On the Hunt

Good evening, FabFree Readers. This is a good tie to be a ‘Man about The Grid’. There are plenty of hunts, Gachas and events going on right now to make one feel almost spoiled by choice.  In fact, the Men Only Hunt is so large this round that I’m still unpacking all of the gifts! While there are still quite a few items I personally don’t… appreciate… (Juli insists I be nice) I cast no judgment on the tastes of others. As Juli says, “You do you, boo.” Which is an eccentric way of saying this hunt has something for everyone. That said, my complete outfit including the new hair style is all 100% free and up for grabs on The Men Only Hunt.

First is the “Reed” cardigan and shirt set from Ascend. The thick comfortable sweater comes in the shown shades of blue but a HUD will give you six colors of shirts and ties to choose from. The shirt and tie themselves can be turned off if you prefer to wear just the cardigan. They, however are not wearable by themselves.

Last but not least is my new hair style from Volt Hair. This is a New-to-Me designer that I am happy to have ‘discovered’. Volt does both men’s and ladies hair and has an extensive collection of both. I found the hair to be very well designed and easy to wear. The hair is unrigged and comes with a resizer. Plus, you will receive the entire fatpack in this prize.

A quick note on the Hunt. While you are not required to get the HUD with all of the SLurls loaded, I did find it makes the hunt much easier. There isn’t a page with the hints or the SLurls available online. You will need to join the Hunt’s group but that is free as well.  The pick up for the HUD is here.

Prep Work

I’m just about to dive into another intense round of shopping.  It seems that I get around to that fairly often, and yet never enough to entirely satisfy my cravings.  So, in order to be ready for this deep meaningful spending of monies, I must limber up and stretch out!  One simply cannot walk into a store and be ready – there are rituals, you know!

Ascending

I found this lovely red dress over at Ascend!  It’s a brand new group gift, and I got so many compliments on it today, that I’m sure you’ll enjoy grabbing your own just as much as I did.  It’s all quite simple, just join the Ascend group for 25L, and click on the vendor in the group gifts section of the store.  You’ll find a few other gifts there, including some quite nice ones for the gents of SL.

Nostalgia

Have you ever been nostalgic for something? Like the smell of an old bookstore or the sights and sounds of a record store. It’d be great to be able to just snap your finger and be instantly transported into a record store straight outta the movies. Like Championship Vinyl from High Fidelity, Trax from Pretty in Pink, Polymer Records from This is Spinal Tap, Motormouth Maybelle’s in Hairspray, Chelsea Drugstore from A Clockwork Orange, or Empire Records of Empire Records. I think it would be awesome to visit Trax. When I grab the Men Only Hunt gift from Ascend and saw the way the Rick Open button Blazer looked. It gave me them Duckie vibes.

I came up with a Duckie inspired outfit, decked out a record store in 80’s vibes, and put on some Otis Redding. Before you know it I was singing

Seaside Retreat

MMmmm smell that salty air and feel that ocean breeze. Nothing like getting out of the city and to the coast. Here in Second Life that is. I took Pru on a little seaside retreat to get outta the house. We needed a change of scenery and to be free of the fur babies for a while. As the sun came up, I let her sleep in. I took a walk down to the nearest coffee shop and got us both a refreshing cold brewed boba treat from Movement.

Man Cave Anniversary Gifts

When on vacation no matter how short you gotta look the part. My outfit is composed of Man Cave Event Anniversary gifts. I couldn’t pass up sharing them with you guys. The black sailor hat is from a store I never heard of before. Honor, it’s a cool looking brimless cap with a nylon look. The slick short barely shown Roy Hairbase is from Not Found. My head skin is Drake by Stray Dog in tone 04. The sweet lined cut bread is from OKARA. The trending porn stache Mustache is from none other than Mister Razzor. This cool oval shades are made by Decision and come with a colour changing HUD for all the parts. This nautical type necklace, well choker comes by way of Lapointe & Bastchild it’s unisex. Even the ladies are welcome to grab it and wear it. Ascend has this nice draped shoulder shirt that comes with a 10 colour changing HUD.

I’m not usually one for wearing tattoos. When they’re free and look this good, I had to tell you all about it. The tattoo “Hidden Inside” comes in an appliers HUD for Omega, Belleza, and Maitreya. There is also a TMP installer. IDTTY even included BOM layers as well. The pearl type bracelet is by Dope+Mercy. It comes in white and black for both wrists. We all know this store is great with accessories.
I know by now your eyeing my shorts. These well textured colored summery shorts are named Issac, and they are made by Cubura. A great addition to your summer look. Lastly my brightly colored sneakers are from Betrayal. You get a fatpack of colors for both men and women. Teleport on over to The Man Cave Event, join the free group, and click them beer cans. Rise Up

Good evening, FabFree. I, like most of you, am stuck at home while the virus takes over the real world. However, I refuse to let it scare me into hiding here on the Grid. And yet… I have joined the “Stay At Home Club”. Hopefully you have as well. There are some choice free gifts being offered and they haven’t forgotten the men.

Ascend, in particular has been very generous with their gifts. Blue showed us all this shirt for the SLF&O group earlier.  This is the Hideo Trench and trousers. If you don’t care for the colors I’ve chosen. you can change them up with the HUDs. Because you are getting the entire Fatpack for both the top coat, cardigan and shirt and the trousers. If you simply purchased this set it would cost you well over 2000L. Honestly, it’s worth the price when you consider the staggering amount of color combinations you can make with the HUDs and the extremely high quality build and design. But for now… it’s free. Be aware, you must pay the vender 1L and it pays you back also the top is it’s own Fatpack and the trousers are their own Fatpack. Each must be purchased separately.

Road Trip to Nowhere in Particular

Hello hello Fab Free, I hope you’re all surviving first life well enough. As for Second Life, Blue and I decided to throw a few things in a bag and jump in the car for a much-needed getaway. Like most of us, we decided we could use a little change of scenery. This little diner was an impromptu stop along the way on our road trip to nowhere in particular. We got out stretch our legs, take in some scenery, grab a bite to eat, and of course take a few photos. After all, is it really a vacation if you don’t have a few social media worthy photos? Hah, just kidding.

The pose we used for this snapshot is a free Stay at Home Club gift from The Owl. This free couples pose by The Owl comes with pose balls and individual pose animations. No group is needed for the Stay at Home Club gifts. My t-shirt is a free Stay at Home Club gift as well. I picked it up at Sass. The over-sized casual tee by Sass says “Actually, I can.” and comes in the color shown, and has a matching pair of panties included. I was planning a different post for today but I can’t let Love and Nevi have all the fun with the SL15B gifts, now can I? I’ve only made it into two of the four sims so far but I’m super impressed with everything that I’ve unpacked.

Fringe, yeah!

These shorts! OMG There is lacing up both sides and of course the fringe along the bottom. I didn’t play with them very much because I love them in black, but the various parts are color change as well. They are free from Ascend at SL15B and are sized for:

…I just play one sometimes on FabFree. haha OMG I love these free glasses that AMD put out for SL15B sooooooo much. I’d like to think that I’m usually kind of, a little bit articulate but not so much today. Now all I can do is babble and throw out acronyms. I’ll have to let my picture do the talking.

Not A Moment Too Soon

You guys, I am so so so excited right now! Akeruka is giving away a complete bento mesh head to their group members as an Anniversary gift! Yeah, for real. It’s so pretty, I’m in love. There is a 150L fee to to join the group. But surely I don’t need to tell you how much bento heads cost and how amazing of a deal this is. In addition to the head we’re talking eyes in various colors/styles, body and head appliers in like 10 different tones, an animations HUD, eyebrow color options, makeup options, teeth…I could go on and on. But I won’t because…

Nope, I’m Not Too Old For an Easter Egg Hunt!

Hey there, Fabulous Readers!  After all of Kat’s Fabulous Finds from the Easter Egg Hunt over at the Land of Rainbows, I journeyed to the sim to check it out for myself.  Right away, I discovered the colorful egg from Ascend, and excitedly teleported home to open my free prize…

A New Stan

… and then discovered the Ben Slim Fit Shirt package included only versions for mesh bodies.  At first, that was a big bummer, but I had been toying with the idea of picking up a mesh body anyway, so I decided to take the plunge and go full mesh.  After my transformation, the top fit my Belleza Jake body to a “tee” (ugh, even I winced at the bad pun – sorry).  It showed off my newly acquired muscles, and the texture featured realistic wrinkles.  The front is a solid charcoal color, and a cheery holiday message is printed across the shoulder blades. Best of all, it was completely free as a gift in the Easter Egg Hunt, which I appreciated after my spending spree.  The hunt runs until April 6th, so there is still time for you to “hop” on over and do some searching for yourself.

It was the best of times….

My day didn’t start out the best…. I crawled out of bed, threw on the closest and most convenient clothes, put a leash on the dog and took her out for a walk…. a normal Saturday morning. But that’s when it all started going down hill….  After Angel gets her morning treat for being a good girl, I start my routine of making coffee. I reached into the cabinet and pulled out the box of pods. My hand reached in and felt around in the nothingness of the empty box.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It was the worst of times…

Seriously, how could I have let this happen. Out of coffee… you my as well just call it a day and start over…. So I walked down to the local coffee house and opened the door TRIED to open the door. LOCKED! They aren’t open yet… so I stand here waiting for my first fix cup of the day. My early morning outfit consists of several group gifts, all of them FREE. I’ll start off with my Gift T-Shirt from Ascend. It should read “meet me at the coffee bar” instead of “Meet me at the hotel”. My  Eros Navy Jeans are a FREE group gift from *It’s Gau*. These jeans are low-rise with a baggy front. My Beanie is a group gift from <Kalback>. With a bit of adjusting, it even fit my messy hair. All these groups are FREE to join.
