Ahoy there, Fab Free! My trusty sea dog, Ripley, spotted a Fabulous Find today through his spyglass, and sounded the alarm as he paced the deck of our ship. I followed his pointing nose, and caught sight of what looked to be the arms of a tentacled Kraken reaching above the waves, but it was actually the whimsical Octa dress from .Ecko. While I admired the dress from a distance, Ripley took control of the rudder, and piloted us safely to shore so I could net a Saturday Special Edition outfit to share with our wonderful readers.
The Dress
This strapless frock is the most recent free gift from .Ecko. for Fabulously Free in SL group members, and features white octopus arms playfully waving across a jet-black background. The gift comes in five standard mesh sizes for classic avatars, but hugged every curve of my Maitreya Lara body after adjusting the alpha layer. It left my shoulders bare to enjoy the caress of gentle ocean breezes as my pup and I continued our sea adventure to scope out the rest of my outfit.

Happy Sunday, Fab Free – my favorite day of the week! On these deliciously lazy days, Ripley and I venture on long walks, explore Second Life sims we’ve never journeyed to before, and rely on the Pupster’s keen nose to sniff out Fabulous Finds to share with our wonderful readers. Today, Ripley must have felt a bit nostalgic because he tracked down some items with a vintage flair.
A Fetching Floral Frock
I felt like I wrapped myself in romance when I slipped on Sweet E’s New Wrap Dress. It’s hard to believe this gorgeous frock is free, but it is 0L for the Fitmesh Fanatics Group (which is free to join). With its softly hued, floral fabric styled in a figure-hugging, flattering cut, I felt simply elegant. While the hem of this dress fell below my knees, it featured a leg-baring slit that offered freedom of movement, and a glimpse of my thigh…daring enough to be sensual, yet still providing coverage in all the right places. The gift also contained a shimmer skirt attachment, but I didn’t wear it for my picture.

Give a Girl the Right Shoes and She Can Conquer the World
To accompany this dress in real life, I’d don flat, strappy sandals during the day, then upgrade to a pair of heels to glam it up at night. Since this is SL, and I can walk all day in any shoes my heart desires (yay!), I went all out with Elisa Slink High Heels from the Cremosas Store. These free, open toed, ankle strap heels are a gift for the Teleport Hub Group (10L to join this group) and include a texture-change HUD to coordinate with your clothing. I especially like the silvery embellishments on the front of the shoes.
Finishing Touches
A simple, double-stranded pearl choker, an antique gold pendant, and heart earrings from League’s Vintage Jewelry Set were the only adornments I chose to add. I’m really pleased with the soft, gentle appeal of the entire ensemble, and I hope you like it, too. Until next Sunday, I wish you many opportunities to chase your dreams…in high heels, of course. 🙂
