Casual Friday at the Cherry Cafe

Thank goodness it’s the weekend! RL work has been kicking my fanny, and I’m so happy to get out in the fresh air. I decided to take my bicycle for a spin and found this cute cafe at Bay City… perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and a good book. 😎

I’m wearing a mesh shorts and shirt combo, which is a group gift at CHANDELLE. Now, there are two different VIP groups at CHANDELLE: a free group and a not free group. This gift is for the free group. 🙂 The shirt comes in white and black, and the shorts come in black, blue, pink, sea (like a seafoam green), and purple, which I’m wearing. I should tell you that these items aren’t exactly made to fit standard sizing. I normally wear a size XS, but here I’m wearing M. But… they’re free, so give ’em a try, and see if there’s a size for you. My mesh ankle boots are a group gift from *COCO* (free to join). I decided to add a pair of socks from Maitreya, but the boots themselves do not come with socks.

I am so loving the new applier HUD nails for Slink Avatar Enhanced Hands! My RL nails are super short and unpolished, but I never have to leave my SL home without a perfect mani/pedi. These gorgeous nails are the new group gift from Izzie’s (250L to join). There are 10 different designs in the HUD, and appliers for both fingers and toes. My Analog Dog hair is not free, but is featured until May 12th at Genre for 100L. I ♥ the casual, yet sexy, Princess Leia buns. 😉 Love has shown you this Gold Heart Key necklace before, but I couldn’t resist wearing it myself. It comes in 3 different lengths, and is currently featured as a group gift at Energy Club (free to join). My little Pearl Daisies earrings are one of 3 pairs in a recent group gift from Gossamer Jewellery (I showed a different style here). You’ll find them in the group notices… still there as of tonight, but don’t dawdle, as they won’t be there much longer!

  2. The nails… When you say, “Different Designs”, do you also mean shape as well? I’d love to have an “upgraded” brand of Nails in my inventory.. 🙂

  3. Hello @Laoise! These are not prim nails, but rather are specifically designed to work with the *Slink Avatar Enhanced Mesh Hands*, so you must have a pair of those first. The hands themselves come with 3 different nail lengths: short, medium, and long (I’m wearing medium). Many designers have come out with different “HUD” nails, which change the colors of your Slink AE Nails. The nails, by Izzie’s, are a HUD with 10 different rainbow designs and colors. Mostly along the same color scheme as what I’m showing, but some are diagonal, some horizontal, etc. There’s a photo of all the designs at Izzie’s. You can read more about the Slink Mesh AE Hands and Feet at http://slinkstyle.com/the-slink-avatar-enhancement-system-customer-information. I never thought I’d wear mesh hands or feet, but I really do love them. 😀

  4. Serena, you take such beautiful pictures. I love your “doing real stuff” photos 😉

  5. For what it’s worth, you can buy SLink nails separate from and without using mesh hands at all and those HUDS will still work just fine with them. 🙂

  6. Thank you, @Love. When I try on an outfit, I always think, “What would I be doing if I was wearing this IRL?” Then I try to replicate that, if I can. I’m just not a “vendor photo” gal, I guess! 🙂

  7. @Jadelynne, I’m not aware that you can wear the Slink HUD nails with regular avatar hands. I’ll have to give it a try.

  8. You have to buy the SLink nail attachment that she has, of course, but they go right over the normal SL hands and the HUDS work with them. I’ve been getting fairly giddy with all the nail options lately and I love the rainbow ones you showed there. 🙂

  9. @Serena…I’m with Love…your photos always reflect everyday activities…so engaging. I like how you approach taking the pics and have to agree, for blog pics, I find “setting” shots over vendor pics. I save the vendor shots for my paid work with designers. Always such a pleasure reading your posts with fabulous pics. <3<3

  10. You are much too kind, @Xiu! Your comments always make my day. 🙂 I think my goal is to show how clothes/items will look “in the wild,” instead of in a perfect, studio environment. Most folks won’t sit around in a studio admiring themselves; they’ll be out and about wearing their clothes! Thank you for reading and for your sweet comments! 😀 ❤
