After years of hearing about “booty calls,” I finally get to make one! This one goes out all the freebie foragers reading Fab Free: The Hoorenbeek subscribo gifts have changed again and the items available are spectacular! Pictured above are the UNISEX gritty black Mesh Heritage boots, now available for FREE from Hoorenbeek. Using a system different from most subscribos, in order to obtain these great boots, you need to go and click to subscribe. Then, wait two weeks and go back to pick up your gifts. As you can see from the picture, these boots are worth the extra effort. They are black with realistic dirt stains, just like my boots in real life (except on Second Life you don’t need glue to apply the dirt – I like my real life clothes to look as realistic as I can possibly make them look). The gift contains 4 different variations of the Heritage boots: regular (with or without socks), tall and short. This is an impressive package for a free gift, and the boots themselves are very detailed and lifelike. If you are already in the Hoorenbeek subscribo, run to pick these boots up. If you aren’t, then now is the time to get your name in the system. Hoorenbeek gifts are almost always excellent.
I was excited to do The Biker Hunt and, in the process, I found some noteworthy boots. MayCreations’ gift for The Biker Hunt are the Mesh Hunter boots in grungy black, shown in the picture above. They feature finely textured black leather with silver accents, including thin studded decorative bands in the ankle area that give these boots a very distinctive look. I also love the sharply pointed toe. Although MayCreations doesn’t specifically mention them being Unisex, I imagine they would look fantastic on a female avy as well as a male one. The boots do have a resizer in them. Also, a great bonus to this gift is that it includes a slink male version for those who can use it. I am always snapping up slink items for when I can finally afford to add slink to my avy, so I find gifts like this especially exciting to pick up. The Biker Hunt is a 1L hunt that continues until July 20th, and the item you are looking for is a motorcycle headlamp.
If you haven’t had enough booty already, there’s one more store you should call on. The white leather boots shown in the picture are from Forsaken Falls, another hunt prize on The Biker Hunt. Their great pebbled-grain white leather texture looks intriguing and carries a black abstract design that I found hard to interpret. The markings on the Mesh Biker Boots seem to incorporate skulls and such, but they aren’t overly obvious. If this kind of style influences your clothing choices, then take a good look at the boots up close. They have a unique style to their texture that separates them from a lot of boots out there, and for a 1L hunt prize, they are definitely worth a good look. I was very pleased with them.
Finally, this week I want to highlight the photo prop I used in making this post. It was created by Mrs. B. Designs, who offers it as their prize in the Biker Hunt. The Easy Rider motorcycle is non-driveable, but looks great for photos and comes with a couple’s pose that I chose not to use this week simply because I was using the bike to display the boots. In the pictures this week, I tinted it slightly beige to simulate it being a bit dirty. If you collect photo props like I do, this is a very nice addition to your collection, I highly recommend it. Three different sets of fabulous boots in one week? Not bad for my first booty call, if I do say so myself! Until next time, see you on the grid!—–WHC Riler
