Perfectly Posh in Pearls

Glancing Back

Happy Saturday, wonderful readers!  This morning, Ripley and I started our weekend the way we always do… reading the Fabulously Free in SL blog.  While I was admiring Loki’s sensuous photo here, Ripley insistently nosed the Group Gift Listing link in the corner of the Fab Free web page.  Of course, with my pooch’s gift for finding fashion, I immediately followed his lead and discovered not one, but two, new, free, fabulous gifts for Fab Free group members that, in my mind, coordinate with each other spectacularly.

With a few quick teleports and clicks, I became the proud new owner of Posh Tale’s free, elegant Margot gown and Tiffany Designsfree back necklace.   The opulent sheen of the double stranded pearls contrasts beautifully with the subtle shimmer of the floor length, formal gown.  From the front, the necklace appears to be a traditional pearl strand, but from behind, it drapes beautifully and emphasizes the line of your back.  I love the way the dress leaves my shoulders bare to feel the caress of the moonlight.  The gown includes a HUD that allows you to select one of 16 colors, and comes in 5 sizes for classic avatars.  Although there was no applier for mesh bodies, I was able to wear the gown just fine by adjusting the alpha on my Maitreya Lara body.  After adding simple pearl studs from Caroline’s jewelry, and slipping on some black heels (more on these shoes in my blog post coming tomorrow), I accompanied Ripley to the outdoor ballroom at the Invictus sim.

Perfectly Posh

While the night breeze ruffled Ripley’s fur, we wandered around the grounds of this beautifully decorated sim, which is inspired by the poem of the same name by William Ernest Henley.  It’s a Linden Endowment for the Arts exhibit and is well worth exploring.  I discovered the Invictus sim by reading this blog post by Ziki Questi.  It has more in depth information if you are interested, and is enjoyable to read.  Periodically, falling stars blazed a trail across the purple and mauve streaked sky while we walked around.  Legend has it that if you wish upon a shooting star, your wish will come true.  Here’s hoping that all your wishes come true this weekend.  Until tomorrow, happy shopping!

The Wicked Witch of the South

The Wicked Witch of The South Hello There Fab Free’rs, thanks for coming by. It’s my favorite month of the year, and I decided to get a little witch-y with my style because why not?! When else can you get away with an over-sized witch hat as an accessory? In all honesty, the moment I put on this October subscriber group gift from BYRNE, I knew I wanted to wear a hat with it. I didn’t plan on a witch hat at first, but I’m quite pleased with the way things came together. Speaking of October group gifts, these adorable heels are the current group gift at Empire.  And of course I found an inexpensive lipstick by Stellar, that I couldn’t live without. I hope you like this spin on a classic witch look as much as I do!
Wicked Witch of The South Starting with the gift from BYRNE, my photos really do not do this mid-length dress justice. There are little details like the high neck, the full sleeves, and the buttons up the front that give the dress an elegant vintage feel. This group gift from BYRNE comes in the rust color shown and a blue color, both in several standard mesh sizes. Also included with this Fabulous FREE gift are a matching pair of goggles for each dress which are not shown in the photos. To add this lovely dress to your wardrobe, you’ll need to join the BYRNE Style group in world, and check the past notices. The group is FREE to join, and you’ll find a men’s gift as well!

I don’t think I could have picked a more darling pair of strapped heels to go with this dress. These lovely shoes are the October group gift at Empire. This gift is generous as always in that it includes shoes to fit Maitreya, Slink, TMP, and Belleza mesh feet. Also included is a color change hud that allows you to change each individual part of the shoes, from straps and buckles to sole. These shoes are FREE to all group members, simply join the Empire VIP group and wear your tag. The Empire VIP group has a one time join fee of 499 linden.

Finally, I cannot resist the final touch of a glittery nude lipstick from Stellar. This dollarbie applier gives a subtle shine and tint that is quite pretty and perfect for everyday wear. A fun Marketplace find by Stellar, the lip-color works with Lelutka mesh heads, Omega compatible heads, and includes a classic system layer for non-mesh avatars. Once again, I love the slight change makeup layers allow.

I genuinely hope you enjoy this look as much as I do! Here are the details.
