Rest in Peace, My Baby Boy

Ok FabFree… this post is about to get emotional. In this post, I will be talking about loss and grief so be prepared for that before reading.  Last month, I lost my beloved furbaby in real life. It was heartbreaking for me, as I had an incredibly special and close bond with my cat. It really broke me in half, but I have been working through my grief.  Apparently, there have been a lot of people in SL lately who have lost their cats and other pets in recent times. For those of you out there who may be going through this, just know you are not alone. I will never forget him as long as I live in both worlds and I will love him until the day I die.

Little Angels

The incredible creator Dalriada Delwood of MOoH! created a set of  “ghost” kitties for those of us who have lost our cats. I thought it was so beautiful that MOoH! came out with these, as it is a lovely little reminder of my beloved little guy who I can carry with me around SL. My Autumn Gallery

Welcome To The Fall Showing

Fall is my favourite decorating season. I put up a little autumn gallery made up of art I picked up at the Fall Festival, a fall-themed event that is running until October 1st at Malus Park. On Me

• My outfit is a free lucky board prize at Shanti. No group join is required to play the boards. This prize is called the “Upside Down Bohemian Outfit”. This is a Stranger Things reference for all the fans of the popular supernatural 80’s-era Netflix series. The set includes a top and skirt which can be worn separately. Gargoyle Queen

Hey fabbies,

I’ve been delving into the world of geneology in my real life.  Fascinating stuff, really.  Especially for a girl who was adopted and never knew her heritage growing up.  Turns out I am mostly British, Irish and Scottish (DNA), which may explain my love of castles.  Speaking of castles, check out my new buddy.  He may look scary but he is really just one of those gargoyles from Notre Dame voiced by Jason Alexander (You know, George from Seinfeld).  He says “Ooh La La“.  Still, you don’t meet a guy like him every day.

Heya faboos!

Been hearing some horrible stories about war crimes being committed by the Russian armies and it just saddens me so much, how cruel we humans can be to one another.  We are supposed to be the most intelligent advanced species on the planet, but tell me, what other species is cruel to one another? Makes me question how intelligent and advanced we truly are.  So today I have donned my peace hat and am holding a light up in prayer, hoping for these atrocities to end.  It is the innocent who suffer in a war, and that is so wrong.

Meanwhile I’ve been working on this a bit longer than I would like, I’ve been under the weather but spent much of the last few days snuggled with the little man (Rocky, my Chi) and sleeping/watching tv and I have a bit more energy so I am tackling this again.

Whimsical Sunday Stroll

Hey faboo gang!

It’s a rainy day here in my real life world, a day to crank up those fairy lights and delve into some fun second life fashion!

I love to find designers who are *not* on the big designer list and introduce them to everyone.  There are a helluva lot of good designers out there that you never hear about and who don’t even get a chance because they are overshadowed by those designers you *do* hear about every day!  I like to share these “mom and pop” designers, the small businesses of the grid to show them some support.

This time around I have found a cute place called It’s Me.  They have some freebies and dollarbies, but my eye caught this outfit which was still only 29L, I love the funky pattern on the overalls. It also comes with cute sneakers to match (not shown). This cute set which has both the top and the pants fits:

Remember, You Can Tune a Piano But…

Now the pose and the piano come from Le Poppycock, where a lot of us have been stalking lately, because she literally has a room of Next Up machines to play with more cute and fun poses than you can shake a stick at! (pictures herself standing in the room shaking a stick at the machines but finally giving up)  The machines are all 75L or less a play (this one is 75L) and one of my very favorite things about these poses is that you can use them anywhere, because you wear the prop and it poses you, so you do not have to rez them! Crazy Cat Lady or Non-Morning Person?

Heya Faboos!

I swear I am not the crazy cat lady y’all have been hearing about!  I swear, I’m really just not a morning person and I needed to put the cat out! (was he on fire??)  Just me trudging downstairs to let the foolish little felines out for the day, lest they meow me to death!  Meow, meow silly, meow meow!

And why does meow starts to look like it’s spelled wrong if you keep looking at it?

A Walk in the Secret Garden

Hey gang!

Far be it from me to pass up a trip to a place filled with Next Up machines.  Especially when they are loaded with irresistible cuteness.  So yes, I’ve been recently obsessed with the Secret Garden this month.

Case in Point, Mooh.

You can collect up an entire outfit in these, all mix and match, and each one adorbs in the Mooh machines at The Secret Garden.  I’ve got the entire key below, but they’ve gotcha covered right from your head (headphones!) down to your toes (shoes!).  At only 50L a play, I had a blast trying for the colors I wanted!  All the parts are especially made for Maitreya.

The Luck of the Draw!

Ladies, it’s Confessions with Desi.  I miss Gachas.  I loved me a good Gacha event back in the day (like last year).  But, the rules changed and now we have Next Up machines.  I will admit that I am kind of a fan of them, as I am wasting a lot less money on  stuff I don’t want, but I am not standing around for days hoping someone pulls the stuff I don’t like so I can get what I do.  It’s an odd joy when I show up to a machine and there are back to back prizes that I really like.  Such was the case at the Evil Bunny Productions “Up for Grabs” Next Up Event.  The event runs until February 28th.

I picked up the free gifts at some of the vendors and then looked over the machines.  There were some cute things I really wanted, but, alas, they weren’t the next up items…they weren’t even on the board yet…so I will have to wait for a Next Up Yardsale.  But, then….THEN…I got to the Fatal Fashion machine!  Waiting for my 50L pull was this adorable little dress and the next item was, luckily, the matching panties!

How lucky!!!  I quickly scored these two fine articles of virtual bliss for 50L each before someone else jumped in to steal my pull (I mean, that’s never actually ever happened anywhere, but there is a real fear).  I love this cute little outfit!!!

Hey Gang!

Yeah I’m starting off with a bad snow joke, and that’s snow joke!  So Jacx was talking about a snowball fight the other day in her post and I’ve decided to take her up on her offer.  I’m not sure she knows what she has gotten herself into though.  I am *very* competitive!  I also have the same set of poses from Fashiowl from Shop & Hop (free), so I am armed and ready to go too!  (I can’t throw snowballs without arms, you know!)

I’ve put together an eclectic combo of an outfit for the fight, me and cold aren’t the best of buddies (despite my Elsa obsession!), and so whatever I can throw together that keeps me warmest, gosh-darnit, that’s what I’m gonna wear when it’s cold!

Freebies, Freebies and More Freebies! (and maybe a couple of great deals for good measure!)

I’m sure most of you are familiar with the free mesh heads from Lelutka this past week, I have the *worst* luck trying to get into crowded places like that and I feel like I am always the last to grab anything that there is a big rush for.  Nonetheless, I am sporting the brand spankin’ new Kaya head which is a free group gift (free group join) from Lelutka.  (There’s one for the guys as well!)  My skin is also a freebie, it is a group gift from Koonz.  Their group is free to join.

Usually I use my own shape, but I really liked the free shape for Kaya by Wren’s Nest.  It is a free group gift and the group is temporarily free to join.  Her shapes are really nice.

This awesome Santa style jacket is from Gabriel and you can get it for men and women both at their store for only 50L.  It’s super warm for snowball fights too!  For women this fits Maitreya and Legacy.  It does come with the option of a shirt underneath too.

I am absolutely enamored with my fluffy boots, they are from Gild at The Arcade.  They have all the colors you can wish for of fur boots and the machine is 50L a play.  They have them for both men and women.

Finally, my hair and hat is a Fifty Lindens Friday pick from Wasabi, I just checked and she still has it up, but not sure how long it will be up for!
