Nostalgia

Have you ever been nostalgic for something? Like the smell of an old bookstore or the sights and sounds of a record store. It’d be great to be able to just snap your finger and be instantly transported into a record store straight outta the movies. Like Championship Vinyl from High Fidelity, Trax from Pretty in Pink, Polymer Records from This is Spinal Tap, Motormouth Maybelle’s in Hairspray, Chelsea Drugstore from A Clockwork Orange, or Empire Records of Empire Records. I think it would be awesome to visit Trax. When I grab the Men Only Hunt gift from Ascend and saw the way the Rick Open button Blazer looked. It gave me them Duckie vibes.

I came up with a Duckie inspired outfit, decked out a record store in 80’s vibes, and put on some Otis Redding. Before you know it I was singing

Tis The Season

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it feels good to stop and take a moment to enjoy time spent together. Blue and I took a minute to do a little hunting at Roped Passions. Their Candy Cane Hunt (Jack Frost Path) prize is a his & hers matching set. The prize for the ladies is the red belted coat with matching hot-pants, while the prize for the gentlemen is a matching shirt and formal vest. The single hunt prize is just 3 lindens, and it includes both gifts.

Some days you just have to leave the beach and go to a party looking like a million bucks.  I’m not gonna lie, I wore this little outfit here to a club the other night and I got a whole bunch of compliments, and not a single person believed me when I said it was all FREE!  SCORE!

My lovely little cutout pink frilly dress is just to die for, don’t you think?  It’s by Scandalize and I got it for free by joining the Vanity Event group, which is currently free to join.  You can wear this pink number as a dress, like I have, or there is an option to wear it as a top and panty combination – perfect for the beach, I’d say.  Isn’t it pretty? Ooh, Sparkly!

I found some really pretty crystal-esque earrings to go with my look, and they were completely free as well!  I hopped over to Heth Haute Couture and bought them for 0L, no group join required.  I love the rainbow effect of the cut crystal, it just makes me happy.  Perfect for a special occasion, and perfect for catching that special someone’s eye!  Ha!  I’ve included the vendor pic below so you can see the details.

Guys, we’ve all been there… Hearing those magic words “I’ll be just 5 more minutes“. Translated into real time, that’s a minimum of 30 minutes.  I might as well find something to keep myself occupied while I wait.

Not blue…

My formal wear not only looks good but didn’t cost a lot. While hunting the All’stuff Hunt, I came across the Blue with Black Formal Tails, the FREE hunt prize at  69 Park Ave GQ. The suit Comes complete with the jacket, pants, shoes, tie pin, and a top hat and watch (both not shown) in sizes XS-XL

Finishing touches…

Giving You The Gold Shoulder ;-)

Happy Wednesday! In the spirit of the holidays, I planned to post something bright and colorful. However, wouldn’t you know it? I found something fantastic in black instead! Black is, of course, the official color of Men’s clothes in Second Life (a fact that I readily make fun of often). Sometimes, though, an item comes along too sharp-looking to be ignored, and this is one of those cases.

The Serious Shirt is this month’s free group gift from American Bazaar. It is a seriously handsome shirt combo, with the black shirt, tie and a nicely textured sweater all integrated into a sweet piece of Mesh! It is offered in Five sizes for an easy fit, and the black-on-black look and great style suits my taste to a tee. Well done, American Bazaar. Thank you for a fantastic free gift!

There is a Christmas tree at The Cosmopolitan Sales Room decorated with festive stockings which are filled with a variety of free gifts. Among them you will find the Fashion Shades from Yasum that I am wearing in the above picture. There are versions for both male and female avies. Plus, they come with a hud giving you a choice of six frame textures and four lens textures. These shades are quite stylish and the hud options make them versatile as well.

Last (but certainly not least!), there are several free gifts over at Swank Events. The one that really screamed, “Pick me up!” was a shoulder pet, of all things. I have never blogged a shoulder pet before so for it to catch my eye, you know it is something special. Heth Haute Couture has created Cosima The King of Couture – Shoulder Pet, a brilliant gold figure with bright diamond eyes. Highly detailed right down to the little crown, it is an impressive piece of work to be sure. I usually don’t wear shoulder pets. I doubt most guys do, but this is definitely eye catching and it could be just the right detail to finish off a fun outfit.
