Here are a bunch of shiny new hunts for all you Fabulous People to partake of. All of these started on Saturday, August 1st, so they all have that great new hunt smell. Just click the links for more information on each one. Enjoy!
A whole bunch of July hunts end TODAY! If you’ve been procrastinating, it’s time to get up and get going. There are literally hundreds of free (or very nearly free) hunt prizes to be picked up, but they’re all going to go POOF at midnight. Tell your friends!
Good news is ahead in the form of all the August hunts that will be starting tomorrow. Don’t worry… I’ll post about those and fill you in when they’ve launched, so stay tuned.
We’re starting to wind down to the end of July, and there are a whole bunch of hunts ending on the 31st that you probably want to get in on. There is no shortage of themes… sun, cats, explosions, tea, vikings, and yes… even Christmas. That’s right… Christmas. Just have a look at the hunts in this report if you don’t believe me.
Soooo… you should be able to find a hunt that’s just right for you. Just peruse the list and click on the hunt names that sound interesting. You’ll be well on your way to stuffing your inventory full of free (or nearly free) stuff.
Hello again, my FabFree dears! You know, sometimes it’s fun to mix up these blog posts a little. Take a top from here and a pair of pants from other there, pair of shoes from yet another. Sometimes you can come up with a wild new look!
I’m calling this my new Desert Rose look. It starts with these gorgeous palazzo pants from the ‘Camden’ set from Sweet Temptations. The set comes with the pants with the attached belt and a super cute denim vest. Camden is the latest group gift and the group is free to join. My top is a great bargain from Eluzion. This is the ‘Melina’ top and the chocolate brown I’m showing is just one of six color/patterns the HUD lets you choose from. Right now, Eluzion is offing the Melina top with the HUD as a special promotion for only 65L. But, if you like the top, you better hurry down… the special sale only lasts this week!
To complete my new look, I needed some great shoes and jewelry so I headed to the Marketplace. I found these fantastic ‘Tribal’ sandals for SLink Mid Feet from Katie’s Kreations for only 10L! You can’t beat that! While I was on the Marketplace, I found the just right necklace and earring set from Old World. This is the Medieval Jewelry – Tooth set from Old World and it will only set you back 1L.
Do you like my little friends in the picture? These are two of the eleven adorable little Fennec foxes available in Half – Deer’s Fennec Fox Gacha at Kustom9. These cuties are only 1land impact each and the two rares are wearable companions. You can collect a whole… flock… herd… troop… of them at only 65L per play. Kustom9 runs until July 15th so don’t delay if you need one of these little guys.

When I was a child I was terrified of the tooth-fairy — and of fairies in general actually. I remember other children dressing up as fairy princesses for Halloween, and all I could think of was how deceived they all were! Fairies were horrible, malevolent creatures that stole your teeth and made you stay a child forever! (Wasn’t that what Tinkerbell did to Peter Pan?!) I could certainly think of nothing worse!
In fact, my fear of fairies never really went away until I became an adult. And interestingly enough… it turned from fear to something akin to a malevolent dislike. I saw them as creatures of deceit and even in lore, they really are.
In traditional Irish Lore, the word “Faerie” comes from the word “fay,” which is related directly to the Fates — and some believed they were women who influenced and overlooked the births and lives of men… and not always in very nice ways (obviously). Those who upset the fair folk, were said to be doomed to suffer eternal bad luck unless they made it right by the fairy they had had the misfortune of angering.
But fairies, of course, come in many shapes and sizes… and can be good or evil (though even both the good and the bad can be equally capricious according to ancient lore) and in the traditional lore all fairies were very powerful.
So is it any great surprise, that so many in Second life would wish to recreate the magical look of the fair folk for themselves? I think not! And this week, I give you a chance to do it without having to steal from the winged ones themselves!
The first thing you need is the outfit I am wearing. Because no self-respecting Queen of the Fairies would be caught without first-rate attire! So head to ~Soedara! Once there, join the group (don’t worry it’s FREE) and look for the teleport to the gift area.
There are actually quite a few very nice gifts in ~Soedara!‘s FREE area, but the one I picked up for my look in these pictures is called the Precious Haifa Silk. When you enter the FREE area, you’ll find the gifts in Vendors. You must wear the ~Soedara! group tag to get the vendors to work. You do have to pay the vendors 1L to get your items, but they will immediately refund your 1L back to you — thus making your item a FREE gift. You may find yourself there for a while going through all the choices! There are many beautiful gifts to be had!
And if a picture is worth a thousand words and the eyes are the window to the soul… then your last stop should definitely be New Faces skin store for their FREE gifts. New Faces seems to be a secret saved among friends and it’s one worth sharing. The group is FREE to join and there are currently three FREE group gifts available. I am wearing their current gift skin called Lorna as well as this beautiful eye make-up called Erotica (there are several shades in the make up pack but I chose blue) and both are currently up in the store as FREE gifts. She has all the appliers you need if you use mesh bodies and attachments and at very reasonable prices.
One of the things that really impresses me about New Faces is the detail put into the realism of the skins. These are not “Barbie Doll” skins. Though her line is still small compared to some of the larger more well known designers, she has a couple of ethnic skins available, and many of her skins feature (purposeful) ‘flaws’ such as moles or irregularities on the bodies (such as tiny vein markings and/or bone shadows). There are other realistic details on the bodies that are just too many too mention.
I spoke to the designer myself a few months ago (long before I was a FabFree blogger for her to have any reason to treat me as just another customer) and she mentioned that she is considering a men’s line at some point in the future (so cross your fingers gentlemen!). I can’t say enough about her with regards to customer service and courtesy. Hands down she was helpful, polite, and personable. And there were others in the store, and I watched her treat each of them with the same courtesy. I look for this lady to be up and coming!
Astrid (Portia Swords) got this magical look by wearing…
Skin – New Faces Lorna (Free Group Gift/0L to Join)
Make Up – New Faces Erotica Make-up (Free Group Gift/0L to Join)
Eyes – Ikon Hope Eyes – Starfall
Hands and Feet – Slink
Silks – ~Soedara~ Precious Haifa Silk (Free Group Gift/0L to Join)
Wings – Faeline Fairy Wings – Sachiko (snow)

With all the lovely Fab Free bloggers, I’m sure you will all be disappointed that the nearly-naked one is me. However, since I already have your attention, here is another helping of amazing prizes from the Menstuff Hunt. It is a 1L hunt, but many of the stores have put their prizes out for free! I realize that the outfit I am wearing will not appeal to every male avy on the grid. Some of us have very few opportunities to wear something like this. Being a blogger, though, is about helping all people find wonderful items. A great set of silks like this could come in handy one day for a rowdy intimate role play or a costume-based event, even if you are not naturally submissive. The Kanzi Silks in Brown from Lo Kajirus Designs are partially mesh, with flexi silk panels which move beautifully as you dance. In style, they have an Asian inspired design while maintaining a classic silk look appropriate for this kind of garment. This is a very sexy look, has tons of style and is a great item to pick up at only 1L.
In all of the pictures in this post, I am wearing a set of eyes I picked up in the Menstuff Hunt over at Avi-Glam. The FREE AG Frozen Eyes are a beautiful light silvery blue and are going right into my eye collection. I am especially excited because I was unfamiliar with Avi-Glam until now, so now I have another potential source of excellent quality eyes thanks to this hunt!
This pose is another prize from this Menstuff hunt. Hopefully, you are getting the idea of how broad the spectrum of hunt prizes is in this one-hundred-store hunt. The M-Sheer-Menstuff-10 from Pics n Poses is a particularly nice pose, best used highlighting the left shoulder and chest of the model. I used it turning slightly, to show more of the details in the front of the Kanzi Silks, and it worked nicely. This is a very nice FREE gift from the people at Pics n Poses.
Slipping into something a little more comfortable (for you to see me in), this really great gray suit is the FREE Menstuff Hunt prize from (Red)Sand. The Pin Stripe Suit in gray is a set including a matching mesh pin stripe blazer and slacks. The blazer has the black, open-collar dress shirt integrated into it, and (Red)Sand thoughtfully included an optional gap hiding layer, just in case you need it. As it turns out, I did not. The fit was excellent on my avatar without it. The material looks soft and comfortable; it will go nicely in my smart casual wardrobe for those nights that call for a bit more than a T-Shirt and jeans.
Oddity is an excellent store on Second Life and has created some truly amazing items, including a pair of group gift boots that are SO good, I changed the rules of my blog just so I could write them up! For the Menstuff Hunt, their prize is this unique fitmesh shirt featuring an excellent texture hud that they are giving to us for FREE! The Eivissa Mistic BASIC Shirt is definitely casual but highly attention getting with the realistic cloth textures and rich, decorative detailing. The buttons appear to be metal, standing out from the shirt and the button holes are closed loops, an eye-catching touch. The best part about the shirt, though, is the texture hud that comes with it. It offers the shirt in six colors, the trim in six colors, the buttons in six colors, plus it has two options for brightness and the choice of it being materials-enabled or not! If there was an award for most fantastic hud on Menstuff Hunt prize, Oddity would win it hands down for creating this prize!
The black jeans I chose to help show off this shirt are part of the Menstuff hunt prize from Wilson’s Designs. These are simply styled and carry a nice black denim texture making them a good choice for a go-to mesh set of basic black jeans. That isn’t all you’ll find in the hunt prize over at Wilson’s Designs. These jeans come with a gray, zippered men’s jacket, too, making the hunt prize even greater. For a FREE hunt prize, this is a very good pick up as well.
My last highlighted item this week comes from a creator who is one of my personal favorites. Over the years, Etham has made – and yes, even given away as hunt gifts – some gorgeous crosses. For this Menstuff hunt they have given us the Knight Cross Necklace in gold and black. Although it would look especially great in a Goth style outfit, it is still simple enough to be worn with more casual clothes. The Knight Cross Necklace comes with a short or long chain version and is offered to us for FREE from Etham.
I began this week’s post nearly naked; slithering about to some intoxicating world beat music under the glare of the hot desert sun, and managed to end the post sharing with you my affinity for the crosses Etham has produced over the years. I, my friends, am not easily pigeon-holed. As a blogger, that means I am inclined to share a wide variety of items instead of just those that are “my style”. Or, it might just mean I am crazy. Either way, have fun looking for the little blue T-Shirts that hold the Menstuff prizes in them, and I will be seeing you on the grid very soon!—–WHC Riler

Well hello again Lovlies, I felt it was time to hit up one of my favorite shops for Gorean and Fantasy style gifts and goodies, Luas! As usual the creator of Luas is very generous to her group members. There are 3 group gifts available throughout the store. Each one is a complete outfit with accessories. Speaking of favorite shops, Little Bones also has yet another group gift out, its called Birdie, and it’s gorgeous.
So first, the outfit pictured above has been offered at Luas before, if you missed out on it then now is your chance to pick it up for FREE. Here’s where I’ve shown it previously. This outfit includes the top, “skirt”, and accessories for ankles, arms, and neck. I actually really like the little yellow feather accents, and the tiny skulls! All you need to do is wear your Luas group tag, and click the group gift vendor located in the “Panther” section at Luas. The group is FREE to join as well.
Next, is what you might call the “daintier” version of the above gift! hehehe This full outfit is equally cute with little gold bells and heart shaped locks dangling from the accessories. Also, I forgot to mention before, these items do include resize scripts. Like the other, this gift is FREE to group members, just don’t forget your Luas group tag! This gift is located in the “Slave” section of the Luas main store.
For the third group gift at Luas you will find this complete outfit, including the scarf, arm-warmers, and boots. The belted skirt can be worn with or without the pants, and the top comes in this PG version, and an Adult version if you wanna show off the girls! Just like the previous two, this gift is completely FREE with your Luas group tag. This gift can be found in the “Gorean Lady” section at Luas.
I know you’ve been noticing this gorgeous hair! Lucky us, this is the current group gift at Little Bones. I had to show you a close-up detail of this hair so you could more clearly see the pretty flowing waves and the delicate braid down the back. No joke, I am still wearing this hairstyle! I just love it. The gift includes a color change hud with the “Ink Dipped” color options. Just wear your group tag and go on over to Little Bones. You’ll see this gift and several past group gifts to the left as you enter the store. The group is currently $100 lindens to join, but considering the volume and quality of the group gifts, more than worth it!
Here are the details, Enjoy!

It’s time for Totally Top Shelf again! This time the theme is the Winter Seelie and Unseelie Court for all things magical and mystical and icy. As soon as I saw the theme I knew it would be an event I’d like. And I wasn’t disappointed. The Totally Top Shelf group is free to join and the group gifts are fantastic.
The first group gifts are from Genesis Lab: this icy skin and eyes. The eyes come in six eerie shades both left and right eyes for mixing and matching. The skin comes with appliers for Slink hands and feet as well as Lolas and Phat Azz. I was so impressed with the skin. I think it’s just lovely. The crystal wings in this first picture are the group gift from Chimeric Arts and Fashion. Another beautifully made item. I love the way they seem to catch the light. There are last least two other group gifts scattered around to find.
The barely-there fairy ware I’m wearing is the Frostine setfrom the Sweet Lies gacha. The bra and skirt are one of three rares while the wings ( shown below) and tiara are commons. Everything comes in one of three colors: a rose, mint green and this steel blue. There’s also a little lantern in the set.
My graceful pose is from Signature Pose and is called The Queen of Air and Light. There are three poses in the set and each one is a wallet friendly 25L or 69L for the full set.
Totally Top Shelf runs from December 1rst until December 24th so drop by soon.
