It’s Time for a Knotical Weekend Getaway

Hello Fabulouses, and Happy Friday!  I have a cute, casual outfit to share with you today.  One of the items is a Fifty Linden Friday offer, so if you want to pick it up for yourself, I’d suggest heading to the shop as soon as possible.

Feeling so Knotical

As soon as I saw the jaunty navy and white striped crop top from Valentina E., I knew it was destined for my inventory.  It has an adorable little twist in the bodice section that I had not seen before in a top.  Since it is a Fifty Linden Friday special offer, I only spent 50L for this cute little number.  It’s designed exclusively for the Maitreya mesh body, so it fit my avatar perfectly!  Since Ripley and I had plans to visit the beach at Maison de L’amitie, the nautical stripes echoed the sea-side theme of our day.

The Weekend’s In Sight

After a crazy busy week in RL for me, I’m really looking forward to a couple of days off.  My “Weekend” mini shorts from Kitchen Sink are aptly named!  Featuring a frayed denim edge, beautifully detailed stitching, and a curve hugging fit, these shorts complemented the dark navy stripes in my top.  The best part of all was these shorts are available at the KS shop on the Marketplace for only 10L – happy dance time!  The package includes Maitreya and Omega appliers, plus a clothing layer option for classic avatars.

Celebrating 100

Hello Fabulouses!  Today Ripley and I are celebrating 100 posts with Fabulously Free in SL by curling up in front of a window in one of our favorite places – the library.  It’s the perfect spot to sit and reminisce about the past 9 months of blogging for Fab Free.   Sharing my Fabulous Finds with you, and becoming part of the Fab Free family has been such a wonderful experience.  Thank you so much for reading my posts, and for being so encouraging and positive.  I am truly blessed, and look forward to writing many more blog posts to come!

A Marketplace Find

My summery top and skirt are a recent Marketplace discovery from the BarBarella store.  Priced at only 50L, this complete outfit, called Mona, is designed to fit both standard and mesh bodies alike.  The softly worn denim skirt features a delicate embroidered pattern on the back pockets which coordinates perfectly with the creamy hue of the tank top.  Ideal for a casual day spent exploring SL, this outfit is light and sweetly feminine.  The package also includes strappy sandals, which I didn’t wear for my picture.

Siren of the Sea

Happy Friday, Fabulouses!  After reading about the Flawless Sim’s Adventures in Babysitting, Ripley and I decided to give it a go.  This quest casts you in the role of a babysitter for two adventurous twins who wander off while shopping.  Your task is to try to locate the missing girls, and it seems that you are always just one step behind the troublesome duo.  During the quest, you wear a special HUD and visit 11 different stores on the sim, obtaining clues along the way.  When you successfully complete the mission, you are rewarded with 12 free gifts, one from each of the stores participating in the event, plus a bonus prize.  The only catch is that you have to complete the entire quest to receive the gifts.  It really wasn’t that hard…….we didn’t even need to rely on Ripley’s amazing nose.  The clues at each location gave pretty clear hints about where to go next.  You can pause the quest at any time, so you don’t have to complete it all in one sitting.

Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue

Normally, I sport a pair of deep chocolate eyes, but one of the free gifts in this hunt is a pair of startlingly blue peepers from Sinful Curves.  These eyes come in mesh as well as the classic version and have 3 variations of the white part of the eye to choose from:  average, bloodshot and bright.  I think they are simply stunning, with their clear, sparkling brilliance.   The pale hue lent a mysterious air to my magical mermaid.  ♫♪ Tune ♬ ♪

Always Be Yourself, Unless You Can Be a Mermaid…Then Always Be a Mermaid

At TempT, the pupster and I explored a magical underwater shop filled with fantastic skins and all things mer.  The free prize from this watery store was a deep, emerald green tail, which set the theme of my photo.  With a realistic looking scaly texture and a sweeping tail fin, you will be ready to play the role of siren, and lure sailors with your enchanting voice and music.  Although I don’t see myself dressing often as a mermaid, this outfit was definitely a fun way to change things up!

Catch of the Day

Hello Fabulouses!  I hauled in a great one today!  No, it’s not the fish (but he’s a beauty, don’t you think?)  My Fabulous Find is the best catch of all!  This adorable short set is a free group gift for members of the B&T Designs group at Bijou Couture.  My barely-there, bardot style, crop top coordinates perfectly with the patterned belt and back pockets of the Naomi shorts.  I just love the sweet rose pattern and the soft ruffles in the top and sleeves.  I’m sure to soak up plenty of the sun’s rays with my shoulders and tummy bare.  This outfit is ideal for a lazy warm spring or summer day.  You have to be a group member to reel in this charming short set, but the group is completely free to join.

This Pup Has Cast a Spell On Me

Hello Fabulouses!  There’s nothing like the companionship of a canine……always willing to lend a listening ear…..that tail wagging happily when you walk through the door.  I’m so thankful for my puppy pals!  Every day, they offer unconditional love, and teach me to live in the moment.

Yesterday, when I saw a group notice pop up about the new Spring Blue dress at Arcane Spellcaster, Ripley and I lived in the moment, and chose to detour over to the shop to pick up the lovely, free frock.  Featuring an ice blue top layer, and a deep, sky-blue skirt panel, this little number is packed with visual details such as the patterned, wrapped texture of the bodice panel which ends in a beaded fringe dangling down.  Its asymmetrical hemline, and slender shoulder straps emphasize your figure. Happy Middle-of-the-Week, Fabulouses!  This weekend, when Ripley and I were finishing up our holiday jaunt to Maison de L’amitie, a notice popped across my screen that I almost missed.  Lucky for me, my hound with a nose for fashion brought it to my attention.  I’m sure glad he did!  It featured this adorable mini dress from B SASSY.  With its feminine, floral print, side slit, and thin straps, this sexy little number will help you show off all your curves.  I really like the mesh trim that lines the dip of the bodice.  Best of all, Candi is completely free for members of the B SASSY group, which you can join for free.  As you enter the store, glance to your right, and the group gift giver is located on the floor next to the Candi Dress display.

A Spring Day at the Shore

Hello Fabulouses!  Ripley and I are enjoying our weekend get away to Maison de l’amitie!  We’ve been spending our days lazing on the beach, watching sailboats zigzag across the harbor, while seagulls circle overhead.  I could definitely get used to this!

I Like Vintage…..a Lot!

My worn and comfy vintage jeans capris today are a free gift for Third Life group members from the Red Room.  Although joining the Third Life group will set you back 10L, there are multiple gifts around the grid from a variety of designers for lucky group members, so it’s a worthwhile investment.  With a soft, faded denim that hugs every curve, rolled cuffs and a belted waistline, these pants are perfect for a casual day at the beach.  In addition to the gray-blue denim version, the capris also come with a texture change HUD for the fabric and belt, offering a range of possible combinations.  The gentle hue and frayed areas of the jeans complemented my white lace-trimmed Ivy cami from Pretty Please.  With a budget-friendly price tag of only 65L, this cute, feminine top is sure to become a summer time favorite.  I couldn’t resist scooping up the cami in several other pastel shades as well.  Together, these two vintage finds created the perfect outfit for a lovely spring day on the beach with my pal.

As the Easter Bunny completed his last minute deliveries, he paused and waved, twitching his cute little nose in our direction.  I couldn’t resist pointing him out to Ripley.  This adorable pose is perfect for alerting my pal to the E.B.’s presence, as well as for featuring the Bento hands that are part of my Maitreya Lara body.  For only 50L at the Reve Obscura Marketplace store, you’ll get the pose as well as an adorable mesh dog (in case you don’t have an ever-present canine companion like I do).  I love the way “Spring Day” reflects that special relationship between a girl and her BFF!

Leaving It All Behind

Happy Friday, Fabulouses!  After the hectic week I’ve had in RL, it’s time for a get away in SL.  I packed all the essentials (yes, Ripley, even your goodies!), and we loaded up the car with just a few pieces of luggage.  The small one on the left is packed to the brim with Ripley snacks, which made for a very happy pup, indeed.  We filled ‘er up, and headed over to Maison de l’amitie for the holiday weekend.
