A New Look @ Paper.Sparrow

Paper.Sparrow just gave their store a facelift and it looks fab. They have a whole bunch of new designs and everything looks so stylish! They also have a few gifts out for their VIP group members and one free gift for everyone. The Paper.Sparrow group currently costs 150L to join. The VIP group gifts I am showing are:

• The Mooh Claire Set, which includes a top, skirt, and panties in 3 patterns: black, white and mooh print. You can change each part of the set to the 3 textures to customize it. It fits Lara, Isis, Freya, Hourglass & Legacy.
• The Year of the Rabbit canvas print is a newer group gift and it’s so cute! It put me in the mood for tea.

Finally, the Free Dove canvas print is a free gift for everyone to honor the life and memory of  Palomma Casanova of Free Dove. It’s a really beautiful tribute!

Care For a Cuppa?

Speaking of tea, Noveny has this great pot and mugs set out as their latest group gift. Their group currently costs 30L to join. The set is technically a coffee pot with coffee mugs, but it could pass for tea for my little tea party scene. It’s super cute and elegant! I love that it is black- my favourite colour.

Among The Fields Of Gold

By now you’ve heard about the passing of Palomma Casanova, maybe from Aline’s post here. I did not know her personally or ever speak to her, to my recollection. I can’t claim any personal grief or loss. But that isn’t to say that I’m not affected because really all of SL is affected. The Free Dove was an institution in Second Life for over 18 years. It was always around as a place to send new players or even veterans that needed to spruce up their avatars for free. In that way, The Free Dove and FabFree had the same mission. It was strange shopping at The Free Dove for this post, knowing that it’s creator is no longer with us and that it might be the last time I’m there before the doors close for good.

I picked up a few items and went to a pretty sim of sunflowers that I found on Palomma’s profile picks, that it appears she owned as well. The free items that I’m wearing from The Free Dove are:

• Free sweater dress by Satus Inc in sizes for Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Maitreya, Slink (Hourglass and Physique), TMP, and fitmesh sizes XS-XL
• Free hair by Faga with a style HUD including all the colors
• Free boots by Shoe-Ddiction sized for Freya, Hourglass, Isis, Maitreya, Physique, and Venus

To get these pieces for yourself you just need to be in The Free Dove group (it’s free to join). Then head over to The Free Dove to get the things that I’m wearing and so much more, all for free. There’s no word on how long the sim will remain so you’ll want to make the trip sooner rather than later.

Thank you Palomma, for your amazing contribution to the SL community. I have a feeling that The Free Dove and you will be remember and talked about long after the sim disappears.

Goodbye, Palomma.

A bit of sad news this evening, FabFree.  Palomma Casanova, owner of The Free Dove, succumbed to a long illness on January 14th.  She was a very kind, generous person and will be sorely missed inworld.  In the next few days, I’m going to be posting a few items that I picked up at The Free Dove to honour her memory.  She would have liked everyone to enjoy the gifts while they are still there.

The plan for the store is that it will just disappear, though there is no set date.

Please join me in thanking Palomma for her service to the community for over 17 years, and for making The Free Dove a really special place.

Scary Good Gifts at BUNDLES

Hello Fabbies! Today I am bringing you more fun gifts from the BUNDLES Seasonal Autumn Event “Starry Nights of Fall”. There have already been two posts for this month about the event so be sure to go check them out here:

For my post I decided to go a little spooky. The glowing eyed Cat Totems in the back are a gift at the event from the LOVE Superstore. They are modify/transfer so I scattered them around in the background. They are also only 1 Li, which is awesome!

My dress is also a gift at the event from GGVG. I am wearing it in a lovely shade of pink, but the included HUD gives 10 color choices. The dress fits the following bodies:

Dressed Up from The Free Dove

The Free Dove, as most of you probably already know (since its been blogged numerous times here), has been around for nearly 18 years. It is the SLife’s work of ⒹoⓋє (palomma.casanova) and she has poured her heart and soul into it. You must join the group and wear the tag, it’s free to join, and once you do then you can click on all the gifts that you want on the bottom floor of the venue.

For this post I decided to get dressed there. Don’t worry, I kept clothes on…but as I shopped I picked up things I wanted to share with you and worked to coordinate them together to see how much of a look I could create. Please note there are loads of other awesome items too that I could have continued with but did not want to totally overwhelm you.

• The first thing is this pretty little black dress from REED. Aline blogged it back in February of 2021 in the animal print, so go check out her styling too! The dress is fit for Freya, Hourglass, Isis, Maitreya Physique and Venus bodies. The HUD allows you to change it between 6 prints/colors.
• REED also has the heels I’m wearing. They also are fit for Freya, Hourglass, Isis, Maitreya Physique and Venus bodies and have 6 colors on the HUD.

There are four other free things to show you still. I had to accessorize this look, of course.

• One more item set from REED is the jewelry. My bracelet, necklace (and hiding earrings) are all available in one box and are unrigged and resizeable.
• Next, my hair is a gift from FAGA. It comes in large and small, has 4 style choices on the HUD and 82 colors! There are more customization options on the HUD, too. Caroline wore it in another color back in August of last year.
• Finally for my makeup: my nails are a gift from GO! Makeup fit for Belleza, Legacy, Maitreya, Signature Alice and Slink. The HUD gives 8 nail polishes to wear. And my lipstick is a sampler from Shiny Stuffs with 3 red colors. They are for Lelutka Evo & Evo X only.
