Swish Swish

Beusy are also ringing in the new year with a hairstyle for members of their VIP group.  The Nyx hairstyle is a high ponytail that comes in three parts:  the ponytail, the bangs and the hair base, so you can wear each part separately, mixing and matching as you like, and it comes in a full fatpack of colours.  I wore just the ponytail.  It’s cool because it’s got quite a bit of motion to it!  The Beusy group is currently 350L to join.  You can get this hairstyle by clicking on the wording at the top right of the gift vendor.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Once upon a time there was a little avatar named Aline.  She wrestled with herself every New Year’s Eve, and wondered “do I put on a dress and head out to a dance floor, or do I put on some comfies, hop on the bed with some chips and cuddle with the nearest fluorescent light?”  Well, for the moment – you can see what she decided!

Okay, so I’m late to the party for the awesome Kaithleen’s 300L gift card. But while I was doing the photo for yesterday’s blog post, the group notice came through and slapped me right in the face. ONLY ONE MORE DAY to go get my 300L card! That’s right, 300L just for the group members. The Group does cost a teeny 5L to join but wow… it’s still a great bargain. We are coming right down to the wire for 2020, FabFree. The year can be counted in hours and I for one won’t miss this one. But at least the 2020 year was a good one for hunts and special groups and cool free things.  So this ‘almost the last post for 2020’, I found a couple of nifty giftys from some hunts that are also in their last hours.

First, is my cute pearl grey sweater  from Starlight Apparel. The “Ember” sweater dress is one of the prizes for the Up To Snow Good Hunt over on the Town called Short Leash SIM. Much like the Spookzilla hunt, each designer has placed gifts priced 0 to 25L all over the sim to find. This sweater is one of the 25L prizes. When you land, you can pick up a folder with all the info and prize guides for easy hunting. Now this IS an adult SIM so a bunch of the prizes are… um… adult in nature and no child avatars are allowed.

Okay, Derpy Juli story time. I saw these awesome ” Kathy” boots from Modern Nostalgia on the Peace on Earth hunt web page and I knew I had to have them. The dark charcoal color would go smashingly with my new grey “Ember” sweater, right?! Plus, they’re free! So I went and hunted them down, got home and popped on the sweater opened the boots, wore them …… and they are HOT PINK! What?? Nooo they matched the grey sweater! I’m so peeeeved! I wanted grey, like the picture… I ought to talk to the designer about false adverti….. oh. There’s a color HUD.  Derp.

So, yeah. There is a great color HUD with thirty five colors and patterns.

Staying Home for the Holidays

I know many of us are missing our nearest and dearest these days, but let’s not get too down about it all.  I often think about how lucky we are to have the technology to be able to see our family from afar, and I choose to focus on that.  The other thing that keeps me happy is the fact that so many designers are super generous, handing out amazing gifts.  Trompe L’Oeil have been consistently amazingly generous, and they’ve done it again, this time with the completely free Cecilia cottage.  It’s sooooo nice!  I’m totally going to pull up everything I have on my land to start over with this cute cottage.  At 53LI, it’s pretty light on the prims for the size and detail as well.  Head on over to the Trompe L’Oeil mainstore and click on the vendor just by the front doors, and it will be yours for FREE!  There’s also a sweet bench for free too.

On the 6th Day of Christmas…
