If I had to choose a favorite skin shop in Second Life I’d without hesitation choose Essences as m personal favorite. There are lots of amazing skins in SL. Still, Essences has for many years been the source of the skins I wear the most. Recently Essences celebrated 10 years in Second Life. In celebration their in world VIP group and the Essences Newsletter group are both temporarily free to join. There are also 3 new fat-pack Newsletter group gift head appliers.
Each of the 3 Essences appliers is for a different mesh head. There is one for Catwa, one for Genus, and one for Lelutka heads. These free gifts come with a head applier in each of the available skin tones with a light brow, dark brow, or no brow option. Don’t have the body applier to go with these gorgeous new skins? No problem. The body appliers are just 1 linden per mesh body type. I’m wearing the “Sybil” gift applier for the Catwa heads in the above photo. This applier was made with the Catwa Catya head, however I think she’s quite pretty on my Catwa Koura head. To get your copy of these absolutely beautiful free gifts make your way to Essences, join the free-to-joinEssences Newsletter group, and click the gift vendors.

Hello hello Fab Free’rs! It’s time for another designer of the week post. This one is a little different in that we kind of get a two for one deal! The Mangula and E.Vary brands are created by the same designer. The E.Vary shop offers a range of skins, shapes, and cosmetic enhancements for female avatars along with a few mesh and applier clothing items. The Mangula shop offers unique clothing for female avatars. At both shops you’ll find some great gifts and of course shopping finds. The E.Vary shop is a bright and open shop, where the Mangula shop has a surreal cloud-like atmosphere. Both stores have similar information desk areas with info about the store group, social media, and associated groups and events. These shops also share an in world group, the * E.Vary * group will get you group gifts and notices for both the shops. Currently the group is free to join.
At the E. Vary shop there are several free group gifts consisting of female skins and cosmetics. You’ll need the group tag for these, however as I mentioned before, the group is free to join at this time. Over at the Mangula shop you’ll find several other group gifts such as the free Fabulously Free group gift. You’ll need your Fab Free group tag to get this cropped top gift at Mangula. The Fab Free group is always free to join. Each of the gifts in this area of the Mangula store require a specific group tag. Finally you’ll see a few gift boxes hanging out with a pair of star balloons. There’s no group needed for these free gifts however you will need to be a member of the store’s subscriber group. Click the gift, wait while it verifies your subscriber status, and once verified your free gift will be sent to you. Each of these freebies also appear to be ladies clothing. Happy Shopping Fab Free, and I hope you enjoy the up-coming weekend.
Hello hello Fab Free’rs! Real Life has got me away from my life in SL more than usual lately but today I have the fun of introducing this week’s Fab Free designer of the week, 7Deadly Skins. The 7Deadly Skins store is beautifully done and the landing point is as pretty as the skins the shop has to offer. Here you’ll find both male and female skins on multiple floors, and gifts for the guys as well as the ladies. Along with gifts there’s a sale currently going on, and you’ll find that 7Deadly Skins is participating in several events with opportunities to purchase their skins at event prices. As you enter the store you’ll find the group gift of the month for ladies and one for the gents behind the front desk. The 7Deadly Skins group has a one time join fee of 275 linden. Along with the monthly gifts, there are group only lucky boards, mini mania and more!
The top photo shows the current group gifts for 7Deadly Skins members. You’ll want to be sure to check out the events area for all the current and up-coming events and offers. Also toward the back of the shop you’ll find the group Mini Mania, Midnight Mania boards, and Lucky Letters. There are also two Mini Mania boards marked as “no group” so even non 7Deadly Skins Group members can get in on the fun. Last but never least, you’ll find the free and exclusive gift for Fabulously Free in SL group members waiting for you in one of the boxes under the Saturday Sale sign. Don’t forget to wear your Fab Free group tag for this one. If you’re not already a Fab Free group member, you should be! The Fab Free group is free to join. Happy shopping Fab Free’rs!
Fab Free!! The 7 Deadly Skins shop is celebrating their anniversary and wants to share the fun with you in a big way! For today only (I am assuming) the 7 Deadly Skins group is FREE to join. Also, just as the flier states, there are all kinds of Mini Mania boards and seriously inexpensive items, and even dollarbie gachas gachas. Do Not Miss Out! 7 Deadly Skins also does a male and female group gift every month, so gentlemen, you can get in on this too! Happy Shopping Fab Free’rs!
Sure, you could have a June wedding – but winter is coming. And for me there is something magical about the idea of a white wedding. And even if you aren’t planning a winter wedding… these gifts are too fabulous to pass up!
Right now if you stop by Tiffany Designs you can use your group tag to pick up this shimmering Jocey Bridal Gown in white for only 1L (the group is 50L to join). It includes Maitreya, TMP and Slink appliers as well as system layers for the body portion of the gown and though I’m usually a mesh-fan girl… this dress is perfect in flexi. Mesh could NOT have given this dress the ‘flow’ it needed with the glittering affect that the designer added into the flexi pieces, which are simply breathtakingly beautiful for your special day (or any formal dance really).
To add a little more sparkle to my Tiffany Design Jocey Bridal head piece, I hopped over to the Swank event, where I discovered that Zuri Rayna was giving away this lovely head piece in steel blue called Madeline. It is completely FREE, no group required. Just stop by the booth at Swank and pick it up!
And if that isn’t enough to convince you that all your second life dreams have come true, just check out this skin that Astrid is wearing? For me it was love at first sight! Who needs a groom? I love the soft freckles, the lovely shade of the lips, and the definition to the collarbones. And this Women’s Stuff Hunt gift from the Deluxe Body Factory was not only completely FREEbut also contained Slink and Omega body appliers plus additional Omega lipstick appliers!
Of course… what wedding would be complete without a honeymoon? And Tiffany Designs didn’t let me down. Be sure to stop by the front desk on your way out and pick up this sexy Sara Lingerie in green for FREE(no group required for this one). This lovely little number came with system layers as well as Maitreya and TMP appliers to complete your look.
I also topped off my evening look with this sultry long loop necklace I found on Marketplace by Miam Miam. It is only 10L and has 15 color change options (I am showing the green because it matched the lingerie). It’s a piece of jewelry I’m sure I will find myself wearing again and again with that kind of versatility!
Sim – Dreamland – Celestina’s Weddings – According to the Destination Guide: “Celestina’s Weddings has more than 21 venues to choose from to create a very romantic, magic and unique atmosphere for your special day. Explore with your partner or take a guided tour with one of the bilingual wedding planners.”
I am afraid I have to be the bearer of bad news… Alexandra Barcelos of Filthy Skins will be closing it’s doors soon and will no longer be selling skins as of December 5th. She plans to focus more on mesh designing. If you are a fan of Filthy Skins, make sure you head down to the store before then and check out the huge closing sale!
1. All newer skin packs are priced at 299L
2. Older skin packs are priced at 50L – (I am wearing Alexandra in the photo above, 50L)
3. The inworld group is closed to new members, but if you are a current member you can go in and pick up a box full of previous monthly group gifts – which is a fantastic gift if you have missed any or have joined recently!
Thank you very much for the beautiful skins Alexandra, and best of luck with your meshing!
Did somebody say Cupcakes?! Ok, I may not have a delightful little cake for you with icing but I still consider this a treat and just as sweet. I randomly popped into Cupcakes to take a look at some of their skins, and was beaconed by their Lucky Chair to have a seat. Who can resist a Lucky Chair?! Plus lady luck looked like she was on my side, because I was able to get my hands on two skins, for the magical cost of $free.99, and let me tell you, $free.99 is my favorite price point. So lets take a look at the goodies.
This first skin is called Emma, and I would say it looks sweeter than a cupcake. Its perfect for the change in seasons, as the sun tans begin to lighten up for the fall and winter. Oh, and those rosy cheeks should be able to weasel you out of trouble any day, the skin just looks so innocent even if you aren’t. However, if you want a little bit of drama, you can always add some lipstick and eyeshadows, since the skin has a really great neutral look.
The second skin, Kate, has more summer color left over and would be a great transition between your summer and winter skin.
As you may notice, there are some serious curves dipping and winding around this shape, and I love when I come across a mesh outfit that doesn’t hide much of those curves. So you could only imagine the heart stopping joy I experienced when I found these two outfits. How much you ask? Oh, only my favorite price of $free.99, they are group gifts offered from Liv-Glam at the Cosmopolitan Club and Lounge Mall. You have to join and wear the Cosmopolitan group tag to get the gifts inside Liv-Glam’s store.
The outfit that I am wearing with the Emma Skin is called, Members Gift 005 and comes with all the accessories except the shoes. Oh and fear not, those shoes are relatively free, you have to join Felicity’s group for $30Ls and you pretty much get 6 free shoes. Yes, you read correctly, 6 (S-I-X) free shoes. At the end of the day, adding that group is a long term investment.
As for the outfit with the Kate Skin, it is called Mariah Frill Dress and only comes with the dress, but who could turn down that sexy dress. It has an eye-catching pattern and rich red accents that should make you the hottest person on the sim.
At the end of the day, I rather take these Cupcakes over regular cupcakes… unless we’re talking Red Velvet Cupcakes.
… and lots of shapes and other gifts to collect at the skin/shape expo ’09! Renee and Shang have blogged the skin/shape expo before, so i had to check it out the minute i logged into SL… took of all my prims and tp’d there and got in at once! yay.. but omg the lag is tooo bad… but soo worth it!
All vendors have a few skins or shapes set up for charity. Which means that a certain % of the costs will go to charity. This time it’s all in honor of the Susan G. Komen foundation (breast cancer). Read more about Susan G Komen for the cure here: http://www.komen.org/. Grab yours and donate to charity!! For now i’m only showing the items i’ve found for free or almost free (1L) at the skin/shape expo below:
exodi – lily ‘frosted’ – four skin tones @ skin/shape expo ’09 – (1l or 0L)
bffae – antoinette (left) and audri (right)- (1l or 0L)
