Last year we started our Christmas project with a tiny but exceptional group of creators to join in on giving back to you, our vibrant second life community. This year we asked a more extensive group of very skillful individuals to participate. The response was no surprise; they were happy to share the love and spread kindness with all of you!

For this year’s Gift, we have made our usual one male and one female head (Quinn and Raven). These heads will be free for ALL of our group members from December 20th – December 30th (once this period is done, we will set them to our regular price). We are also offering a FatPack of our new leLAPEAU Skin – Elsa free of charge. While this will not make world events better, please allow us the opportunity to make this period a brighter one by spreading love and gratitude for you all.

LELUTKA GIFTS WILL NOT BE ON OUR MAIN SIM, as we want everyone to be able to shop for their favorite heads. But we have, however, reserved an event sim that will hold up to 150 avatars, so PLEASE don’t get impatient EVERYONE will get their chance to get gifts in the next ten days.

Hey Gang!

Yeah I’m starting off with a bad snow joke, and that’s snow joke!  So Jacx was talking about a snowball fight the other day in her post and I’ve decided to take her up on her offer.  I’m not sure she knows what she has gotten herself into though.  I am *very* competitive!  I also have the same set of poses from Fashiowl from Shop & Hop (free), so I am armed and ready to go too!  (I can’t throw snowballs without arms, you know!)

I’ve put together an eclectic combo of an outfit for the fight, me and cold aren’t the best of buddies (despite my Elsa obsession!), and so whatever I can throw together that keeps me warmest, gosh-darnit, that’s what I’m gonna wear when it’s cold!

I’m sure most of you are familiar with the free mesh heads from Lelutka this past week, I have the *worst* luck trying to get into crowded places like that and I feel like I am always the last to grab anything that there is a big rush for.  Nonetheless, I am sporting the brand spankin’ new Kaya head which is a free group gift (free group join) from Lelutka.  (There’s one for the guys as well!)  My skin is also a freebie, it is a group gift from Koonz.  Their group is free to join.

Usually I use my own shape, but I really liked the free shape for Kaya by Wren’s Nest.  It is a free group gift and the group is temporarily free to join.  Her shapes are really nice.

This awesome Santa style jacket is from Gabriel and you can get it for men and women both at their store for only 50L.  It’s super warm for snowball fights too!  For women this fits Maitreya and Legacy.  It does come with the option of a shirt underneath too.

I am absolutely enamored with my fluffy boots, they are from Gild at The Arcade.  They have all the colors you can wish for of fur boots and the machine is 50L a play.  They have them for both men and women.

Finally, my hair and hat is a Fifty Lindens Friday pick from Wasabi, I just checked and she still has it up, but not sure how long it will be up for!

So Kawaii!

Kawaii is the culture of all things cute in Japan, and I was obsessed with it as a tweenster so this outfit is taking me back to the days of the anime-loving geek that I was back then. This look is sooo Kawaii!

The goods

This adorable dress is available for 25 Linden on the Love Is All You Need Hunt. It’s called the Kawaii Love Corset and Skirt by Ari-Pari and it is indeed Kawaii.  The dress comes with a colour hud of different options for the corset and skirt. You can find it at Ari-Pari and the hint is: “Don’t put my love upon no shelf!”

As a side note, I paired this great dress with the cyberpunk boots at Candy Kitten. I just love these boots so I wanted to mention it. Bunnie mentioned they have a gift card out right now, so maybe you can use it to pay off part of these boots! Read all about that gift card in Bunnie’s post here.

Space Unicorn

The lipstick and eyeshadow I have on, which matches the outfit perfectly, is the free “Space Unicorn” makeup tester at Alaskametro. All of the makeup testers at this store are free and fully wearable in one colour, and most come with BOM fits which is what I am wearing.

Sinners & Saints

There are a bunch of 10 L gifts out at the Sinners & Saints event. I grabbed the new colour hud by EscalateD for only 10 Linden- this hud can be used on any of their hairs, some of which you can get for free at their main store. The colour hud has lovely pink, purple and red tones in the spirit of Valentine’s day. There is also a free hair tinter and free hair alphas at the EscalteD booth at the event.

A Valentine’s Skin Hunt!

There’s a Valentine’s hunt at 7 Deadly S[k]ins, which is free for everyone. You are looking for the little pink heart boxes. I am wearing the lotte skin right now, and it looks lovely. Gothic Valentines

Although I don’t dislike Valentine’s day, I just find the holiday kinda cheesy. Sure, I love going out with my beau, but all the hearts and chocolates and roses? Not really for me. As you may remember, I’m more of a Halloween kinda gal! I can still celebrate V-day in a darker gothic style if I want to this year, so I put together this gothic romantic look for V-day.

There are several love-themed hunts going this month, as I am sure you all were gleefully waiting for. Ari-Pari also has a host of Valentine’s hunt prizes available at their main store. After reading Arielle’s awesome post the other day about the gift card at Amui, I checked out the store. I discovered that Amui also has an outlet in their plaza. Izzie’s Does It Again

What makes this look “spooky” is the makeup, in my opinion. I rocked out some glitter eye makeup and smeared lipstick with the new, free BOM updates (#5) from Izzie’s. Just head over to the “Bom Updates V” sign. The package is loaded with BOM makeups, skins, tears and more designed for a variety of heads to be used with bakes on mesh, which is my go-to now.  Some of the makeups even work with heads they are not designed for; these are extremely high-quality items! These freebies are only available until February 8th, so make sure you scoop these up quickly before they go away and for sale again.

 LOGO Ivona

I paired the Izzie’s makeups up with the LOGO Ivona head, as Izzie’s designed several BOM makeups in the bundle mentioned above specifically for LOGO . I blogged about the monthly LOGO head deal last month, but I wanted to include more details about it and to clarify how this promotion works. Please note that this promotion is not an under 75L deal, I just wanted to give some information about these heads that are going on sale because several fab free readers inquired about this offer and have asked me to include it on the blog. Plus, I am buying them and using them in my photos anyways (at least once a month), so I figured I may as well tell you about the deal when I am wearing these amazing heads.

What is the LOGO head deal?

Each month, LOGO is selling an older head- but still fully bento, BOM, and mesh- for only 300 L once a month. As long as you join their free group you can get in on the deal.  This month, the head is Ivona and it costs 300L in February. There is a catch, however.

What’s the catch?

In order to buy these LOGO heads for only 300 L every month, you need to have previously owned the LOGO Animation & Customization Hud. If you do not own it, you can buy it at the LOGO main store. You need to own the hud previously to use all the makeups and bells whistles with this head, and to install BOM into it. The customizations huds are full-price- not on sale. You may have gotten the hud for free if you grabbed the free Chelsea head gift back in November (which I blogged about here). That gift is no longer available, but if you did get the customization and animation huds then, just redeliver your Chelsea head and re-open the customization hud to use it with these sale heads. I used the female customization hud that came with Chelsea (after a re-delivery)- and it worked perfectly for me!

Buying the logo customization hud is a one-time purchase and once you own that the customization HUDs will work with ANY LOGO head (male or female) so you only need to purchase it once to get in on the monthly promotion.  Considering these heads normally go for full price between 2500-3500 L each, this is an amazing price! The current head on sale at LOGO, for 300 L only, is the Ivona head, pictured below.

The FabFree Mesh Body and Head Listing is Live!

All I want for Christmas is… some free mesh bodies and heads!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Advent is my favourite time of the year in Second Life. In fact, I go a bit crazy with it! This year has been no letdown, and the amazing list compiled at Fab Free this year was incredible! Time to give our amazing blog organizer Aline a round of applause. *claps*. Make sure you check out those calendars and see if any of the past gifts are available before the 24th of December. Advent Calendar at Altamura

Today I will be sharing the incredible advent gifts by Altamura this year. The Altamura group is currently free to join for a limited time, which will give you access to their 12 days of Christmas gifts, sitting under the tree at the store, and two free mesh avatars. Joining the group will also give you access to group gifts that are located around the store (you have to search for them in each section of the store), and there is also a free male mesh head at the back of the store which is a current group gift.

Altamura is known for gifting free, full avatars that include a mesh body and head that are (usually) joined together. This advent, they are gifting two full mesh body and head combos for men and women. These bodies are fully BOM and bento and they can be used out of the box with few limitations. My friend Remus and I are showing off the full avatars above. They are beautiful! This is perfect if you need a new avatar or look for free. In each box, a full mesh head and body are included. The head and body are one piece so you cannot wear another head or body with each piece. Altamura bodies fit Altamura clothes, and you can often get the female avatar to fit other brands like Maitreya or Slink with the aid of alphas. I have heard that the male body fits Adam sized clothing nicely, but I have not tested that out. You will need to use alphas (see below) to wear non-Altamura clothes with these bodies. Altamura has a list of all the companies that make Altamura-sized clothing which is handy if you need help finding clothing for your new body.

One thing that’s important to know about these gift bodies is that they are fully BOM and because of this, they do not include a body hud. So, to add makeups, skins, and tattoos you must use BOM products. You can even use BOM eyes and nails. Any system eyes or nails will work with these bodies. As there is no body hud, you must use add alphas manually to your outfits. In order to alpha out sections of the body,  you will need a set of alphas (like the ones that are used when you have a classic avatar). I found two stores that have a good set of alphas out for free with no group join required:

1. The first free alpha sets kit is at Little Black Dress. Just click the bag on the ground and the alphas are yours.
2. Slink also has a set of free alphas out at their main store. Click the board that says “extra alpha layers”.

For the Ladies…

The free female body on offer is called “Movin’ On” and she is gorgeous. The ad below pictures what her head looks like up close. A truly beautiful avatar.

In addition to giving out these wonderful bodies, there are more gifts under the Christmas tree at Altamura. The red BOM shirt I am wearing underneath my sweater and the sparkly heels are two of those free gifts. The heels are fitted for Altamura, Maitreya, and Slink bodies.

Goodies for the Guys!

I pulled in my friend Remus for the post today. Remus is sporting the Take My Way male avatar, which is also free. He is wearing 3 other free advent gifts from Altamura’s calendar, including the sweater and the scarf. The sweater is sized for Altamura bodies only and the scarf will fit any avatar. The jeans he is wearing are BOM/system pants which can be found for free in everyone’s library. Details are listed in the credits below.

Another awesome freebie that’s out for the guys at Altamura right now is the Akakor Mesh head. I am not sure how long this head will be available for free, so I wanted to mention it for all the guys out there. This head is BOM and Omega compatible and it can be worn with any other mesh body! Normally, Altamura heads go for 3-4, 000 L so this is a great deal! Snatch it up which you can, boys!

Free Unisex Hair!

The last thing I wanted to mention is the gifts at the Firestorm Major Event. Remus is wearing the free unisex Jaime hairstyle by Firelight which is currently free to get at the event. This hair can be worn on a male or female avatar and it is completely free, no group join required. This freebie is out for a limited time, and there is also a free arctic ferret, and a free black panther you can grab at the event. I can not find when this event ends, but it will be very soon because this is a holiday-themed event. Go while you still can to get the gifts there.

Woah! Two Free Mesh Heads from LeLutka!

Ok FabFree, strap yourself in, because it’s time for another wild ride down the path of free mesh heads!  LeLutka are being super generous over the Holidays with not one, but TWO free, complete, mesh heads from their Evolution line!  Wow!  Read on, and I’ll tell you all about how to grab this amazing gift and what’s included.

I roped in the lovely Oov to help me out with showing you both the male and female heads, and we were pretty intent on doing it all for free, to see if you really are getting this head for 0L or if you have to pay anything extra to make it work.  We are happy to report that both heads are good to go and come with everything you need to move forward in the realms of mesh.  I am really not someone who knows much about BOM (it’s just not my jam) but I found this was fairly easy to use and I put this look together with the skins, eyebrows, eyes, makeup, facial expressions etc that were included in the free pack.  When you really think about it, this is truly an amazing gift!  Oov was just as impressed with the male head and we were excited with the way it all turned out.

To get yours, join the Lelutka group for free and head to THIS LOCATION, and click on the sign.  I’ll admit, the sim is extremely busy and you may be fighting for a while to get in, but don’t fret – you’ve got until December 26th to get these wonderful gifts!

Also, though you can make your own shape using “edit my appearance”, and there is one included in the box, I headed over to Pout! to pick up the free gift shape they just put out for the Lilly head.  No group join required!
