I love masks. I pick up every one I can find, so you can imagine how much I love Halloween! Instead of a full costume this week, I want to share with you a pair of masks I picked up while hunting recently. First though, let’s take a look at what I am wearing above.
The Medieval Fantasy Hunt XIV is underway and, while I don’t have any actual medieval fantasies, it turns out that they are entirely optional! Acios gives us a unique hunt prize called The Inquisitor. It is a mesh outfit with the jacket, shirt, waistcoat and pants integrated into one great-looking garment. It comes packaged in five sizes to help with fitting and even includes shoes. The textures are elegant and this hunt item is available for FREE! I do have a few notes about The Inquisitor as I wear it in the picture. I added black socks from my inventory and increased the diameter of my neck and head slightly. It is not unusual for me to change my avy to get just the right fit. Also, the first time I wore the shoes, they appeared in my right hand. I am reaching out to the creator regarding the issue. Meanwhile, no worries! It is simple to correct: instead of choosing to “wear” them, select “attach” in the inventory menu and select “feet”. Then manually adjust them in the edit menu for a perfect fit. It was definitely worth picking up, and, In my oh-so-humble opinion, I think it makes me look fantastic!
Masks can be terrifying but they don’t have to be. They can be other things like mysterious and erotic, which brings me to the Masked Jester Half Mask from Trashed. The prize from the 1L Poppin’ Penguin Hunt Circus Edition, it comes together with a colorful jester’s hat and would be handy in putting together a costume like that. When I saw it though, visions of dark masquerade balls came to mind. It has a curvy, sensuous flow to the mesh and the half covered face is a highly eye catching look. It is black for a very masculine look and is resizeable to help get a great fit. However you decide you can use it, this is a very unique mask and definitely deserves some attention.
What would Halloween be without the other kind of mask? Representing the terrifying mask genre, here is one that might give you nightmares just looking at it. The Stitched Mask from Swagga has a delightful hand-stitched-from-human-skin kind of look, just perfect for today’s madman on the go! It goes with many different outfits, although I prefer the rural-maniac-who-lives-in-a-shack look. Its handcrafted, timeless style will never go out of fashion. Kidding aside, this is one nightmare-inducing Mesh mask and it is available for FREE! Celebrating the The Seasons Story Second Anniversary shopping event, it is a wonderful piece of work. Hurry up and get yours soon!
It has gotten late in the evening as I write this and I have become nearly giddy in my enthusiasm for the approaching holiday! I hope you enjoyed the costumes and items I have posted as much as I enjoyed ferreting them out. It has been great fun! Take care everyone and, until next time, see you on the grid!—–WHC Riler
