Sticker fun

Sticker fun

All about those stickers

When I was a kid, stickers were ‘serious business.’ Every other kid I knew was collecting them (the puffy ones are the best, don’t let anyone tell you different) or trading them or just plain showing them off in their fancy sticker books (-ahem-). Fast forward years ahead and stickers are still part of my every day. They’re used as rewards now but sometimes they get caught on clothes or in my hair or maybe even on my face.  The new Fabulously Free in SL group gift by Pink Passion reminded me of such days and since I’m always one to collect unique and cute accessories, there was no way I’d let this free gift slip me by. Put away your makeup layers or your tattoos or scars, stickers are the way to go! I adore how cute and well detailed these cupcakes are (just look at the sprinkles on the yellow one!) but another thing to love is that these stickers are compatible across all avatar types as they are attachments and not appliers or classic layers. You’ll be able to edit the stickers to move them around on your face (not individually, however) and permissions are set to mod and copy so you can make as many backups as you like. This adorable gift from Pink Passion is free and of course getting your FabFree group tag comes at no cost as well. While you’re at the store and have an empty group slot, consider joining the free Pink Passion store group. There are group gifts, lucky letters and a midnight mania board to take advantage of for group members.

 Do you hear that echo?

It’s saying that the gorgeous Marina skin is available for free at the .Ecko. main store. She has such a mysterious look about her, though that dark eye makeup isn’t at all over the top thanks to beautifully neutral lip color. I really love freckles on skin in Second Life and Marina was a great addition to my fast growing collection. The Marina skin folder contains the following:

  • One system skin layer
  • Belleza mesh body applier
  • Loud Mouth applier

You’ll need the Teleport Hub group tag to snag Marina for yourself and luckily enough the group is currently having a free join exercise until the 15th of this month because it’s holding a giveaway for group members. Curious as to what this giveaway is? Join the group to find out but don’t forget to grab your free new skin on the way. While you’re at .Ecko. click on the sub-o to remain up to date on new releases and other goodies from the store. It won’t cost a group slot and there are gifts available to sub-o subscribers. Be sure to also grab .Ecko.’s FabFree group gift too okaaaayyy?

And that’s a wrap. I’m going to see if I can dig out my old sticker collection…catch you guys later!

Last minute pick ups

Hey, guys, I’ll just be upfront and say that the items being showcased today are time sensitive so instead of babbling on like I usually do, let’s get right down to the nitty gritty shall we? First up are the February group gift skins from Deluxe Body Factory. Yes, you read that right, skins as in plural. There are two skins up for grabs this month, Zinnia in honey tones on the left and Nkechi in ebony on the right. I won’t even try to choose which one I like best as both are striking faces and have those little details (freckles and facial moles) that I’ve come to appreciate from Deluxe Body Factory. Both gift packages include:

  • One system skin
  • Omega head and body applier
  • Alpha layer to hide system eyelashes
  • Brow shaper

These beauties are not the only gifts available at Deluxe Body Factory, however, as there’s also Charlie skin for child avatars. Group members will also have access to an array of Lucky Letters and Midnight Mania boards. The group joining fee stands at 299L but group gifts are frequent and there are a lot of them. Speaking of which, you should go grab these skins soon as February is about to end!

Lucky extensions

If you’re read Pru’s wonderful post {HERE} you’d have been clued in about the sale going on at Besom over the weekend (no, I wasn’t really trying to make a hair pun but there it is). Well… she just told me that it’s still going on (teamwork ftw!)! At the time of writing this post, individual hair packs are still set to 50L! Don’t think anyone would be surprised if I confessed that I’ve almost bought the entire store as I’ve been a big fan of Besom’s effortlessly careless hairstyles and the vivid tones that they come in. You’ll be shopping for a good cause besides as proceeds will go to the veterinary expenses of Spirit the cat, click {HERE} to find out more about Spirit. Don’t lag on your shopping though for how long this sale will be on as it was supposed to end on Sunday. I’ve certainly no complaints about this change, though!

Let’s go buy this feline one more life guys, it’s a wrap for today!

Flamingos and Squids

Flamingos and Squids

In preparation

It’s been a pretty long week for me IRL and with all signs, unfortunately, pointing to things getting more chaotic in the coming days, I turned to my Second Life and popped into the Baja Norte sim for some a much-needed breather. There’s still something calming about seagulls swooping about amidst the cresting waves, even though it’s just only in a virtual world. I had something skimpier in mind for this outing (hmm…come to think of it I’ve never actually worn a swimsuit to any of the beach sims I’ve visited), but a stop to Creator’s Collection Box changed my mind. Unlike Carson, who came away with one killer look, I quickly picked up the gift at the S@bbia booth. From its quirky print (flamingos are just adorable birds don’t you think?) to its pretty bowed sash, the (aptly named) Flamingo dress is simply darling.

The gift comes in only one mesh size, however, and without an alpha layer included. While arguably it’ll be easier for those with mesh bodies to find a fit thanks to their nifty alpha huds, I experimented with some of the alpha layers of other dresses that I already owned and found a good fit. Personally, I feel that the Flamingo dress was worth the effort especially when you take into consideration that it does come with a hud that lets you switch the dress between three colors (blue, red and white) technically making it three free dresses. Be sure to do a little more exploring if you visit this 2nd Anniversary round of Creator’s Collection Box as the majority of booths have great free gifts out.

A good pair of clogs

Seeing as I wanted to be able to dip my toes in the water or wriggle them in the warm sand, fussy boots or heels just wouldn’t do for this latest adventure. The sneakers had to stay at home too because who wants to spend their time cleaning sand out from the soles of their damp sneakers (yuck!). Luckily enough I came across a free fatpack of clogs from A&D Clothing and my footwear problems were quickly solved. These cute clogs are a sub-o gift at the store meaning that you won’t need to join any groups or free up those precious group slots to get your hands on them. Better yet this gift is unisex (that ‘special’ dude won’t have any excuses not to join you at the beach now) and can be worn with classic avatar feet (alpha layer and shoe base included). Did I mention that this gift is a fatpack? Well, you’ll also be getting a hud which lets you choose among twelve different colors with a section that’s dedicated to resizing tools as well. I’m still pretty tickled that I found this design in SL seeing as I’ve a couple of pairs of these out of the virtual world and see them all over the place besides. When do we get to choose the charms hmm?

Flamingos and Squids

So squids were mentioned

And here they are in the form of a cute pair of earrings from Frangipani Garden that’s also available as a free gift at Creator’s Collection Box. While I’m fully aware that you’re supposed to eat seafood and not wear it, these Takosan earrings were just too cute to pass up. The detailing on these earrings are amazing as is the subtle difference in the expressions between Mr. and Ms. Squid (well, I assume they’re Mr and Ms). While a resizer script is absent, permissions on these earrings are set to modify and copy so you can make as many backups as you like before making those changes if need be. Creator’s Collection Box runs until the 18th of next month so hurry down.

A sweet face

There’s a new group gift out at WoW Skins! I always look forward to the frequent gifts from this store and was pretty excited to unbox Preziosa. She has a slightly more mature look to her, I feel but still, has that sweet look and glossiness that are hallmarks of the WoW Skins. The neutral tones of the makeup on Preziosa are simply perfect. The gift package includes:

  • Two system skins in the Tan tone (one with cleavage and one without)
  • Omega applier hud for Head and Body

Other skin tones are available for purchase at the WoW Skins main store at a discounted price of 199L and it is 450L to join the group if you’re not already a member. Of course joining the group will mean access to the group only Lucky Letter and Midnight Mania boards that are always stuffed with goodies.

And that’s a wrap. I’ve got a sudden craving for takoyaki and hmm…where do I get some? Till later.

EDIT: Thanks to Ariel Starflare, I’ve been informed that there is now an alpha layer for the dress. Us classic avatars can rejoice!

Kiss Me, Baby

Kiss Me, Baby

Pucker Up

If you are a wearer of LeLutka mesh heads, you will want to hustle over to Laura Hurley to pick up this gorgeous applier. Kay comes in the milky tone and with glittery, pink eyeshadow, high-gloss lipstick, and a light sprinkling of freckles and beauty marks. She is a really pretty face, and I love the intense lips. ❤ ❤

I am wearing Kay on my Simone 2.6 Bento head, and I did not have to mod my shape much at all to achieve a look that I liked. I did notice a teensy, shadowy line above the upper lip, which did not appear until I turned on atmospheric shaders to take this photo. It was less noticeable on my non-Bento Karin head, so perhaps my shape was the culprit. :/

The Lara Hurley group is free to join – with many lovely gifts offered throughout the year – so be sure to stop by and give Kay a try.

XOXO

My lingerie – what you can see of it – is part of the very generous Valentine’s Day group gift from Foxes. I am wearing the crop top and bottoms, but there is also an uber-sexy bra and panty set included. Both sets come in three different fabrics and are sized for Maitreya mesh bodies. A HUD is included so you can change the color of the bows and lace.

My necklace is from Amala for Fifty Linden Friday, and as of this writing, it is still available for 50L. The Scarlett Necklace comes with diamonds and a HUD with 4 metal colors included. The Deluxe HUD is also available for 50L and includes 10 additional pearl colors. NOTE: the Deluxe HUD does NOT include the necklace, so be sure you pick that one up first!

Gaming therapy

Gaming therapy

It’s been a long, long day.

The type of day where all I look forward to is getting home, kicking off my shoes and popping in the first game within reach. Some days I dither about in large open world sandboxes or participate in cover based shooting or just appreciate the graphic epic-ness that is the summons in Final Fantasy 15. Whatever it is, it’s nice to stop ‘adulting’ for a while just as it’s always nice to find (free) merchandise in Second Life that harkens back to my gaming roots.

A gamer’s needs:

Headset to listen to epic game music with plus operating mic so that you can banter and/or yell at teammates (can we please try not to aggro the giant horned fanged thing 300 levels higher than us?!)  during multiplayer…Check. Snacks…Check. Console controller…Check. Granted I wouldn’t usually wear such a thing around my neck but if it did come in a cute necklace version like the one from .{PSYCHO:Byts}. pictured above, I’d probably be the first in line. Speaking of .{PSYCHO:Byts}. and cute, quirky gamer themed accessories the headset, pixel lollipop, and controller necklace is all part of the Gamer’s Heart set that is out from .{PSYCHO:Byts}. (can’t you tell that I’m having fun typing out the name of this store?) for the XOXO Hunt. These beautifully crafted accessories are unisex (there’s a longer version of the necklace for men) and permissions are set to copy and modify so that you’ll be free to make as many copies as you want before adjusting the position and size of these accessories to your avatar. Truth be told I converted this set when I first saw it on the prize list and it was a stroke of good luck that I manage to snag it for free. For more on how to get in on the fun that is the XOXO Hunt take a peek at my post {HERE}.

Etched in your skin.

Another prize that I badly wanted and was lucky enough to get on my second round of the XOXO Hunt is the Lovesick tattoo from Songbird. It’s been a while since I’ve indulged in some body art and these beautifully detailed hearts shaped facial tattoos is not only a good way to dive back into that but is great for keeping in step with the season. I love how it looks freshly etched into the skin, with some of the larger hearts leaving red trail marks on the skin. The gift package includes the classic tattoo layer as well as an Omega applier that can be used for all mesh heads that are compatible with the Omega System. If you want to learn more about the Songbird store there’s also a helpful all in one customer hud included with the prize as well. As with all gifts in the XOXO hunt, you can either win this great prize for free or purchase it from the vendor for 50L. The XOXO Hunt is running until the 25th of this month.

And that’s a wrap. I’m going to see if my gear’s up to snuff to finish off this Leshen. Catch you later guys!

Can I make a connection?

Can I make a connection?

Another bright and sunny day

Well, it looks like the weather’s perfect for Valentine’s and while Commander’s distracted with chasing butterflies, I decided that it would be a good time to sneak in some headshot practice. If you’ve been following Love’s blog posts (here and here) recently, you’ll have been clued in about the Alaskametro hunt going on right now at Free Dove. It’s not a hunt to pass up on (Free Dove also runs two more free hunts concurrently at their location) but needless to say, I got wholly distracted by all the other free goodies that you can find there as soon as I teleported in. One of these is the Serenity skin by Alaskametro. I was immediately intrigued by this (as I always am when encountering new to me skin brands) and a look at the box told me that the skin gift package would include:

  • One classic avatar skin
  • Lipstick and Eyeshadow classic tattoo layers (worn in picture)
  • Omega skin appliers for mesh bodies compatible with the Omega system
  • Omega applier for both lipstick and eyeshadow
  • One shape

Snapping up the gift and taking a peek inside also lead me to discover that you’ll receive a bald base and eyebrow shaper as well. I’ve tried Alaskametro’s makeup and clothing in the past and the Serenity skin certainly doesn’t disappoint in terms of quality. The subtle tones of the makeup provided go really well with such a sweet face and I do adore the light dusting of freckles that Serenity has. It’s certainly a skin to wear for Valentine’s Day!

Speaking of Hunts

There’s another one I’ve just started call the Stupid Cupid Hunt 5. It promises to be fun though I hope I don’t get shot by any arrows in the process. One of the stops on the hunting path is Kingswood and they’re offering the Be My Valentine USB necklace as their hunt prize. This adorable and quirky necklace has an inbuilt resizer script for easier fitting and permissions are set to copy if (like me) you’d like to make backups before embarking on any modifications. I love how well detailed this necklace is, from the symbols on the USB to the little heart charm to the tag that reads Be My Valentine, it almost makes me wish I had this necklace in real life as I’m always loosing my USB drives (there’s probably a black hole in my purse or something). The Stupid Cupid Hunt runs from the 3rd of February to the 28th and prizes for the hunt are set to 1L.

Get to the Sale

What’s a holiday without scampering about to a sale? If you love getting more great quality hairstyles for your inventory, Clawtooth is holding a 25% off sale for all hair packs (gachas excluded) from the 13th to 15th February (not much time so hurry down). I’m wearing the Hang It Up hairdo in the picture which is an older style but I’ve had my eye on it for a while and thought that this was a good time to snap it up!

And that’s a wrap. I’d like to wish everyone a happy and safe Valentine’s Day! I got myself saddled with a blind date (pfft) and do you think I should bring Commander along? Some girls carry pepper spray others bring animals that could potentially maul you. Decisions…decisions.

Candy Girl

Candy Girl

Sugar, ah honey honey

Once upon a time, I had a whole list of ideas (because I’m a dork like that) for themed posts that I could do leading up to Saint Valentine’s Day. Since things have sure taken a sharp swerve into busy between then and the present, I figured I’d just have enough time to at least honor my most favorite aspect of February the Fourteenth. Forget about flowers or jewelry or even -shudder- dates, this Valentine’s (like every other before it) will be all about that sweet, sweet sugar rush. In lieu of simply wearing a sign that declared to all the (virtual) world my love for cookies, cakes, chocolates, and candy, I looked towards the Fabulously Free in SL Group Gift Listing for some inspiration and free gifts. Needless to say, there was one that stood out in the form of La Boheme’s updated group gift. My picture doesn’t really do it any justice but the delicate heart and vines motif that is drawn on each nail is very reminiscent of the icing on the prettiest confectionaries. The gift package includes:

  • LB Crush Gold Manicure and Pedicure Set for Slink and Omega hands
  • LB Crush Silver Manicure and Pedicure Set for Slink and Omega hands
  • LB Crush Gold Manicure set for Maitreya hands
  • LB Crush Silver Manicure set for Maitreya hands

Manicure and Pedicure sets for Slink and Omega hands are done separately, so if you’ve been wanting that subtle difference between fingernails and toenails, this is it. For a closer look at the mani and pedi sets, have a look at Love’s post {HERE}

You are my candy girl

Fully aware that it’s a rare thing indeed to find a hat that speaks both to my love for odd headgear and my sweet tooth, there was no way that I’d pass on this Valentine’s Day freebie by June Trenkins. The vibrant pink of the Bubblegum hat is made even more eye-catching due to the riot of prismatic bubblegum balls that decorate it. While snapping this picture, I was so very tempted to reach up and snap off one of them to pop into my mouth. While the Bubblegum hat is not resizable, you can still move it up and down or side to side along your point of attachment for a better fit. Permissions are set to copy so that you’ll be able to make as many backup copies as you like.  I’m not sure how long this freebie will be up for so if you fancy it, best hurry and grab it for your hat collection.

And you got me wanting you

February has really become a month for reds and pinks, hasn’t it? Not that I’m complaining as it’s really interesting to see the use of different shades in the many gifts and freebies found on the grid this month. Personally, I wouldn’t have considered pink footwear (unless they were sneakers of the hot pink variety) but the latest group gift from Essenz has really changed my mind. Not only do the bows on the Paris heels make a sweet twist to the open toe style, they also come in a choice of three perfect shades of pink (shown here in Bubblegum). The easy to use Hud also lets you customize the metals of the shoe so you can personalize it your heart’s content. The Paris heels come in sizes for Maitreya, Belleza and Slink feet with a shoe base to help with the fit. The Essenz group has a 350L join fee but the Creator is very generous and their group gifts never disappoint.

Candy Girl Headshot

And you got me wanting you.

One of the first things I did as soon as there was a lull in ‘busy-ness’ was visiting one of my favorite skin stores. The Midnight Mania boards at 7 Deadly s{K}ins change out fairly regularly and on my last foray, I managed to get the Renske system skin pack off one of the Midnight Mania boards. As always when it comes to prizes from 7 Deadly s{K}ins, the Renske prize package was very generous and contained:

  • 7 system skins with cleavage/no cleavage options in the tones: Apricot, Chestnut, Cotton Candy, Powder, Pineapple (shown), Sand and Taupe.
  • Omega body appliers with cleavage/no cleavage options for all tones stated above.
  • Slink Hands and Feet appliers for all tones stated above
  • Tango and Phatazz appliers.

Midnight Mania boards are open to group members and this month group members will also have access to the Valentine’s Day Advent that runs from the first to the fourteenth of February. If you’re only hearing about this now, don’t worry as past gifts, aside from two I believe, are still available to you until the fourteenth. Right now the group join fee is 1000L but there’s always waiting for it to dip again if you’re not already a member and the store does hold free join exercises quite often. I just love the impish, sultry look on Renske. 7 Deadly s{K}ins have never disappointed and they’re certainly a store to watch.

And that’s a wrap. If the song’s stuck in your head I truly apologize. At least it’s catchy right?

Sun in my eyes

Sun in my eyes

All bright and shiny

Was it just me or did the weekdays feel exceptionally long this time around? It’s probably no use dwelling on things as time would certainly be better spent looking forward to the upcoming weekend. I’m not the only one either as Commander’s been pretty well behaved recently (not that there’s any carpet left for him to chew up) and even the spotty weather seems to be giving way to bright sunshine. Not wanting to let such a golden opportunity slip me by, I snuck in some time to practice doing headshots and to, of course, bask in the warmth.

Fridays made even better

Back when I was very very very new to Second Life, I heard about Fifty Linden Fridays and being the silly goose that I am thought that there was some place giving out 50 lindens every Friday. A little investigation proved that things were way better than I thought as this weekly shopping event always seemed to be filled with a diverse number of high-quality items that are going for just 50 lindens. I discovered some of my now favorite stores through FLF, an example of this being Wasabi Pills. For today’s current round of FLF, the store is offering the Vic hairstyle something that I snapped up right away for it’s cute and messy vibe. Don’t you think it’ll pair off really well with your slouchy outfits or if you’re going for that ragamuffin look? Anyway, the Vic hairstyle is non rigged mesh hair which means that it came be resized and repositioned. Permissions are set to copy so you can make as many backups as you want. Personally, I had no problems at all fitting the hairstyle and had a good deal of fun deciding between the two bangs options (style A)  included in the package. Also included is an alpha layer and two different huds; one to control the color of the hairstyle and the other to control the color of the hair accessories. The Vic hairstyle will only be out on sale today so don’t hesitate to get your copy.

Smack!

It’s been a good long while since I’ve given any midnight mania board a good tap. Since the holiday rush has now become a thing of the past, I’ve gotten into the habit again and discovered that WoW Skins has added a new Midnight Mania board to its already generous lineup. This MM board is open to the public and currently, contains the Nour skin in tan. In the prize package, you’ll receive two system skins (one with cleavage and the other without), a brow shape and eyebrow tattoos. Choose between black or red eyebrows or if you have a totally different look in mind there is a tattoo layer provided that completely hides the eyebrows. Nour’s youthful look was simply perfect to spend my Friday in and I was more than pleased to have been able to get it for free.

At the time of writing this post, the target numbers for the Midnight Mania boards at WoW Skins has been lowered so go and give it a good smack. While you’re there try your luck at the no group needed lucky letter chairs or if you’re inclined, join the group to gain access to all the group perks (full access to MM boards and Lucky Letters as well as all past group gifts and the current one). WoW Skins has a one-time join fee of 450L.

And that’s a wrap. I’m going to go sit myself on a lounge chair somewhere and read up on how to re-carpet an apartment.  -Sighs- A least I’ll be warm while doing it.

A hunting we will go

A hunting we will go

A whole slew of new hunts!

The New Year has been kicked off with a number of fun hunts, making me excited to see how many more great ones there are to come. These last couple of days have been spent going down several hunt paths and luck seems to be on my side as I haven’t gotten lost or turned around or spent fifteen minutes in a store only to realize I’ve been looking for the wrong hunt prim all along. Anyway, I’ve put together some of those hunt prizes to come up with my look of the day and here’s the rundown;

Cute and Curvy Hunt 2

Having been stuck in sweaters and jumpers and coats (oh my!) for the better part of two months I was most certainly in the mood for something that showed just a bit more skin. The sultry Amal top from Blasphemic was perfect for my needs. Not only did I adore the unique design of the top, the deep blue and black color combination was very eye catching as well. The Amal top comes in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) as well as sizes for the Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Slink (Hourglass and Physique) and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is no alpha layer included in the prize package but I’m wearing the standard size S in the picture above and the top fit like a glove. There are so many sizes included in this gift so play around and hopefully, there will be one that’ll fit. This top is just too great to pass up on! All prizes in the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2 costs 1L and the hunt is running until the 31st of this month. Just look for the pink lollipop!

Medieval Hunt

As I’m always in the market for new boots, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Evil Stumper boots when I opened up the hunt prize from Lady Dragon’s Designs. There’s really nothing evil in adding a new pair of shoes to your collection (amirite?) and I really appreciated the rugged cut of this pair. If you’re tired of flat stompers worry not as these boots are heeled and it also has pretty red detailing on its buckles because even when we’re stomping about evilly we can still look pretty while doing it. Full disclosure, however, the boots do not come with an alpha layer. To get a fit I had to play around with some of the other alpha layers that I owned (having a million boots comes in handy really) and ended up having to use the alpha layer provided with my Slink feet. If you do decide to get the Stumper boots for yourself the Medieval Hunt is a 1L hunt that runs until the end of this month. Keep a look out for a shield.

SLF Birthday Hunt

To celebrate four years in SL, Second Life – Free is hosting a 0-1L hunt that spans across the grid as well as the marketplace. Holding both simultaneously is an interesting concept if you ask me and it’s where I found another pair of pretty earrings (if this keeps up I’ve going to need another drawer for accessories). These beautiful ball earrings with its delicate lace flower patterns from Asutris were a great way to spice up the outfit. The pair come with an easy to use resize script so that you play around with the sizing and permissions are set to copy so you can make as many backups as you like. A clearer picture of these darling earrings are provided below but the SLF Birthday Hunt is running until the 11th of February with lots of great prizes to be had. Keep your eyes peeled for the SLF Birthday logo.

Non-hunt related

After an exhaustive time hunting, I decided to kick back a little with a nice spot of fishing at Sn@tch. Love’s blogged about the fantastic new fishing prize {HERE} and while I was trying to get my hands on it (those boots still elude me grrr) I took a peek at what’s in their riot vendors. Needless to say, they’re filled with goodies and the two faced jeans are just one of them. Who knew that such an unsavory aspect in people could translate quite fashionably to clothes. These jeans come in ten distinct patterns (floral shown) with the choice of pants and underwear layer for classic avatars as well as omega appliers for avatars using compatible mesh bodies. I got my copy for 69L if memory serves but if you’re planning on getting these bring…everyone and push those prices down. The riot vendors change out regularly and that only means more goodies.

A hunting we will go headshot

Getting lucky

Ahhh there we go, a close up picture of those fabulous earrings. While we’re on the subject of closeups, I found that skins from Deluxe Body Factory are just great for that. I love how realistic they look and those beauty marks only serve to make their faces more unique. Pictured is the Jasmine skin which I won off the Lucky Letter boards at Deluxe Body Factory. The prize package includes one classic skin in the tone chai as well as a brow shaper and an alpha layer to hide system eyelashes. Lucky Letters are free for group members but if you’re not currently one there is a one-time join fee of 299L. Personally, I find it worth the price as there are a lot of Lucky Letters at the store and Midnight Mania boards as well.

And that’s a wrap. Time to put my aching feet up unless Commander’s (the Polar Bear cub) gone and dug up the carpet again. Catch ya later guys!

Cute Curvy Classy

Cute Curvy Classy

Pastel Dream

Have you ever had rainbow ice cream before? More specifically Paddle Pop rainbow ice cream? It was my favorite growing up (the only flavor of ice cream I’d consume actually) and one look at this pretty pastel offering from Glasgow Grin had me nostalgic for those days all over again. Personally, I’ve always found pastel shades to have a rather dreamy quality about them and when they’ve been mixed together so artfully I find them quite irresistible. Such was the case for the Cutey Dress that’s out right now at Glasgow Grin for the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2. This comfy sweater dress comes in sizes for ebody, Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Slink (Physique, Hourglass) and Maitreya mesh bodies as well as one standard mesh size for those of us classic avatars. I’m wearing the standard mesh size in the picture above and was pretty pleased with the alpha layer that’s provided as it helped with the fit quite nicely. Cute, curvy, classy indeed! All prizes in the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2 are for 1L and the hunt runs till the 31st of January.

Accessorize

Did you guys make New Year resolutions? It’s a little dorky I know but I made a couple for Second Life as well and one of which is to try to pay more attention to the little details when putting together outfits. The other is to clean out the inventory but we’ll see how well that goes. Anyway, I’m on Oxide’s mailing list and discovered that they’ve put out a great pair of hooped earrings for their sub-o members. You can never go wrong with this classic design (especially when wearing a shorter hairstyle) and this well-made pair from Oxide come with a color change hud as well. If you’re not in the mood to stick to gold there are nine other colors to choose from as well. Some other perks of being in Oxide’s sub-o group is that you’ll have access to past sub-o gifts as well (that you can snap up for free) and of course it doesn’t take up those precious group slots so it’s certainly worth checking out.

All nice and manicured

If you’ve been following the blog closely, you’d have seen that some Fabulously Free in SL group gifts is being changed out. It’s really exciting to see what our generous designers have in store for us next! Needless to say, I snapped up the new manicure and pedicure sets from Hello Dave in a jiffy and am wearing the Fairy French set in the picture above. I love the clean, glossy colors and truth be told its stores like Hello Dave that make getting Slink hands really worth it. Hello Dave nails are compatible with Slink hands and hands using the Omega system. To add this set to your inventory for free, simply wear your Fabulously Free in SL group tag or if you’re not in the group yet copy and paste the following link into local chat in your SL viewer, hit enter and click on the link, secondlife:///app/group/020fa7af-444d-f54f-01e2-557ec06315fd/about . As always the group is free to join! If you’re still not convinced, click {HERE} for a clearer picture on these gorgeous nail sets.

New face for a new year

Last but not least I stopped by 7 Deadly s{K}ins to pick up their January group gift. Carson blogged about the men’s gift {HERE} and I’m happy to report that the gift for ladies is packed full of goodies as well. In the gift package you’ll get:

  • Classic skins in seven tones (caramel, cotton, oak, pineapple, sand, taupe, and walnut)
  • Omega body appliers in the tones listed above
  • Omega head appliers in the tones listed above
  • Slink appliers
  • Tango and Phatazz appliers
  • 2 shapes

7 Deadly s{K}ins has a group join fee of 225L but as you can see it’s well worth the lindens. Not only are their gifts generous, but the faces on their skins are always so gorgeous.

That’s a wrap! I’ve still got a hankering for some rainbow ice cream but luckily it’s not too late to skip on over to the corner store. Catch you on the flip side guys!
