I could hardly wait for the event to start so I could show you this sexy mermaid swimsuit available on the Emerald Couture display. The Mermaid Ariel suit is applier based and includes the appliers listed below as well as a pair of matching Wedge shoes for Slink High Feet. I wanted to get up nice and close so you could see the shimmery texture of the suit so the shoes unfortunately are not in the shot, but they have the same matching mer-scale print on them so you can glam up your beach look if you like. When we were children magic was very much alive. It surrounded us like light and water in a surreal and ethereal dream of shimmer and color.
The Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and monsters were not just imaginary things. Trolls hid in our closets and under our beds. We played jump across the room, slap the light switch from a distance, and huddle under the covers. I used to imagine that within me was a power I could harness to ‘zap’ away the things that went bump in the night and obliterate them into oblivion. In my mind, I was not a wee child. I was a leviathan of strength — strong, mighty, powerful, and beautiful.
Somewhere along the lines, we grow up. And when you’re a teenager the monsters are supposed to disappear. You know they aren’t in your closet anymore… it’s then you realize they are outside your door. They are, instead, real people with faces. Names. Families of their own. My dreams changed then — as did my outlook. The Tooth Fairy’s wings were crushed into dust… and Santa Claus faded into obscurity as the Grinch stole my Christmas.
It was when I was an adult that I finally understood that not only were the monsters real, but that I did have magic within me that was very real as well. It was not fairy dust or hocus pocus of course. But it was magic nonetheless. It was then that I found harmony within myself.
There is that quote. Something about being afraid of the unknown? It’s when you know that the monsters are real that it becomes okay to sleep with the light off… because you know hold the light to banish them away within the palm of your upturned hand.
