available until May 18.

Now, while the skyboxes easily speak for themselves, I couldn’t resist showing off the new [Gos] group gift. These bright orange shoes are called the Charlotte Mary Jane Pumps in Tangerine. I don’t know about you, but bright colours always make me happy, and these shoes just make me grin from ear to ear! The shoes are free, but the [Gos] group is L$500 to join, but as you get a pair of shoes out of it immediately, that is a heck of a deal, and so far this year there have been a few gifts that have more than made up for the join fee.

Not wanting to be overwhelmed by orange, I went searching on the Marketplace for jewelery that would contrast, and it was my lucky day, because I found the beautiful  **RE**  LUX Celeste – Set was still on the Marketplace. This is such a gorgeous set that it has already been featured on FabFree by several blogger’s over the past year, so, in case you missed it from previous mentions, it’s still free! Hard to beat that. The metal is texture changeable on 2 layers so you can mix and match the metals to your heart’s content.

Finally, not to be overshadowed by everything else…is my eyeshadow (see what I did there :P) and lipstick makeup layer from [mock] Cosmetics. It is called Bella Burnt Toast, and it is one of four free gifts currently in their group notice’s.
