We Wish you a Puppy Christmas and a Woofy New Year

Hey gang!

I don’t know about y’all but I’ve just about run myself ragged!  My little holiday helpers and I have been hard at work putting up the tree and decorations as well as the usual chores like laundry and cleaning before the holiday!  We are all pooped.  Why, even the little man can’t stifle a big yawn!  (and one of the pups found some nice toasty laundry fresh out of the dryer for his nap!)

It’s been a super busy weekend, so it’s time for a little nap for the pups and some chill time for me.  There will still be plenty to do before the holiday, like wrap gifts and bake Christmas cookies, etc etc!  So I need to rest up too, so let’s talk about the goodies I have for you and then I can maybe grab a quick nap too! (any room left in that toasty laundry???)

Have yourself a Little Puppy Christmas…

So, its not a *new* group gift per se, but it was so fun to pull out of my archives this year and it is still available, and that’s my santa hat from Jian, which of course, in Jian style, is not without some cute!  It’s got a sleeping puppy in it!  Sooooo Squeeeee-able!  For the cat people out there, the gift also comes with a kitten version.

HEXtraordinary, not to be outdone in the cuteness department, have an adorbs set of dachshunds for us, 50L each.  They are animesh, some are sporting super cute Christmas sweaters and antlers, there are wanderers, companions….  This is for Secret Sale Sunday, *today* so hurry over if you fancy yourself a very cute weenie pup!  I love their little wagging tails!  I’m showing the non Christmas Cream colored one, snuggled next to me.

For the Practical Minded (not usually me  lol)

Careless, whom we have blogged before has their entire line of furniture totally free at Communal Bliss.  I’m showcasing one of the pink sofas, behind me.  They are all so well made, with great animations, and for free you can’t beat the price.  Each set comes with loads of color choices and styles.  I do confess I scooped them *all* up so I can change my decor at will!  All the items are free and there is no group needed.

Lastly, but not leastly, one more (sort of) practical item, my shoes.  It has taken me near the entire month to get these but I finally got one of the Rare Shoes by Pure Poison at The Arcade.   They are 50L a play.  Yes, even the non rare ones are cute.  😉

Hey gang!

We have a lot of fun here on the Fab Free Blog, but today I would like to get serious for a moment.

We know cancer is evil (I refuse to capitalize it), and that anyone can get it, even our beloved fur legged babies.  But did you know cancer is the leading cause of death in dogs?   It is estimated that 1 in 3 domestic dogs will develop cancer, which is the same incidence of cancer among humans.

So when I popped over to Foxwood for something totally unrelated, I saw the story of Ellie, who belongs to the girl who runs Foxwood.  Ellie is her Golden Retriever and Ellie has cancer.  I have lost two out of three of my Goldens to cancer, as well as my beloved Shih Tzu, Tara.  So I know the story all too well, and it is an issue that is very close to home for me.  I never had the chance to help my babies, but Ellie has a chance to fight and we can help her.

The three goldens in my photo, are a set that you can get at Foxwoods for only 75L (they are adorable too!!!  I love the one I can carry around and I’ve had three people say they wanted one too when they saw me carrying her!) and all proceeds go to help Ellie.  We all love the sales and we love the cute sl pets, this is a chance to enjoy both while helping a real pet have a chance at fighting the evil known as cancer.  (I have lost both my parents to it as well).

I’m not sure how long the sale is up for, I reached out but haven’t heard back.  I checked a little while ago and it is still up.

I hope each and every one of you will stop by Foxwood for this cause.  Cancer *can* be beaten, for both humans and our furbabies!

In just ten days Tara will be gone five years and my heart still breaks every single day (and someday Jian will make us a cute set of Shih Tzus so that I can have her with me at least in second life) (I keep requesting it!).  Her and Sumner (my Golden boy I lost to cancer) are pictured below.  I never got to have human kids, and honestly I raised these two from babies and I couldnt have loved them more if they had been human.  They were my kids.

These are the faces of canine cancer, the ones we must fight for.

Sumner (above) lost to Hemangiosarcoma at the age of 9 on 8.29.2004

Tara aka Tee (below) lost to Lymphoma of the intestines at the age of 12 on 11.25.2016

Before and After

Cheerio gang!

This post is not your typical before and after.  Oh gosh I *do* love me a before and after, you know when they do makeovers?  It is one of my fondest wishes to one day get a makeover by professionals.  Alas.  But I love a makeover, it’s always so exciting to see what changes they make and how awesome whomever or whatever they were working on came out!

This is kind of a reverse before and after to showcase the awesome goodies I got at the Arcade Event, courtesy of Pare’.  Now, if you want to get all the juicy details of how the new system at the arcade works, I spelled it all out in my previous post here.  With that out of the way, let’s get on to the fun stuff, the goodies!  The machine for Pare’ is called Night Crawlers and is 75L a play and I had to come back on subsequent days to get both the outfits I was lucky enough to grab.  The above was the pink, which I love.  The below photo shows the Halloween version which I was lucky enough to get on my second day try.  I was originally going to just blog the pink one, but when I got the Halloween one as well, I couldn’t resist combining the two.

So, what exactly do I call my before and after?  The first photo, above, is before the Zombie Apocalypse, the second photo before is, well, after, obviously, and our brave heroine can tell she has become outnumbered and she is about to become Zombie herself.  Notice how she is biting her lip in distress?  So she has gone from geek chic to zombie hunter.

As I stated in my previous post, you choose the size you want to play for in the machine and I chose Maitreya Lara as that is what I wear.

Lessons learned by our lovely heroine… a gun works better than an axe when fighting zombies.  Unfortunately.

Sharing a Snack

There’s not much more I love in this world than puppies and horses.  Seriously, I could leave nearly all the human race behind and be on an island of puppies and horses, I would be one happy chickie!  Honestly, I talk more to animals, plants and inanimate objects than I do to other people most of the time!

Unlike at Edi’s place, I think it may literally be raining cats and dogs at my house!

I stumbled down the stairs this morning to make coffee, only to find Finnoula staring out the front door at the strangest sight. My neighbor’s Corgi puppies had gotten loose (again) and were sitting on my porch curiously watching two kittens slumbering away in my new boots. It was all very sweet and surreal… until Finn’s protective nature got the better of her and she started to bark, setting off a chain reaction of puppy yapping, scared-kitty screeching, fur flying… what a way to start the morning! 😯

Cuteness Overload

JIAN makes some of the cutest animals on the grid, and I was delighted to receive these sweet kitten-booties as the latest group gift.
