What’s With All The Sparkles Love?

Snapshot_004As a good friend of mine would say whilst blinking dramatically… “Dayam. Love! What is with all these blinding sparkles?”, and I would reply “ONE THOUSAND FABULOUSLY FREE POSTS, you knuckle head!” 😛

*Dances in the WordPress dashboard*

I can hardly believe it, but the numbers don’t lie!   This is my 1000th post for Fabulously Free in SL!  Before I start my whole spiel about the outfit that I am wearing.. which contains a couple of sweet group gifts, I just wanted to say that it has been my great pleasure to have had the honour to write these 1000 posts on Fabulously Free in SL, involving myself with some of the kindest people in Second Life.  These wonderful people include my creative co-bloggers, generous designers, hunt organizers, FabFree inworld group moderators, and YOU, our supportive-super-awesome readers!  THANK YOU!

Ok, ok…  Onto the goods!  The cute clover coloured Doll Dress that I am wearing is the latest group gift at Auxiliary.  This is a mesh design and has an adorable all over bird print and a ribbon bow.  The group is 1100L to join, but if you have been following this blog, you will see how generous the group has been with it’s gifts.  The Be My Prince gold necklace is the latest group gift at Sweet Leonard which is 70L to join.

The skin I am in, which is Al Vulo’s Arya Amethyst in a milk skin tone is not free, but it is just 70L this round at The Dressing Room Fusion and includes the skin with blonde and dark eyebrows as well as cleavage options, Tango appliers, and the eyes I am wearing as well.  Sweet deal if you ask me!

Just for a giggle – Here is my very first post on Fabulously Free in SL – https://fabfree.wordpress.com/2011/06/23/32793/, dated June 23rd, 2011.  That’s almost 2 years!  How’s that for a SL commitment? 🙂

What Is A Second Life Hunt?

Hunts in Second Life are a fun, and rewarding activity! There are several different styles of hunts… Some are free, and some charge a small fee per item.   One thing is for sure… Once you have been bitten by the hunting bug – you’ll be a SL hunt-a-holic!

What is a SL Hunt?

Grid Wide Hunt:

A group of designers will come together via a hunt organizer who has chosen a theme for their particular hunt.  Each of the merchants participating will hide a hunt icon in their shops, sometimes providing a hint of whereabouts.

Sim Wide Hunt:

The sim participating in the hunt will have hidden hunt icons throughout a sim.

Store Wide Hunt:

The store participating in the hunt will have hidden hunt icons throughout their store.

SL Hunting Resources:

Keep up to date with active and upcoming hunts within SL by visiting the following blogs:

There is also an inworld hunting resource center you may be interested in visiting:

FabFree’s How To Hunt Guide In Five Steps:

1.  Select a hunt from one of the resources above that suits your style and become familiar with the hunt icon you will be seeking.

2.  If there is an inworld group for your chosen hunt, join it so that you can receive help or give help to other hunters doing the same hunt.

3.  Remove all un-neccesary scripts / huds / prims so that you can easily move around shops to locate hidden hunt icons with minimal lag.

4.  If your hunt requires a hud, purchase and wear it as instructed.

5.  Some hunts will have a blog where you can find a list with slurls and hints and if you are really lucky a prize preview…  while some you will follow a LM trail.  How these work is, you go to the first stop, pick up the prize, and inside the prize there will be a LM to the next shop – which of course you take to continue your quest.

Hunting Tips:

*  By moving away from the TP landing spot when you first arrive, you won’t have 10 other avatars falling on your head.

*  Allow the shop to fully rez before you start your hunt.

*  Make a hunt folder and drag all of the prizes into that folder as you pick them up – that way they won’t get lost in your inventory.

*  Politely seek assistance from the hunt group if needed.

*  Make sure you look high and low, inside and outside and upside down because sometimes the hunt icons are in the craziest of places.

*  Find a hunt buddy – two sets of eyes are better than one.

*  Be patient and have fun!

Hunting Etiquette:

*  It is a big no-no to call out the location of a hunt item in local, or in groups or anywhere.  If you are hunting with a buddy or a group, use IM to communicate whereabouts privately so as not to ruin the hunting experience to others.

*  Say thank you to the shop owners, group helpers and organizers.  Of course you wont have time to send out 100 thank yous… but if you find something you really love, they will appreciate hearing so!

*  Never, ever complain about a hunt gift.  Always remember that while it may not be your taste, it will  be someone else’s.  Just delete it, and move on.

Do you have a hunting tip you’d like to see added to this list?  Send a notecard inworld to LOVE TRILL 🙂  Thanks!

Sassy! In Emerald

Happy Monday Fabulouses!  I have some great news today 🙂  Ivy Burner of Sassy! placed out a new group gift yesterday for her inworld group members in honour of St. Patrick’s Day, although I think this hot Emerald Spice Dress would be fantastic any day of the year.  Inside the gift is the beautiful mesh dress in a handful of sizes with an alpha layer.  The group is free to join, and there are several other gifts to take advantage of.

The skin I am in today is Essences Clover COLD and is in the sunkissed skin tone.  This skin in three makeup variations is available at The Dressing Room Fusion for just 70L per pack.  Each pack inclides the skin in four eyebrow colours, cleavage layers, skin applier and a few makeup blush tattoos too.

My necklace is one of the two group gifts for March that you can snag at +:+WTG+:+.  This one is called Nights in the Spring, and is unisex.  100L will buy you a membership at +:+WTG+:+ and after you join, you gain access to  two monthly group gifts, lucky boards and midnight mania prizes that are not open to the general public.
