Avoiding Those Dust Bunnies

Gray Day

Brrrr……. hello there Fabulouses!  With frigid winter weather blustering at our door, and the snow piling high outside, Ripley and I decided to hibernate with some of our favorite books.  Nestled under a cozy throw in my hanging chair, I caught up on my reading, while my canine pal hunted dust bunnies lurking in the corners of our attic.  I lazed the day away in style thanks to my new, knitted dress from Xtravagance.

Dress Impeccably and They Remember the Woman

My free, cozy, long-sleeved knitted “Sarah” dress from Xtravagance provided just the right amount of warmth for a mid-winter’s get away, while at the same time hugging my every curve.  The texture of the vertical ribbing is criss-crossed by delicate purply-pink and white horizontal stripes, which provides visual interest.  This dress reminds me of a soft knit sweater I have in real life that is so comfortable to wear.  Sarah comes in Fitmesh for classic avatars as well as appliers for mesh bodies.  To add this knitted frock to your inventory, join the Power Woman group for 50L, then head on over to Xtravagance and click the gift board.

What’s Included:

  • Fitmesh for classic avatars in XS, S, M, L, XL
  • Alpha Layer for classic avatars
  • Fitmesh for Belleza, Hourglass, Maitreya, Slink, and TMP mesh bodies

Shakes of Snow
New Group Goodies

Have you noticed all the new group gifts Love and Pru have been featuring lately?  Apparently the pupster did!  While I was lost in literature, Ripley temporarily abandoned his hunt, and set out to retrieve just the right finishing touch for my outfit.  He must have read Pru’s Designer Friday post {HERE} featuring the Hello Dave store, and checked out the FabFree Group Gifts list {HERE} because he startled me out of my fantasy world by dropping the free nail polish applier HUD called Shades of Snow into my lap.  It contained 5 wintry hues just perfect for adding a finishing touch to my outfit.  I chose to slick on the darkest pink color, since it echoed the delicate blush of my sweater’s stripes.  In addition to Shades of Snow, the free gift for the Fabulously Free Group from Hello Dave also includes the frosty-themed Fairy French and the Cuticle Glitz sets.  I just love the shiny texture of the polishes in this gift collection!  The best part is that all fifteen hues are completely free for Fab Free Group members.  Simply activate your Fab Free group tag, teleport over to Hello Dave, click the gift board, and a new manicure will be delivered right to your inventory in practically no time at all.

And Now for Those Dust Bunnies!

All too soon, the pale afternoon sunlight faded away, and the peaceful solitude of our attic hideaway was shattered by explosive canine sneezes.  Ripley, apparently victorious in his dust bunny quest, reminded me of the chores we had ditched for our afternoon literary escape.  Ah well, it was a welcome treat, if only for a little while… I hope you are able to find a mid-winter respite of your own.  Until my next post, happy shopping, my friends!

Stood Up

Waiting_001

Stood up.

He said we had a date, and I was all decked out. Dressed to the nines. Fit to kill. You know how it goes. You find just the gown at ALB that can’t be passed up, especially since it’s free. I opted out of the full skirt and kept it simple, going only for the slinky white part with the draping back and the low cut neckline and then I waited at the door but he never showed up. It’s a good thing the dress didn’t cost me anything… or I might have more in the way of revenge than just petty aggravation on my mind.

Of course if you have an upcoming date, you can get this dress too… and it comes in all the right sizes: fitmesh XS – XL as well as Maitreya, Slink, Belleza, and TMP.

Pairing things up.

I had a flair for dramatics. (So does he… I’m sure he’ll have some excuse.) So I added this jewelry from Lazuri to my dress. It’s the current group gift out. I’m showing you the necklace and cuff bracelets, but there were also rings and earrings too. They are even color change, with a choice of silver or gold metal and an ability to change the color of the pearls as well. Lazuri frequently sets out large sets of color change gifts, so though the group fee is 250L, it means a lot of jewelry for your group fee.

I wonder if he’ll show up late to pay the ticket for the bottle of wine I ordered…

A hunting we will go

A hunting we will go

A whole slew of new hunts!

The New Year has been kicked off with a number of fun hunts, making me excited to see how many more great ones there are to come. These last couple of days have been spent going down several hunt paths and luck seems to be on my side as I haven’t gotten lost or turned around or spent fifteen minutes in a store only to realize I’ve been looking for the wrong hunt prim all along. Anyway, I’ve put together some of those hunt prizes to come up with my look of the day and here’s the rundown;

Cute and Curvy Hunt 2

Having been stuck in sweaters and jumpers and coats (oh my!) for the better part of two months I was most certainly in the mood for something that showed just a bit more skin. The sultry Amal top from Blasphemic was perfect for my needs. Not only did I adore the unique design of the top, the deep blue and black color combination was very eye catching as well. The Amal top comes in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) as well as sizes for the Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Slink (Hourglass and Physique) and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is no alpha layer included in the prize package but I’m wearing the standard size S in the picture above and the top fit like a glove. There are so many sizes included in this gift so play around and hopefully, there will be one that’ll fit. This top is just too great to pass up on! All prizes in the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2 costs 1L and the hunt is running until the 31st of this month. Just look for the pink lollipop!

Medieval Hunt

As I’m always in the market for new boots, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Evil Stumper boots when I opened up the hunt prize from Lady Dragon’s Designs. There’s really nothing evil in adding a new pair of shoes to your collection (amirite?) and I really appreciated the rugged cut of this pair. If you’re tired of flat stompers worry not as these boots are heeled and it also has pretty red detailing on its buckles because even when we’re stomping about evilly we can still look pretty while doing it. Full disclosure, however, the boots do not come with an alpha layer. To get a fit I had to play around with some of the other alpha layers that I owned (having a million boots comes in handy really) and ended up having to use the alpha layer provided with my Slink feet. If you do decide to get the Stumper boots for yourself the Medieval Hunt is a 1L hunt that runs until the end of this month. Keep a look out for a shield.

SLF Birthday Hunt

To celebrate four years in SL, Second Life – Free is hosting a 0-1L hunt that spans across the grid as well as the marketplace. Holding both simultaneously is an interesting concept if you ask me and it’s where I found another pair of pretty earrings (if this keeps up I’ve going to need another drawer for accessories). These beautiful ball earrings with its delicate lace flower patterns from Asutris were a great way to spice up the outfit. The pair come with an easy to use resize script so that you play around with the sizing and permissions are set to copy so you can make as many backups as you like. A clearer picture of these darling earrings are provided below but the SLF Birthday Hunt is running until the 11th of February with lots of great prizes to be had. Keep your eyes peeled for the SLF Birthday logo.

Non-hunt related

After an exhaustive time hunting, I decided to kick back a little with a nice spot of fishing at Sn@tch. Love’s blogged about the fantastic new fishing prize {HERE} and while I was trying to get my hands on it (those boots still elude me grrr) I took a peek at what’s in their riot vendors. Needless to say, they’re filled with goodies and the two faced jeans are just one of them. Who knew that such an unsavory aspect in people could translate quite fashionably to clothes. These jeans come in ten distinct patterns (floral shown) with the choice of pants and underwear layer for classic avatars as well as omega appliers for avatars using compatible mesh bodies. I got my copy for 69L if memory serves but if you’re planning on getting these bring…everyone and push those prices down. The riot vendors change out regularly and that only means more goodies.

A hunting we will go headshot

Getting lucky

Ahhh there we go, a close up picture of those fabulous earrings. While we’re on the subject of closeups, I found that skins from Deluxe Body Factory are just great for that. I love how realistic they look and those beauty marks only serve to make their faces more unique. Pictured is the Jasmine skin which I won off the Lucky Letter boards at Deluxe Body Factory. The prize package includes one classic skin in the tone chai as well as a brow shaper and an alpha layer to hide system eyelashes. Lucky Letters are free for group members but if you’re not currently one there is a one-time join fee of 299L. Personally, I find it worth the price as there are a lot of Lucky Letters at the store and Midnight Mania boards as well.

And that’s a wrap. Time to put my aching feet up unless Commander’s (the Polar Bear cub) gone and dug up the carpet again. Catch ya later guys!
