Of flowers

Hello, once again dear Readers and welcome to the second edition of Edi’s Costume Ideas. I know, I know it’s probably not the snazziest of segment names but let’s get down to business, shall we? Today I bring to you the fantastically flowery Day of the Dead corset. This dramatic outfit is the new group gift from BlueMoon Enterprise and one that you can snap up for free just by joining the group. There is no sign-up fee so all you have to do is click and enjoy! With its color scheme of deep reds and blacks, this outfit is certain to be eye-catching.

I love the wonderful extras that come along with this gift. Together with the mesh corset, you will receive mesh garters, a mesh lace necklace, and panties just to name a few for starters. Aside from the panties, which comes in only system layers the corset, garters and necklace come in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L). Don’t worry about anything poking out though as both the corset and necklace come with spiffy alpha layers. Now comes the fun part, as you can choose to wear the outfit as is or add a bit of flowery flair to it using the different flower attachments that can be found in the package. Points of attachments are the waist, neck, and hair (not pictured) and you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

If by any chance the outfit is not already dramatic enough for you, you can add the waist sash and the train. In this age of mesh that we all live our Second Lives in I must admit that I don’t have a lot of flexi things in my inventory but the train is so much fun and I love the way it moves and swishes behind you.

To tie the whole look together I put on the White Stag mask from Hextraordinary that you can get by playing the store’s gacha machine at the Salem macabre market and gacha gallows. It’s 50L per play and there are so many great masks up for grabs. I’ll probably be heading over again just to see if I can win one of the rare ones! And speaking of gacha, the hair pictured is from Analog Dog’s latest offering at The Epiphany. I’m a lover of odd colors and tints for hair and was very pleased that this one comes with a number of different highlights.

However, if you don’t feel like wearing a mask, the Day of the Dead outfit comes with its own makeup layer. It’s aptly named Sugar Skull and it’s eye-popping colors stand out even if, like me, you’d like to hide in the shadows for a while.

Well! I’m off to see if there are other costumes to sniff out. Wish me luck and I’ll catch you later!

  1. What a bright and colorful outfit! It’s so cheerful. Love the close up of the face. 🙂

  2. I love this find! It makes me think cabaret, but you manage to give it an exciting twist and make it more “day of the dead”. What a fun post!

  3. Thank you Kathryn and Astrid both! I was attracted to the colors of the outfit like a moth to flame and when I saw the mask that just sealed the deal lol🙂
