Welcome back to the blog Fab Free’rs. For this post I’ve got some January group gifts to share with you that have me feelin’ foxy. Maai and MINIMAL both have free group gifts for the month of January that you will not want to miss. Keep reading for the details and more of my banter.
Maai
Yes, that little fox pun was absolutely intended. I do think there’s sometimes a stigma around being an adult and wearing cutely patterned or styled clothing. I however don’t particularly care for them. I love the little fox faces on this slip of a dress from Maai. Truth be told when I put this dress on I got that Jimi Hendrix song stuck in my mind. “…And you know, you’re a sweet little lovemaker, Foxy…”

MINIMAL
I’ve picked up several of the MINIMAL group gifts in the past, but I think this January group gift backdrop is my favorite. It has such a feeling to it that I’m not sure how to describe. It’s simple enough to serve as a setting for just about any sort of scene, and has the right feel for something modern romantic or old-world fantasy.
The MINIMAL group has a join fee of 250 linden, and there are past group gifts available as well as this January 2021 group gift.
Sometimes I am pretty certain I enjoy the fantasy version of cold weather much more than the reality of cold weather. As a southern girl I find I am just not cut out for all that a white winter entails. Virtual winter however is an entirely different story. I love the beautiful winter settings and the ever falling snow. I also love the excuse to have an extensive winter wardrobe. Beautiful Dirty Rich has out this cozy cropped sweater group gift, and my earrings and necklace are a stunning jewelry set gift by Cae at FaMESHed. Beautiful Dirty Rich
I’m a sucker for a pretty sweater. This cropped cable-knit sweater by Beautiful Dirty Rich is free for store group members. Right now the B.D.R. group is free to join. The sweater is their latest group gift, and there are several previous group gifts still available. This fuzzy little sweater comes in quite a few sizes, and has a color change hud with 30 solid color choices. The hud will also allow you to custom tint the sweater. Honestly, it was hard to pick which color to wear!
There are tons of free gifts at FaMESHed this round. To get them, you’ll need to join the FaMESHed event group, which is free to join. That said, the earrings and necklace I am wearing are together the free gift by Cae at FaMESHed. I love the classic look of this jewelry set, and all of the customization options. The jewelry has resize scripts for easy fitting, and a color change hud with 6 metal choices, and 15 choices for the gemstones.

Hello There Fab Free’rs! Once again I’m feeling very in the spooky spirit of the season. I a few more of the many many many Halloween Shop & Hop gifts. I created this almost pretty possessed look using the gift skin from YS&YS, the gift dress from Luas, and the septum piercing gift from RAWR!. I really hope you have some fun with these freebies.
YS&YS
I can’t help but love this free skin from YS&YS at the Halloween Shop & Hop event. Even with her scarred face, she’s still a pretty chick. This would be such a fun skin to create a story around. This free gift includes BOM layer full skins, face only BOM layers. There are also variations to suit Genus, Lelutka, and Catwa heads. There are also two pairs of BOM layer eyes, the “blind” eyes shown and a creepy cool black pair.
This skeleton print dress is the free gift at the Halloween Shop & Hop by Luas. The “Donna” dress comes in a full fatpack with lots of HUD based color choices. Even with the exposed shoulders the dress has an almost cozy look to it that makes it a cool addition to any fall wardrobe.
Lastly, the planchette septum piercing from RAWR! was just the added touch this look needed. It’s also free at the Halloween Shop & Hop event. Included with the piercing is a color change HUD that gives you several options for the metal ring and the planchette part of the piercing.
Anyone who tells you Time Travel is a science, and not an artform, is a scoundrel. It is and must be both. You need to be able to finesse your way through multiple realities and get the calculations correct. For now, I’m going to slice through the curtain of time and get myself out of this Jurassic nightmare before one of these giant prehistoric lizards decides I might be a delicious meal. Safe travels my fellow voyagers.
The Engine Room
Purely by happenstance I visited the Engine Room event. Lo and behold, it’s an Anniversary round! You guessed it, that means free gifts. Lots and lots of amazing free gifts. The theme is steampunk and the gifts are free with the Second Life Syndicate group tag. The group is free to join. I got all of them, and would have loved to show all of them to you, but that would just be tedious for everyone. Instead, I put together my Time Traveler look using the Engine Room gifts from Eudora3D, Apricot Paws, Wicca’s Originals, Deadly Nightshade, and Lux Aeterna.

Eudora3D
I think this hat from Eudora3D is possibly one of the coolest hats I’ve ever owned, and it’s absolutely free. The Witch Hunter hat is incredibly detailed. It comes with a hud that lets you change the metal parts gold or silver, and adjust the position and size of the hat. You’ll find this freebie waiting for you at the Engine Room event. Don’t forget the Second Life Syndicate tag.
Apricot Paws
My very Victorian-like blouse by Apricot Paws is also free at the Engine Room. It fits beautifully and I love the subtle pinstripes. This shirt comes in a tucked and a not tucked version for multiple wear options. This gift also has a hud that lets you adjust the color of the bow, the buttons, and metal bits.
The Havoc Mask is the freeEngine Room Anniversary gift by Wicca’s Originals. This super cool accessory is unisex in that it comes in a male sizes as well as a female size. The details are awesome, and it fit me perfectly, however there are resize scripts in the masks.
Deadly Nightshade
I think this clockwork mechanism halo piece by Deadly Nightshade is so cool. Not only does it look cool with all the great details, it also has moving parts. The pieces attach separately so that they move independent of each other. That also means they can be worn all together or separately. This freeEngine Room gift was the initial inspiration for creating a Time Traveling character.
Lux Aeterna
The golden scalpel and scissors by Lux Aeterna together are the first Engine Room gift I unpacked and knew I had to do something with them. They are gorgeous aesthetically, and have a macabre element that I really like. They also have these really awesome bento hold poses, that are just icing on the cake. You’ll find them for free at the Engine Room. Again, don’t forget to join the free Second Life Syndicate group and wear the group tag to get the gifts.

I don’t think anyone really sets out to become a “Crazy Cat Lady.” I think it’s something that sort of claims you. From the first kitten/cat that enters your life, the seed of cat lady-ness (or in some cases, crazy cat guy-dom) germinates. I also think that from then on other cats know you’re now a “cat person” and they find you. Whether it be a stray kitten meowling for help in the parking lot where you work, or adoption ads from animal shelter pages on social media… they find you. Suddenly you find yourself in this situation, crouching on the floor with several of what you now refer to as your fur babies.
All the kitties aside, I do have some fantastic freebies to share with you. My top is a free group gift by UNA at the Itty Bitty Titty Committee event. My stylish bun is a freebie as well. It’s a free gift at SHEGO. Keep reading for details about both free finds, while I herd these silly cats into the kitchen for some food and water.
UNA
Yes, you read that right. There is an event titled Itty Bitty Titty Committee. It’s geared toward the recent influx of chest sizes choices with some of the female bodies. The important part here is that UNA has a free group gift at the event. This cute top is free to all UNA group members. There’s a group joiner at the IBTC event, and the UNA group is free to join. This top comes in quite a few sizes, and has a color/texture change hud with lots of options. There’s also a cool glowing UNA logo on the back of the shirt, and an optional glowing UNA pin that attaches on the front of the shirt.
Once again I’ve been doing some exploring in Second Life, and I’m glad I did. I came across a hair shop called SHEGO that has this ultra cute top bun for free. There’s no group needed, just purchase the hairstyle from the vendor for zero linden. This style comes with an Omega applier hair base, and a system layer hair base. The bun part of the style, and the side wisps are mesh.

If you haven’t made your way to Uber yet, I highly suggest you go. It’s so worth the trip for the genuinely fabulous free gifts during this anniversary round. For this post I’m sharing with you the freeUber gifts from Mossu, Carol G, MonCheri, and Tip2Toe. There is no group requirement for any of these gifts, just click the giftboxes or purchase them for zero linden.
My gorgeous lilac lace camisole is the freeUber gift from Mossu. I definitely had an “ooo” moment when I tried it on. It comes in the lovely lilac shade shown and a few sizes.
If you’ve been looking for an utterly feminine almost lace-like tattoo, look no further than the free gift from Carol G at Uber. This upper-body tattoo comes in BOM layers and several opacity options.
I really love the look of this simple yet elegant necklace by MonCheri, which is also free at Uber. It comes fitted for a few body types, and has a hud with a few more color choices than the usual metal colors. I even found a pretty metallic purple to match my top.
Lastly, I couldn’t resist the allure of the pretty purple mani/pedi appliers from Tip2Toe. They are of course free at Uber as well. The polish is a French tip style with nude and purple tip options.

I’m fairly fickle on the ideas of dreams and their meaning, though I admittedly spend a decent amount of time daydreaming and often have vivid dreams when I sleep. I suppose in a way we all get to live a dream we create here in Second Life. So here’s to all the dreamers out there, I hope only the good dreams come true. Only in Second Life would I dream of being this cute in a leather and lace bra and panty set. Leather does not generally scream “delicate underthings” to me, but it sure does look gorgeous. The set I have on is a free gift at CryBunBun aptly named “Mercy.” It comes in this “moon” black version shown, and a “sun” white. No group is needed for this cute freebie. It may however only be available for a limited time!
To go with my afore mentioned delicate underthings, I picked up an equally gorgeous necklace set at Supernatural. It was news to me that they have an entire wall of 75 linden fatpacks. The packs are mostly jewelry, however there are some accessories as well. I am wearing part of the Heidi set. This particular set comes in gold and silver, each with several jewel color choices. The sets have 3 necklaces that can be worn together. What I have on are 2 of the 3 in the silver and black set. I took a snap of the wall of 75 linden goodness at Supernatural. There’s so much to choose from, you’re bound to find something you like.
Mister Razzor
Finally, if you’re on the hunt for new ink, which I always am, Mister Razzor has three female tattoos for just 40 linden each. The tattoo I am wearing is a full body tattoo called “Bella.” This tattoo comes in Omega appliers and BOM/Classic System Layers. The BOM layers, and appliers give the option of full or 75% opacity. No group is needed for the 40 linden price.
