Hey FabFree! With all the events and Hops and shops and hunts going on, I decided to send some of my “associates” out to gather up some of the goodies. So today, ya’ll get Alistar showing off a couple of thefree giftsfrom the Valentines Day Shop & Hop.
This is the ‘Aito’ short sleeved hoodie from GothiCatz. You’ll get the black and a sort of red/pink heather color tops each with the anatomical heart on them. Perfect for guys to have hearts for Valentines but still look ‘not girly’. 😉

Next from the Shop & Hop is the cute heart pose from DPSP poses. While this is labeled the “male” pose heart it could easily be unisex. The female pose comes in an identical heart prop but she’s posed in the center. It would be easy to move the hearts together if you wanted two Avis pose on the “same” prop for a really cute couple’s picture. Both hearts are, of course, freeto everyone.
Alistar’s new hair style is also afree gift but not from the Shop & Hop. He’s wearing the ‘Neil’ style from Vango and you can pick it up as a freepast Group gift. Just wear your free to join Group tag and collect it and several other gifts. ‘Neil’ comes with a HUD of classic colors and a tinting page so you can make just about any color you desire.
Hey FabFam! Like I told you Monday night, I’m back with a post for the 54 Holiday Event from LeLutka but this time it’s Alistar’s turn for a makover. Ms Starla introduced you to her Vinny and I was so happy to see another guy for FabFree. Gabe gets lonely ya know. And I was shocked at how different he looks from the 2 styles I worked up for Alistar! It really goes to show how a little creativity and some excellent shapes and skins can make a whole new “person”!
So let’s jump in with Alistar. First up, I kept the right-out-of-the-box shape and brow shape for Quinn. It’s a good shape, not too big and not too small. I felt that the included skin made the model look much older than what I’m used to seeing. But even that is a good thing really. We need more diverse looks across the Grid. I decided to go with the skin from Avarosa for my version of Quinn.
The aptly named skin “Quinn” comes in six shades both with and without brows as well as it’s own head and brow shapes. I needed the Neck Fade Fixes from Bold & Beauty I mentioned yesterday to get a great match with my current body skin. Remember, those fixees are packaged in the “Nicholas” gift’ I was a bit disappointed that no designer offered matching body skins with the gifts. Hey, I can dream! 😉
Alistar’s snazzy hat is from Vango. “Nate” comes with the attached hair and a helpful alpha layer for the top of your head. You also get a HUD for 20 shades of hair and 6 colors for the hat. Plus it’s tintable!
Since there is a more limited number of gifts for the guys, I decided to show one more look. And believe me, there where plenty of other shapes and skins and hair to show! Look #2 is using the shape, also named “Quinn” from Stray Dog. I really liked this shape too. It’s much larger than the first and a bit more bulky. But if that’s your style, here’s your guy. Again, I felt the skin included was not quite my thing even though it’s a phenomenal design. It’s incredibly life like! So you may fall in love.
I added the T5 skin from Bold & Beauty to my new shape and I couldn’t be happier! Bold & Beauty‘s “Nicholas” is a gorgeous skin (and a great shape too). It comes in 6 shades with 3 versions each of dark brows, light brows and no brows. Alistar is wearing the T5 shade with light brows.
The new short hair is from Modulus so you know it’s quality! The “Lenny” hair base comes in 8 colors to choose from. If that isn’t enough, it’s tintable too.
So there you have it, a dashing guy for absolutely free! If any of the designers for the 54 Holiday Event happen to read this… THANK YOU for an awesome event! Ya’ll rawk!

Hey Guys and Gals, it’s Monday so that means our next installment of “MakeOver Monday” is on the air. Or on the web… or whatever. First I want to say a big THANKS to Karl Jacob who gave me the tip that Altamura had a new free avatar gift at the eBento Event! I popped over and grabbed the male gift “TakeMYWay”. And I may have done a little happy dance when I saw it was BoM ready! Then I got it set up and I was SO much happier with this avatar. Right out of the box he is miles ahead of poor “Robert”. The shape is nicer and the face is so much less “I’m gonna cut you” angry. He also comes with his own skin and since he’s BoM ready I won’t have any trouble finding more skins and tattoos, etc. for him.
But for every step forward… Unfortunately, “TakeMYWay” does not come with a body HUD of any sort. So we are stuck using alpha layers for clothes. Which (in my opinion) is extremely inconvenient. So many mesh clothes don’t even come with alpha layers anymore. So there is that. It’s almost a deal breaker for me. Your mileage may vary.
So, moving on. As you recall we were going to talk about hair today. Again, this was soooo much easier for Kerydwyn. But I found three styles for each of them but there are more out there. Let’s look at the Ladies first. I also changed, Kerydwyn’s skin to show some of the basic BoM skins you already have in your inventory. Just look under the ‘Clothing’ folder. You’ll also find some hair there too. Some of it, is rather nice, especially the newer mesh avatar’s hair.
Fist is Firelight. The group is freeto join and they offer many gifts and several lucky chairs. The best thing is they offer a gift card for 250L to new avatars ( 30 days old or less ) and unlike some gift cards this one is enough to buy a regular hair completely. This is the “Monica” one of the past group gifts available. I’m showing the “Anna” skin from the Inventory too.
Next is “Leela” Hair from Analog Dog. When you hit the landing point, just walk to your left all the way to the ‘coast’ where you’ll see a big glowing ball. Click it and get a selection of free hair. I’m showing the “Kimberly” skin here once again, in your inventory.
Last we have “Tsarina” from A&A. This is the free group gift for the Fabulously Free Group. Of course, FabFree is freeto join.
For Alistar, the selection was a bit more challenging. Free hair for the guys is few and far between but it is out there. Having said this, I think this is where I would get off the free ride and lay out some Lindens. The group for N0_Match is 50L and with that you get monthly gifts for BOTH men and women ( Usually a Unisex style) and you get access to literally dozens of past gifts with many many male styles. 50L is literally 0.21 cents USD… I can find that in the couch cushions… ( A note here… yes, it’s 21cents but the minimum amount you can buy is $2.50… so I’d have to check under my car seats too.) If you’re set on free, do check out the mesh hair in your inventory. The ‘Brandon’, ‘Johnny’ and ‘Wyatt’ hairs aren’t bad.
So first here is “Mike” from Sintiklia. The Group is free to join and there are loads of Group Gifts to pick up. And don’t forget to check the ladies hair as well. Lots of styles are aimed at women but are more unisex.
Modulus’s “Cole”. You can get it on the MarketPlace or in-store and you get the entire Fatpack of colors. This is an extremely well made hair. And the fact that’s free is just icing on the cake.
Lastly is one of those hairs sold as a ladies style but I think it works as unisex. I found “yume” from ASO on the MarketPlace and there doesn’t appear to be an in-world store. Again, this was the result of a “Free Hair” search on the MarketPlace.
Okay, that’s going to do it for today. I thought I’d get to Inventory control today but I’m thinking that actually needs it’s own post. SO until next week, my dears!

In all honesty little moments like this one are my favorite part of the holidays. I find the most joy in things like wrapping presents, and cozying up with my love to watch Christmas movies.
