Hello there, Fabulous Readers! Ripley and I decided to check out the Gingerbread Men and Hot Cocoa Hunt this week. One thing I love about this hunt is if you have time to invest in searching around for the hunt object, which is a gingerbread man, you can pick up some fabulous prizes for just one little Linden dollar each. If you are in a hurry, or if you just can’t locate the elusive cookie, you have the option to pay 25 Linden dollars and scoop up the prize.
Just Waiting for a Waltz to Begin
I guess I must have attending holiday parties on my mind, because our first discovery while hunting is this lovely formal frock from Georg Bellic Design. The Belle Gown hugs your curves, but has a wide, sweeping hemline to make it easy to glide gracefully across the dance floor. Its sleeveless design shows off your slender arms and its open back contrasts beautifully with the full coverage on the front. Elegant silvery feathers scattered across the background fabric provide a glimmering accent. The prize package includes styles for popular mesh body avatars as well as versions for classic avatars, so there is something for everyone. A coordinating men’s outfit is also tucked inside the package.
Sizes and Mesh Body Compatibility:
Classic Mesh in XXS, XS, S, M, and L (includes alpha layer)
Belleza Freya, Isis and Venus
Maitreya
Slink Hourglass and Physique
Tonic Curvy and Fine
We’re off to do some more exploring, and will return soon with another Fabulous Find. Until my next post, happy hunting!
Just a quick, 11th hour Valentine’s Day HELLO to you fabulous readers! I’m falling asleep at the keyboard, so I want to finish up before my head hits the keys, and you see a bunch of gibberish, LOL! Lots of great stuff here: my outfit is a special Valentine’s Day group gift from Paisley Daisy, but you only have until Saturday to pick it up. The bench, “Scrabble” game, and LOVE picture are all Marketplace cheapies from :: Follow US ::. My nerdy card is a gacha from Wimey, and my boxer bag (on the floor) is the Bag It! Pack It! Clutch It! Hunt gift from Earth’s. The stool is a group gift from [we’re CLOSED]; there is also a dark version in the box. Oh, and my book is a subscriber gift from Frogstar (check history).
I’m always thrilled when designers give group gifts for redheads, and these gorgeous skins are the Valentine’s Day gift from Glam Affair. I love them both, especially the freckled ginger on the left. 🙂 My necklace and earrings (which are hiding in my hair) are on sale for 10L at Baby Monkey; 4 metal colors are included in a HUD. This pretty charm bracelet is a group gift from Hudson’s Clothing Co., and my sweet, deer ring is a group gift from Fabuleux. So much cuteness!
Be sure to stop by A:S:S to pick up these V-Day nails. There’s also a HUD to make your toes purty. 🙂
Whew! No heads hit the keyboard in this post! 😉

Skin – Glam AffairValentine Skins Gift (group gift / 30L to join)
I’m an old-fashioned girl. And there’s nothing like a little anticipation to make that special moment a bit more… special. 🙂
When I saw this pose from brand-new pose store Positure Poses, I knew I wanted to find something sexy and unusual to show it off. So I was thrilled when Fairy Freng sent me her new gift – I love the sensual, wrapped skirt and the lovely, gold detailing. This gift is free to everyone – no group needed – in celebration of her new store opening. There is also a pretty pendant in the box, which I’m not wearing here. Instead, I’m wearing two new gifts from Chop Zuey Couture. The cuffs are a group gift, and the earrings are free to everyone. I’m sorry that I’m not doing the cuffs justice – they really are quite beautiful. I tried turning them around to show the stunning detail, but they just didn’t look right that way. You’ll have to head over to Chop Zuey and see for yourself!
I no longer make New Year’s resolutions. At the ripe old age that I am in RL, I’ve learned – usually the hard way – that just because the calendar ticks over to January 1st, that does not mean I’m ready to make any major life changes. If it did, my house would be clean and perfectly organized, I’d have the business credential I vowed to pursue, my book would be written, and I’d be about 15 lbs thinner. Instead, I get a few weeks of success, followed by months and months (sometimes years) of guilt.
That being said, I still take time at the beginning of every year to think long and hard about life. And when I come up with something that needs fixing – which I usually do – I make a promise to myself (yes, I know that sounds a lot like a resolution, but trust me, it comes with a lot less pressure). This year, my RL promise to myself is to “be in the present.” Simplistic? Yes. But simple? Not so much. To a gal with a full plate, including a business, a family, volunteer work, and SL, among other things, it is very difficult for me to just… be. To stop and smell the roses, so to speak. I’m always thinking about what I have to do next instead of what I’m doing, and I feel like life is moving so quickly that if I close my eyes for 2 seconds, I will have missed something important. I don’t want to wake up one day and find my daughter packing up her car for college, leaving me full of regret for having missed spending as much time with her as I wanted when she was young.
To quote Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Along those lines, the first major change I made in SL for 2014 was to get a new house and move into the sky. While I truly love the sim where I live, I’d really grown tired of strangers walking into my house – and staying – uninvited. So instead of moving away, I moved up. And while I’m waiting for the movers to bring my furniture, I’ve decided to sit and enjoy the quiet with my furry housemates.
Several items around me are worth mentioning: the lovely, lighted 2014 is the current group gift from ::Fabuleax::,and the vase of flowers behind it is a gift from JoHaDeZ. The packing box and books, as well as the elegant wine lights, are group gifts from tarte. Both my sandals and the cute tissue box on the book pile are Fifty Linden Friday sales items, which, as of this writing, were still on sale for 50L – probably not for much longer, though! The pretty picture on the mantel, as well as the adorable guinea pig are gacha items from ::Fabuleax::; I got lucky and managed to win 2 rares! The guinea pig comes with a cute holding pose, but he got loose, so I decided to let him play with Fiona. And finally, my house of cards was 5L on the Marketplace.
As for what I’m wearing, you can find it at B!ASTA as their New Year’s Resolution Hunt gift. I’m wearing it in honor of the many years in which I resolved to lose weight and exercise.* 😉
May you all have a wonderful 2014 – don’t forget to enjoy it!
* As a side note, last September 19th I “resolved” once again to lose weight and exercise, and I’ve lost 12 lbs as a result. Which just goes to prove that what matters is your determination, not the date on a calendar. 🙂

I’m an old-fashioned girl at heart. And yes, even a bit nostalgic at times. I love old-school Hollywood glitz and glamour, so you can bet that I’m loving the current round of Collabor88, where this month’s theme is “Raw Nostalgia.” Simple, yet complicated, but oh so romantic. 🙂
I had an “instant crush” on this dress from *{Junbug}* as soon as I saw it. As always, the textures are amazing, and the way the dress drapes across the body is so sensual. And if you think the front is gorgeous, you should see the booty (what I wouldn’t give for my RL booty to look that good)! 🙂 Available in 7 colors, this dress can be yours at the discounted price of 188L at Collabor88.
Ok, ok, I know that wasn’t free. But what you can find for free is this lovely skin from ::Bite&Claw::. Look for a small gift box near the front door of the store. Oh, and there’s a men’s skin included in the box. Also free is this jewelry set from Beloved, which includes a pretty necklace and earrings. I know you can’t see my earrings (sorry!), but they look like a dangly version of the necklace. And they’re free… I mentioned that, right? 😉
Most of the decor items you see here are by Lark, and are also available at Collabor88. Except for the music box, which is by *MishMish*. 🙂

I’m showing off a few more goodies from The Season’s Hunt. There are a few more days to participate – make sure you get this hunt in before its over – it’s a good one!
The beautiful fireplace in the photo below is from LISP and is a free TSH gift. It comes scripted with a few fire options. It sparks and smokes, quite naturally for a pixel fireplace!
The hair I am wearing can be found at fri.day and is called Apple. It comes with a few different hair colours and includes the hat. My New York Times Tribune Tribute T-Shirt came in both white and yellow is from Alphavillian. My cozy scarf from Tres Blah and my Flower Mouton Boots from +Mocha+. The pants I have previously blogged in the pastel colour – they can be found at The Magic Nook.
In need of a warm and cozy home? L2 Studio is giving away a whole house. It is a smaller sized house, however it is stretchable, so you can make it larger. The colours are rich and warm – perfect for fall. My photo really doesn’t do the house justice, you’ll have to go pick it up and see it for yourself!
Glitterati is offering the tree with pumpkin poses shown below as their TSH gift. It has a few different poses and corresponding pumpkins to hold.
