Hail to the New Year! Wow, time flies in Second Life. I should know as I’ve been here for eons. However, I didn’t come with the grid like a few of my “old” friends. I hope 2023 treats you kindly and that you stay safe/healthy in both lives. I much prefer to celebrate in SL. My cat would rather not be exposed to the fireworks noises. He did watch one of the pretty ones explode until it got too noisy.

Champagne and Confetti
It’s pretty hard to get all 6 of us together in the same place at the same time, but we somehow managed to do it this year for New Year’s Eve. Love brought the champagne, I brought the confetti and silly glasses, and as you can see, a fabulously good time was had by all. 😀
What brought us together was this super cute party pose by {NANTRA} Poses, which was sent out as a free gift to subscribers. The gift includes bento poses for 5 people, as well as confetti, three types of 2018 eyeglasses, and champagne flutes for everyone (but not the bottle Love is holding, sorry).

Meet Jenny
There are some truly amazing gifts to be found on the Women Only Hunt 4 (WOH4) trail, and this one is no exception. Altamura Design has set out a complete Bento-enabled avatar as their gift.
Jenny includes a body with Bento-enabled hands and head, as well as the following features:
1 skin tone with eyebrows
3 alpha sections (macro, mid, micro) with many cuts
3 shapes of feet: flat, medium, high

A few more things to note about this body/head:
Jenny is NOT Omega compatible. You cannot use Omega System skins, nails, tattoos, etc., from other designers.
If you want to wear a different head (as I’m doing above), you can. Simply alpha out the Jenny head with the included HUD and add the new head.
The mid and high feet are smaller than other mesh body feet. However, I found that many shoes sized for Belleza feet seem to fit reasonably well. The flat feet can be resized using the sliders in your appearance editor.
The head does not come with eyes (or if it does, I could not find them). You will need to wear a third-party mesh or system eyes.
An AO that cycles Bento hand motions is included, but a static hand poser is not. You can pose Jenny’s hands using a third-party Bento pose or HUD.
The Altamura website hints that people who have this gift will be receiving a “great surprise.” I have no idea what that means, but an announcement will be made soon in their in-world group. 🙂
To get this gift, all you have to do is find the WOH4 snowflake in the Altamura mainstore. There are quite a few very obvious decoys, but you should have no problem finding the real snowflake.
Reindeer Antlers and Santa Kittehs
I dressed Jenny up in the Peace on Earth Hunt 10 (POE10) gift from Prism Designs. Staci Holiday Cats includes a blouse, leggings, and the two cute kitties you see playing behind me (above).
Mesh sizes for the blouse and leggings include Fitmesh XS-XL with alpha layers, Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink.

3 Heads are Better Than One
If you don’t like the head that comes with Jenny, here are 2 other inexpensive options for you:
Join the Altamura in-world group (40L to join). Then head over to eBento and pick up the Giselle Bento head gift at the Altamura booth. I’m wearing Giselle in photos #1 and #2 above; #1 is with a custom shape I made while playing around with the sliders, and #2 is the shape that comes in the folder. The included shape is actually quite nice, if you don’t feel like making your own.
While you’re at The Chapter Four scooping up all the gifts, be sure to grab the gift from Altamura. Maya (#4 above) is a traditional mesh head that is NOT Bento-enabled. I’m including it here for those of you who want an inexpensive mesh head but are not yet ready to leap into the world of Bento.

Hello Hello Fab Free’rs! I hope everyone has had a great week. This week’s designer for the designer of the week post is none other than Chop Zuey. First, I want to tell you that the Chop Zuey main store is HUGE! There is every type of male and female jewelry imaginable within the elegant walls of this posh jewelry shop. The styles range from pretty everyday pieces to high fashion and detailed wedding sets. As you browse this enormous store, you’ll notice there are elegant little sitting areas near the windows where you can stop and admire the surroundings. The water feature with the statue pictured above is toward the back of the shop. It’s in this area that you’ll find the information boards and the Chop Zuey gift cards. They are set up near a pink flowery tree.

This is a time of year to remember all the things we are lucky to have… and to be generous with those around us who may not be so lucky as we are. It is a time to remember that gifts are often not material, but instead life experiences… things like shared moments of joy, love, or even quiet moments of solitude in which we can reflect. And if we do have material things, now is a good time to share that generosity as well.
Many creators in second life are sharing their abilities with all of us in the form of beautiful gifts and low cost items around the grid with advents, sales, and gifts this time of year as a reminder of the generosity of the season, and the Cart Wash Sale is no different.
I felt lucky to pick up this lovely skirt and sweater outfit by Lucky Charms Fashion for only 10L. With its asymmetrically designed skirt and cowl neck sweater, it’s really a standout. The skirt itself is mesh in all the standard sizes, and the sweater comes in all the standard mesh sizes as well as Maitreya and Slink fit too. Your mere 10L get’s you both pieces of the set together in one package.
The Lucky Charms cart at the Cart Wash was a real find in my opinion, as I also picked up this set of Xmas Heels in red for Slink high feet — again for just 10L. They matched the skirt and sweater combination perfectly, and what’s more… all of it is lovely not only for a winter outfit, but would pass for any day of the year, as the designs are simple and classic patterns that will never go out of style.
To give my outfit a bit of holiday cheer, I added a pair of FREEadvent earrings that I picked up from the advent Calendar at Chop Zuey. This pair of Let it Snow earrings is from the FREE(no group needed) side and you can buy them for 0L, just stop by the in world store and pick them up for FREE. The detailing on these earrings is simply delightful!

There are always conflicting ideas about the finer things in life — and whether or not they are material wealth or riches in the form of things like health and family. The good news is, that if your wardrobe is drooping, it won’t cost you much more than a bit of patience for these striking Arabian Nights looks!
I discovered that ALB Fashion has out a gorgeous new tunic dress as a group gift called Sandy for FREE if you wear your group tag. It is a one time fee of 500L to join, but there are quite a few quality past group gifts out and more gifts in the future to come. The tunic dress came in two colors and in all the standard sizes for a great fit (I paired it with jeans and it made a stunning top).
My necklace, pictured above, is a FREEgift, but it’s going to take you some patience and persistence. It is a two part necklace (so you could wear just the short or just the long piece for added versatility) and called India and is a Mini Mania Board prize by Wicked. The board is 10 slaps and starts over every time it reaches 10, randomly giving out 1 prize to 1 person who has slapped the board. I was thrilled as this necklace with its great indigo color matched my new tunic just perfectly!

An extra long weekend hit here in the U.S with labor day, and for me it was time for some modern and retro fun! I was was totally feeling the Neon vibe too!
