If You Listen Carefully…

… the silence is beautiful.  It’s been a long time since I was in a snowstorm, but I still remember the peace and tranquility after Mother Nature blanketed the world in white.  Sounds were muffled, and the landscape was so incredibly beautiful.  Nowadays, I need to get my snow fix on Second Life.  Tonight, the pupster and I traveled to Rayne and PetitChat for a dose of winter wonderland.  Isn’t the scene just lovely?

Feeling Lucky?

My sweet dress is a Lucky Board prize at Lunaria available to members of the Lunaria group.  Since the group is free to join, the only investment I had to make was a bit of time waiting for that magical “K” to appear on the board.  It took a couple of days of trying off and on, but this little number was well worth the wait!  With long sleeves, a charcoal colored bodice, a gray skirt, and cuffs, this frock kept me warm, but also offered stylish touches as well, such as the tree print on the bodice and pale embroidery on the cuffs and hemline.  I really like the more muted color scheme of this outfit.  With sizes for classic avatars as well as several mesh bodies, this free lucky board prize is sure to please.

Well,  that’s a wrap for today.  Tomorrow, Ripley and I are going to hit the kitchen and snooze by the warm oven (Ripley – not me) and attempt to whip up a home made (from scratch) pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving Dinner dessert (me –  not Ripley).  We’ll see how THAT turns out.  I haven’t had the best of luck in the past with pie crusts.  Anyone know of a good bakery that will be open late on Wednesday, just in case?  Until my next post, happy shopping!

One can dream…

One of my secret fantasies (no this isn’t getting naughty, sorry) is to be snowed in at a remote cabin. There is something very rustic about this dream (of course I would need internet). With plenty of books to read and watching the snow fall out the window, I believe it would be quite enjoyable for me…

Dreams aren’t the only things free…

I stopped by The Menstuff Lounge and found that the sim has once again changed. All the gift for all the ‘Stuff groups are on display along the street.  I happened across the gift provided by Tiffany Designs. The Andrew Casual Outfit includes the shirt, pants and shoes in sizes XS-XL, and looks warm enough for the coldest cabin.  While the gift is FREE, The Menstuff group does have a one time join fee of 50L.

Jingle Those Bells!

Some might say it’s too early to start donning the Christmas gear, and usually I’d agree.  However, I just couldn’t wait to show you all this gorgeous group gift from Violent Seduction.

Winter Wonderland

Wearing the Astral Christmas dress that I found, I suddenly felt the urge to head to the North Pole.  Perhaps I was a bit foolhardy wearing such a skimpy dress to the frozen regions of the world, but the magical aura at the North Pole Village and Santa’s Workshop sim drove the cold from my mind.

The elves were merrily capering about, and the crystalline caves glittered before me.  Before I knew it, I was helping wrap gifts, and Santa himself was doing a practice run in his sleigh.

Lo and behold, the Christmas spirit had taken over, and I had to remind myself that it was still November.  Ahwell, I guess I’ll deck the halls anyway!

First, stop by Calico Hair, where you’ll find two pretty hairs you can pick up. The color packs are just 25L each or you can get the fatpack for 150L. I picked up Luna II but there is also a pretty side braid out as well. My new hairstyle is pictured above and below so you can see both the front and the back.

… both the front and the back. I had to show off both the front and the back of this fabulous 25L Tuesday special tattoo from Dita Couture. This tattoo called Indian Jewell is a beauty, with intricate details on both the front and back of the body and it is a full upper body tattoo (though my dress covers part of it for modesty sake). I wanted to make sure you could see both sides, thus the two pictures. If you purchase this you will get:

We may not be getting Thanksgiving this month in Canada as we celebrated last month, but thankfully… we still get all the good Christmas shopping sales! The photo above is a pretty good real life example of what my office looks like, (minus the delicious plate of Thanksgiving goodies :/).  I have been up to my eyeballs in holiday lists, being suckered into so many purchases I hadn’t planned on making.  I do have to admit though that this sure beats fighting the crowds for the last tickle me elmo or cabbage patch doll, teddy ruxpin or lego pirate ship or “whatever is the most popular item this year”.

Oh, hey there… you found me.

Yeah, I’m still sitting here drinking my coffee. To be honest, I was completely unable to adult today. Sure, I had tons of stuff to do, but I didn’t get any of it done. I’ll be sorry tomorrow.

But for now, I just gonna sit here quietly and enjoy my coffee.

Coffee and Comfort

I knew I wouldn’t be getting anything done today soon as I put on this cozy outfit. The Parka Dress is the latest group gift from S@BBiA, and it comes in a one-size-fits-all mesh with an alpha layer. I love not having to make decisions – like what size to wear – early in the morning.

To keep my feet toasty, I added the Baby It’s Cold Outside boots from Entice. You can pick up a pair for free by joining the SL Frees & Offers in-world group. The boots come in rigged and unrigged versions with an alpha layer so they should fit just about everyone.

Ok, I guess it’s time to pack it up and go inside. In the immortal words of Scarlett O’Hara, “After all, tomorrow is another day.” 🙂
