Alright Fab Free’rs, I have to say I really am not in to the whole concept of a New Year resolution. I’ve made them in the past, and struggled to keep up with them, and ultimately ended up feeling guilty or disappointed in myself if my resolution didn’t work out. I think we tend to put too much pressure on ourselves to become the best brightest shiny new version of ourselves just because it’s the start of a new trip around the sun. I am all for self betterment, I just think it has to happen in my/your own time.
ZFG
For this post, this group gift hoodie top from ZFG (Zero F*cks Given) just really summed up the concept of a New Year resolution for me. Sarcasm is also my favorite kind of ‘casm, whatever that means. lol The ZFG group is free to join, and this snarky shirt is free with your ZFG group tag. Since I know my cell phone covers up part of the text it reads “My New Year’s resolution is to reign in my sarcasm. Like that is going to happen.”.
These glasses. Moons, stars, oversized lenses, these glasses from Zombie Suicide called out to me “Pru, you must take us home with you…”. Really, a must-have for me. They are the most recent group gift at Zombie Suicide, and the group has a 100 linden join fee. There are also past group gifts available. This gift has a color change hud as well that allows you to change the color of the frames, and the moon/stars so you can match these babies with everything.
Sometimes you just need to let go and eat the cake. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Definitely not afraid of a little indulgence, I happily gave in to my sweet-tooth and picked up this delicious looking cake at Cinoe. Secondly, while this sweater isn’t the same sort of indulgence, it feels like a splurge of the same kind of self gratification. It’s a recent group gift at Sentinus. This lovely little three-tier chocolate cake with fruit topping is a free group gift at Cinoe. The Cinoe group is free to join, and you can pick this sweet freebie up in the group notices or at the Cinoe main location. The cake is a decor/display item. It does not include any poses or animations. If you head to Cinoe and click the gift vendor while wearing your Cinoe group tag, you’ll get a folder with this chocolate cake gift and several other previous group gifts for free.
I’ll admit for a split second I thought to myself “Do I really need another sweater?” when I saw this free group gift at Sentinus, and I quickly put that thought out of my mind. No one needs that sort of negative self-talk. Of course I need another sweater, especially one as cute as this one! I really do like the fit of this sweater, and it has a ton of color/texture options making it a must-have. The Sentinus group is free to join also, so honestly, why not add another sweater to your wardrobe?!

I really like this pleated skirt by MicRo a lot, mostly because it’s not a skirt but rather a skort. What’s a skort you ask? Skirt + short = skort. That’s right, there are mini-shorts under this mini-skirt. This free group gift has a color change hud with 4 solid color choices to pick from. Also, the MicRo store group is free to join.
I love a good lippie, in any life, and especially Second Life. This pretty matte lip color is part of a group gift applier set at Demicorn. The “Sugarplum” set has a range of lip colors in berry reds and blue-violets. The Demicorn group has a join fee of 100 linden, and there are quite a few group gifts available.
Where did the weekend go? By this time Friday it will be Christmas Day! Can you believe it? I’m half in denial myself. lol Two things that seem to go hand in hand for better or worse are Christmas and shopping. I finally worked my way through the behemoth that is the Holiday Shop & Hop event and as overwhelming as it can be, I have to admit it was worth it. My inventory now flooded with gifts, I thought I’d share a few with you.
If you’ve never gone to one of the Shop & Hop events before, there are a few things you should know. First, there’s no group needed for the gifts, just click the gift box at each of the designer’s booths. Second, there are eight sims to wander through. Yes, I said eight. As you can imagine, that’s a lot of shopping and hopping. For this post I chose to share the freeHoliday Shop & Hop gifts by Eclectic Stars, Unicorn, and Infiniti. Eclectic Stars
When it comes down to it, one of the labels that could be used to describe me (and I think most of us in SL) is “gamer.” Eclectic Stars put out the perfect Christmas sweater for any gamer girl as their freeShop & Hop gift. It has a Christmas tree on it made entirely of Space Invader-style aliens. :O So cute!
As a photographer and a blogger, I’ve got an ever-growing collection of backdrops and photo props and I like it that way. The freeShop & Hop gift by Unicorn is this fun wintery holiday outdoor setting complete with a snowman, evergreen tree, and a festively decorated front porch. If you’re in need of a cute backdrop for some holiday photos, don’t skip this one.

Finally, this pose with the snowball and falling snow are part of the freeShop & Hop gift by Infiniti. The gift includes a set of 3 poses that include a snowball prop. The falling snow is a wearable add-on, and I have to say I love the detail of the pretty snowflakes. Almost like shoes, I’m a firm believer that there is no such thing as too many poses! For now I’m off to go see if I can’t sneak up on Blue with this snowball. Wish me luck! lol
I’ve always thought of the notion of a first snowfall as something magical and wonderous, though admittedly that’s partly due to having experienced so few in my lifetime. That said, there are quite a few free gifts waiting on the Christmas tree inside the Cosmopolitan Sales event, and these delicate snow flurries by Persefona are my favorite. You can get them for free at the Cosmo event by joining the event group and clicking the stockings on the Christmas tree just inside the entrance. The Cosmopolitan Sales event group is free to join. This wintery gift includes a resizer hud that lets you easily adjust the size of the snowy attachment.
Limited Addiction
My sassy cute knee-high socks and ankle boots are also free at Cosmo, courtesy of Limited Addiction. You’ll find them waiting on the Christmas tree with the many other free gifts. These sassy holiday themed shoes come with a texture change hud for the socks that lets you pick from a few holiday color combinations.
Both my eye makeup and lip-color are part of the freeCosmo group gift by IDTTY. Their gift is a festive makeup “Jolly Days Collection” that includes 2 eye makeup looks, and 2 lipsticks. I’ve added the vendor photo below so you can get a look at both of these gorgeous holiday makeup looks.

Most skins include a browless option which makes experimenting with different brow shapes and colors a lot easier and more fun. The brows I’m wearing are the freeCosmo gift by ARTE. I think they look sleek and quite natural. In this free gift you’ll find BOM layer eyebrows in brown, light brown, dark brown, blond, red, and a tint-able version. Also there are Omega, and Catwa appliers, and a brow shaper included.
Rebel Hope
Finally, this pretty sweater dress is a Marketplace find by Rebel Hope. It’s just 25 linden and includes a color change hud for the ties and metal bits. If you’re interested in a color other than red, there are several to choose from. Each color is just 25 linden on the Marketplace.

I think it goes without saying that Mister Razzor is a favorite tattoo shop of mine. At the current round of Access, Mister Razzor has the cutest holiday face tattoo for free. These unisex wire-frame glasses are the freeAccess group gift by BONDI at the Access event. The glasses have resize scripts, and include a color change hud with 4 preset choices for the frames and 4 the metal parts of the frames. The same hud also allows you to adjust the opacity of the lenses.
IDTTY
Also at Access, is this lovely matte lip-color by IDTTY. This lipstick shade is one of 4 subtle matte shades in the free “Real Love Collection” gift by IDTTY. This lipstick giftset comes in appliers for Catwa, Genus, and Lelutka heads only.
The Bold Llama
Lastly, I couldn’t resist this cute holiday top by The Bold Llama that I stumbled across on the Marketplace. This cute tank-top is just 25 linden, and if “cheeky” doesn’t suit you, you’ll find quite a few other choices like “Queen” and “Lit.” Each of these fun festive tops comes in quite a few sizes, and has an alpha layer so it can be worn by classic avatars.

With Thanksgiving looming (I know I said I wouldn’t celebrate, but the rest of my extended family does.) and Christmas ever approaching, I felt the need to inspire a bit of the holiday spirit in myself. I put on a comfy somewhat Christmas-like outfit, even got out the reindeer antlers just for fun. Turned on some holiday music, hung some flashy snowflakes in my kitchen, and got to baking. This year I decided to challenge myself with Crème Brulee. After a couple of tries, I think I’ve got it down! Now to whip up a practice batch of Christmas cookies… not because I really need to practice making them, but rather I want to practice eating them. 😛

Regular hairstyles are 100L per color pack, however gachas are 25L per play. I took advantage of the sale on gachas. This cute fatpack shoulder-length style with optional reindeer antlers is the Rare gacha prize in the “Once Upon Eve” machine. At 25 linden per play you really can’t go wrong, especially if you take someone with you who is willing to trade! This Black Friday Sale at Beusy ends Nov. 28th.

Also, this long t-shirt style dress with “LOVE” in block lettering on the front is a free gift at LS Store for the Mesh Body Friends group. You’ll need to join the free-to-join Mesh Body Friends group in order to get your gift. This dress has a color change hud with several colorful choices, and 2 grey and white combinations.
It’s the time of year in my world physical and virtual that I start to wish for snow. Perhaps because I almost never get to experience temperatures cold enough for snow where I live, I find that I long for that story-book white snowy winter. I am also so ready to break out the winter wardrobe. Thank goodness Second Life has me covered, here I get my snow, and a pretty stellar closet full of winter clothing. Speaking of clothing, this outfit is the most recent group gift at Vooh.

There are actually several group gifts available at Vooh, Group Gift 76 is the most recent. I really like the look of this all-in-one outfit. The jacket, sweater dress, and undershirt are all one piece. I love that it makes me appear as though my hands are tucked warm into my pockets. Also, the outfit includes matching boots, and a beret (not worn). The jacket/sweater dress combo has a color change hud with several solid color options for the main part of the jacket, the dress, the undershirt, as well as the metal parts of the jacket. Additionally the hud will allow you to tint each part, and adjust things like glow and materials. The boots and beret have their own similar customization huds with matching color choices. The required Vooh store group has a join fee of 50 linden, which if you ask me is well worth it.
