Paisley Day

Paisley Day

Time to fill out your inventory.

The Menstuff Hunt runs through November, and promises, as usual, to fill our manly inventories with lots of essential goodies. My first stop was Brocade Tiger, where I picked up this shirt and tie combo that I admit, won me over immediately. I like the unique Paisley design and was especially happy when I noted on the hunt website that it is an exclusive gift for the hunt. The gift is FREE, meaning it will only cost you a bit of hunting time. Once you find that iconic blue t-shirt, just buy the item for 0L.

The tie is an optional affair.

Put a tie on. Or don’t. Versatility is always nice when it comes to clothing options. And when you can find a quality gift that gives you that extra “oomf” in the versatility department, you know you’ve come across a winner. I especially love items that are unique. This gift from Brocade Tiger comes in all the standard sizes and includes its own alpha. In addition, the shirt and tie are separate, so the tie is optional. The shirt has a nicely detailed button down front, so it looks just as good without the mesh tie as it does with it. I think you’ll agree that this is a gift worthy of your Second Life closet.

Fishing is the reel deal.

Hello, dear readers and welcome to another Saturday Feature! While I’m not much for fishing when it comes to real world leisure time, I’ve since discovered that this activity in Second Life can be quite addictive. Interesting and free prizes always prove to be a great motivation and this is especially true at Sn@tch, an awesome store that regularly holds fishing events where you can try your luck with catching full outfits and more! When I saw the advert for the current round I just couldn’t resist in indulging that festive feel once more, even with Halloween a week or so behind us. Trusty fishing rod and a bucket of bait in hand, I headed on over to Sn@tch to see what the prize filled waters had in store for me.

The results are in!

As it turned out I was pretty lucky and at the time of writing this, I’m only missing one piece of the Spooky Mix and Match ensemble that’s being offered for this round of fishing at Sn@tch. That single pair of system tights continues to elude me and while I’m determined to lure them out, let’s get into the details of what I did catch.

To the left is a sweatshirt and leggings combo that I’m sure to be wearing around the grid as the days get chillier. While I’m only wearing one of the sweatshirt options (Pumpkin) there are six other cozy tops available with seasonally appropriate prints for your choosing. All sweaters come in five standard sizes (XS-L) and have their own alpha layer. As for those quirky Skeleton Leggings, they come in a set of seven different eye-popping colors. As stated above there are classic pants layers available for these leggings but if you’re using a mesh body never fear as there is an Omega applier hud waiting to be fished out as well.

Speaking of pieces of clothing to be fished out, the boots that I’m wearing on the left is available in the prize package as well. You needn’t mesh feet to fit into these stompers as they come in five standard sizes (XS-XL) with a shoe base and alpha layer. This strappy pair are just perfect for stomping in puddles.

And when you’re done with your rough and tumble, change it up with something more whimsical. The Spooky Mix and Match prize also comes with a sparkly crop top (five standard sizes XS-XL) and a spidery full-length skirt (four standard sizes S-XL). Both pieces of clothing include an alpha layer in their respective folders to help with the fitting. I adore this combination for it’s lovely and well-textured glitter, it provides just the right amount of shimmer and shine for this outfit to be worn on those glitzy SL nights.

While we’re on the topic of effortless glam the last outfit in the Spooky Mix and Match prize package is the Undead Bodycon dress. You’ll be able to choose from five different colors for this form fitting number and it comes in five standard sizes (XS-XL) with an alpha layer. I think I’ll never get tired of dressing up as a spooky skeleton girl with this dress on. So to recap, the Spooky Mix and Match fishing prize at Sn@tch contains twenty-four pieces which are one pair of boots, one full-length skirt, one crop top, five bodycon dresses, seven sweaters and seven leggings. A casual fishing rod costs 100L and can be purchased at Sn@tch or on Marketplace but its a great investiment as you can fish to your heart’s content.

Sprinkle in those little extras.

If you’re looking to expand your hair collection, GeMyles Couture is offering four mesh hairstyles in different colors for free on their Lucky Letter boards. You don’t need a group tag to participate and the letters change out fairly quickly. I managed to grab all three hairstyles in the picture above in under an hour or so but they are frankly, worth the wait. Coming in different lengths and styles, they prove to be the perfect quality topper (literally!) to any outfit.

You might also notice that I’m wearing a different pair of shoes for the picture on the right. These are a Halloween Gift that’s available at the ChicChica Mainstore for free (just find it at the base of the staircase) These shoes are made for the Slink High, Maitreya and Belleza mesh feet. I just can’t get over the beautiful bow and vivid orange and purple coloring.

It’s also worth a mention that the poses I’m using in the pictures are the Fabulously Free in SL group gift by One Creations. Since becoming a blogger I’ve realized I need a wide diversity of poses and am glad that to have discovered One Creations and their fluid poses. The store is currently part of the Menstuff Hunt so if you know a guy looking to add to his pose collection, go and do some hunting! (Psst the prize is 1L) For more information on the FabFree group gift, it was blogged fantastically {HERE} by Kathryn.

Fab Free Designer Friday – 10/28/2016 – Rowena’s Designs

Happy Friday Fab Free! It’s that time of the week again where we get to introduce one of our many Fabulous Fab Free designers. This week I have the pleasure of introducing Rowena’s Designs! We don’t always get the chance to really talk about the awesome designers that generously participate in Fab Free, so I hope you’ve all been enjoying these Friday posts. Not only is it a great way to learn a little about each shop and what they offer, it’s our way of showing our appreciation for each designer. The Fab Free community just wouldn’t be the same without them.
RD Gifts 1Rowena Springflower of Rowena’s Designs has often generously participated in Fab Free events and the Fab Free group over the last few years, and we are delighted that they continue to do so. Her store has grown immensely in it’s relatively short time in Second Life.  Rowena’s Designs offers women’s mesh clothing that is as beautiful as it is affordable. The clothing style is what I would call modern, with enough variety that there is bound to be something for everyone. You’ll find shoes, casual, and formal attire, also most outfits will include a color change hud for added versatility. Additionally there is a wealth of opportunities to score FREE and or very inexpensive clothing. Rowena’s Designs has current store group gifts available at the back of the store. Simply head to the left and strait back from the store entrance. The “Designs by Rowena” group is FREE to join and will keep you informed about gifts, events, and new releases. You’ll see group gift boards, as well as Lucky boards, Mini Mania, and Midnight Mania boards right away.
RD Gifts 2Once you’re in the area, turn to your left and you’ll see more opportunities for gifts, including the fantastic Fab Free group gift exclusive which was previously blogged here by Love Trill. In this same area of the Rowena’s Desgins section of the store, you’ll also find some inexpensive outfits next to a couple of Riot boards. I’m not positive how low the Riot boards will take the price, but it would be fun to find out! So take a moment, bring your friends, and check out Rowena’s Designs. Pack your wardrobe with beautiful clothes by Rowena Springflower. Oh! I can’t believe I almost forgot, once you’ve joined the Designs by Rowena group, you’ll want to head upstairs and check out the several past group gifts that are still available. Happy Shopping Fab Free!

Perfectly Posh in Pearls

Glancing Back

Happy Saturday, wonderful readers!  This morning, Ripley and I started our weekend the way we always do… reading the Fabulously Free in SL blog.  While I was admiring Loki’s sensuous photo here, Ripley insistently nosed the Group Gift Listing link in the corner of the Fab Free web page.  Of course, with my pooch’s gift for finding fashion, I immediately followed his lead and discovered not one, but two, new, free, fabulous gifts for Fab Free group members that, in my mind, coordinate with each other spectacularly.

With a few quick teleports and clicks, I became the proud new owner of Posh Tale’s free, elegant Margot gown and Tiffany Designsfree back necklace.   The opulent sheen of the double stranded pearls contrasts beautifully with the subtle shimmer of the floor length, formal gown.  From the front, the necklace appears to be a traditional pearl strand, but from behind, it drapes beautifully and emphasizes the line of your back.  I love the way the dress leaves my shoulders bare to feel the caress of the moonlight.  The gown includes a HUD that allows you to select one of 16 colors, and comes in 5 sizes for classic avatars.  Although there was no applier for mesh bodies, I was able to wear the gown just fine by adjusting the alpha on my Maitreya Lara body.  After adding simple pearl studs from Caroline’s jewelry, and slipping on some black heels (more on these shoes in my blog post coming tomorrow), I accompanied Ripley to the outdoor ballroom at the Invictus sim.

Perfectly Posh

While the night breeze ruffled Ripley’s fur, we wandered around the grounds of this beautifully decorated sim, which is inspired by the poem of the same name by William Ernest Henley.  It’s a Linden Endowment for the Arts exhibit and is well worth exploring.  I discovered the Invictus sim by reading this blog post by Ziki Questi.  It has more in depth information if you are interested, and is enjoyable to read.  Periodically, falling stars blazed a trail across the purple and mauve streaked sky while we walked around.  Legend has it that if you wish upon a shooting star, your wish will come true.  Here’s hoping that all your wishes come true this weekend.  Until tomorrow, happy shopping!

Fields of Gold

Snapshot_001Good day Fabulous Readers!  Have you heard about The Good Gorean Hunt?  Full on gorean wear is not my usual fashion, but I do like to take little bits of fashion from different style categories and add them to my usual look for a change.  I really like how it turned out today!

When I heard that The Good Gorean Blog was celebrating five years and was hosting a free hunt, I checked out the hunt prizes and there are several items that I quite liked!  In my photos, I am wearing the Alethea Gown that I picked up at Posh Tales for The Good Gorean Hunt.   It comes with a texture change hud that allows for a ton of different colour options as well as you can wear or remove the cape.  This is a fitmesh creation and comes with an alpha layer if you need it, so it should fit on whatever body you are in whether it be system or one of the mesh bodies.

I also made a stop to Aisling and looked for the hidden “G” icon and was pleasantly surprised that it was a beautiful jewelry set called Alyse.  Alyse includes the necklace shown as well as a pair of matching earrings that are unfortunately hidden in my hair :/.  I promise they are just as lovely as the necklace and WAY worth the time it takes to find the hunt icon🙂.

Morning Shopping at the Wash

Good Morning, FabFree!

Take the mic

I don’t know about you but it’s an “I need coffee” sort of morning here. I was up late, maybe too late but a little coffee and a little shopping? Now that’s the way to start the day.  I started out at the fantastic Indian Summer Cart Sale at the Wash and found this wonderful mini dress from Zanze. This is the Becca dress in cream I’m showing off. But it comes in several just-as-tasty colors and all for 10L each. The dress includes the standard Mesh sizes XS-L but it has no alpha layer. I found I actually didn’t need one. The dress fits perfectly! Just don’t forget your undies since you aren’t alphaed!😉

Right next to the Zanze Cart is the always awesome Lindy Modern and Retro Shoes Cart. Lindy has put out a very nice loaded Cart this round with shoes for SLink feet and system feet. I picked the Yeva heels in nude to match up with my new dress.

Last but not least, is a new hair style to top things off. This is the lovely ‘Esra’ from Sentinus and it was one of the current free groups gifts.  As of right now, the Sentinus group is free to join! Plus there is a nice selection of group gifts available, a free SLF&Os gift AND a great Hunt/sale going on! So don’t delay!
