A hunting we will go

A whole slew of new hunts!

The New Year has been kicked off with a number of fun hunts, making me excited to see how many more great ones there are to come. These last couple of days have been spent going down several hunt paths and luck seems to be on my side as I haven’t gotten lost or turned around or spent fifteen minutes in a store only to realize I’ve been looking for the wrong hunt prim all along. Anyway, I’ve put together some of those hunt prizes to come up with my look of the day and here’s the rundown;

Cute and Curvy Hunt 2

Having been stuck in sweaters and jumpers and coats (oh my!) for the better part of two months I was most certainly in the mood for something that showed just a bit more skin. The sultry Amal top from Blasphemic was perfect for my needs. Not only did I adore the unique design of the top, the deep blue and black color combination was very eye catching as well. The Amal top comes in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) as well as sizes for the Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Slink (Hourglass and Physique) and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is no alpha layer included in the prize package but I’m wearing the standard size S in the picture above and the top fit like a glove. There are so many sizes included in this gift so play around and hopefully, there will be one that’ll fit. This top is just too great to pass up on! All prizes in the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2 costs 1L and the hunt is running until the 31st of this month. Just look for the pink lollipop!

Medieval Hunt

As I’m always in the market for new boots, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Evil Stumper boots when I opened up the hunt prize from Lady Dragon’s Designs. There’s really nothing evil in adding a new pair of shoes to your collection (amirite?) and I really appreciated the rugged cut of this pair. If you’re tired of flat stompers worry not as these boots are heeled and it also has pretty red detailing on its buckles because even when we’re stomping about evilly we can still look pretty while doing it. Full disclosure, however, the boots do not come with an alpha layer. To get a fit I had to play around with some of the other alpha layers that I owned (having a million boots comes in handy really) and ended up having to use the alpha layer provided with my Slink feet. If you do decide to get the Stumper boots for yourself the Medieval Hunt is a 1L hunt that runs until the end of this month. Keep a look out for a shield.

SLF Birthday Hunt

To celebrate four years in SL, Second Life – Free is hosting a 0-1L hunt that spans across the grid as well as the marketplace. Holding both simultaneously is an interesting concept if you ask me and it’s where I found another pair of pretty earrings (if this keeps up I’ve going to need another drawer for accessories). These beautiful ball earrings with its delicate lace flower patterns from Asutris were a great way to spice up the outfit. The pair come with an easy to use resize script so that you play around with the sizing and permissions are set to copy so you can make as many backups as you like. A clearer picture of these darling earrings are provided below but the SLF Birthday Hunt is running until the 11th of February with lots of great prizes to be had. Keep your eyes peeled for the SLF Birthday logo.

Non-hunt related

After an exhaustive time hunting, I decided to kick back a little with a nice spot of fishing at Sn@tch. Love’s blogged about the fantastic new fishing prize {HERE} and while I was trying to get my hands on it (those boots still elude me grrr) I took a peek at what’s in their riot vendors. Needless to say, they’re filled with goodies and the two faced jeans are just one of them. Who knew that such an unsavory aspect in people could translate quite fashionably to clothes. These jeans come in ten distinct patterns (floral shown) with the choice of pants and underwear layer for classic avatars as well as omega appliers for avatars using compatible mesh bodies. I got my copy for 69L if memory serves but if you’re planning on getting these bring…everyone and push those prices down. The riot vendors change out regularly and that only means more goodies.

Getting lucky

Ahhh there we go, a close up picture of those fabulous earrings. While we’re on the subject of closeups, I found that skins from Deluxe Body Factory are just great for that. I love how realistic they look and those beauty marks only serve to make their faces more unique. Pictured is the Jasmine skin which I won off the Lucky Letter boards at Deluxe Body Factory. The prize package includes one classic skin in the tone chai as well as a brow shaper and an alpha layer to hide system eyelashes. Lucky Letters are free for group members but if you’re not currently one there is a one-time join fee of 299L. Personally, I find it worth the price as there are a lot of Lucky Letters at the store and Midnight Mania boards as well.

And that’s a wrap. Time to put my aching feet up unless Commander’s (the Polar Bear cub) gone and dug up the carpet again. Catch ya later guys!
