Nostalgia

Have you ever been nostalgic for something? Like the smell of an old bookstore or the sights and sounds of a record store. It’d be great to be able to just snap your finger and be instantly transported into a record store straight outta the movies. Like Championship Vinyl from High Fidelity, Trax from Pretty in Pink, Polymer Records from This is Spinal Tap, Motormouth Maybelle’s in Hairspray, Chelsea Drugstore from A Clockwork Orange, or Empire Records of Empire Records. I think it would be awesome to visit Trax. When I grab the Men Only Hunt gift from Ascend and saw the way the Rick Open button Blazer looked. It gave me them Duckie vibes.

I came up with a Duckie inspired outfit, decked out a record store in 80’s vibes, and put on some Otis Redding. Before you know it I was singing

I’m not saying it was aliens, but it was aliens!

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing is going right and you think an alien abduction might be your best option?  This is the kind of day I had yesterday…  It was most definitely a Monday on a Tuesday (courtesy of the long weekend I suppose lol), and by 8PM, I was ready to strategically place myself in a field and wait for the little green men to take me away.  Here’s hoping today is less abrasive for one and all.

Fab Free Designer Friday -12/15/2017 – HelaMiyo

Happy Fri-Yay Fab Free! I’m glad you’re here because this week the Designer Friday post is all about HelaMiyo. Generally HelaMiyo is probably best known for their static poses. The shop also has hand fans complete with poses, couples poses, eyes, and hairstyles. Yes, you read that right hair. The HelaMiyo hairstyles are very stylized, much like a lot of their static poses. Most notably there are period hairstyles, which are great for costumes, role-play, and photographs. Speaking of photographs, at the landing point for HelaMiyo, you’ll find a room with a public photo studio that is FREE for everyone to utilize.

In the room with the public photo studio you’ll find several FREE or dollarbie poses for purchase. There is also a pose stand with poses that are also available as gifts in the center of the HelaMiyo store. This photo studio room at HelaMiyo is also where you’ll find the group gifts, and store info. The HelaMiyo group is FREE to join. Additionally, there are two gifts for other groups, one of which is the Fabulously Free in SL exclusive group gift. But I bet you don’t recall, the most frustrating reindeer of all. Meet Vexen.  He can be a bit annoying, but he truly means well. And he heard someone was looking for a reindeer to pull her sleigh. As long as she can put up with Vexen’s “personality quirks” , he will make a good driver of her winter carriage.
