Renee sent me a message and told me I NEEDED this new VIP gift from Needful Things and she was right!  How could I pass up a sweet free hat with my name on it?  (Thanks Renee!).  There is a 70L group fee, but many VIP gifts to be picked up that are WAY cute  such as the Loose Sweaterskirt, The Watering-Can Piercing, and the Slush Slurpy shown in the photo.  Also in store is a cute frog hat and a pair of hippie ear plugs (not shown in the photo) up as VIP gifts.

Also shown in the photo is this beautiful bikini that is a group gift at Shiki and the group is free to join.  Shiki has a TON of group gifts to be picked up – so have a peek!  The plumeria print on this bikini is so pretty and will make a fabulous addition to your summer wardrobe.

  1. I love your blog, but paying 70 or sometimes 250 L$ for a group (to get 1 ITEM) is not FabFREE in my opinion :-).

  2. Maybe you are new to the blog but we often show items that aren’t free but are fabulous in our opinion. We show L$0 – L$10 items on a regular basis, this includes sub-o gifts, group gifts, hunt prizes, lucky board, midnight mania, riot boards, etc. We also show special sales and charity events occasionally. There are groups that have a fee, but typically there are lots of gifts showered upon the members. If something is shown that a reader doesn’t like or that is out of their price range, there are TONS of other items showcased on FabFree. We try to accommodate everyone!

  3. I think that’s only partially right. Its fine to post items that are severely discounted/available after a joining fee, but there are a LOT of items featured recently that are not free in any sense of the word. One freebie/cheapie that I don’t like being displayed with a whole mess of expensive stuff I do like doesn’t help me at all. That’s fine if its just one person, but a lot of us are starting to feel that way.

  4. I’m sorry you feel that way. Would you like to make some rules as to what we can or can not blog? We have always shown group gifts even for groups that have a fee. Like I said above, we show L$0 – L$10 items on a regular basis, this includes sub-o gifts, group gifts, hunt prizes, lucky board, midnight mania, riot boards, etc. We also have always shown items that aren’t always free. Based on the views and clicks on the slurls on this particular post I know there are lots of readers that appreciate the information. I’ve blogged group gifts from both of the groups mentioned many times before. Check my posts and I show full price hair, skin, and shoes all the time and always have. It’s nothing new, since 2007 we have shown gifts from paid groups. We also show free items, and things that are not free.

  5. I would only suggest that you maybe only tag for categories where you feature a free/reduced item. Its frustrating to filter for Hair and less than 1/5 of the posts tagged hair actually have free/reduced hair.

  6. We label what is and isn’t free on each entry. Our loyal readers have no problem with finding that info on the posts. Just like on ANY SL blog there are going to be items shown that aren’t free. I for one believe that all creators deserve to be credited on blogs even if the items used aren’t free. I guess I’m just loyal to the hard working designers out there.

  7. Hey Renee — make sure all the models are bald when you model freebies so SKW doesn’t have to be bothered.

  8. Doh! /me likes his hair. Just for the record, my “normal” hair was a FREE gift from LeLutka. But it’s guys hair. I hope that doesn’t cause confusion too.

  9. That lip piercing is adorable! Can’t imagine wearing something that heavy in RL, but hey, that’s the beauty of SL!

Great posts, keep up the good work!

  13. I must have missed the part where I said that non-free items shouldn’t be credited. Let me check… wait what? I never said that? Well I’ll be. Just said tagged. Tagging and crediting at the bottom of a post are two very different things. This post doesn’t tag hair that isn’t free. Others do.

  14. Yeah on my posts (the blog OWNER) I tag and credit everything. I think the designers deserve to have everything credited. Also based on comments and group discussions in FabFree, many of our readers come for the items that aren’t free as well, so when they filter they can find free and non-free hair or whatever item they are looking for.

  15. Just a suggestion. That’s all any of this ever has been. Suggesting. If you didn’t want suggestions, you might want to close comments.

  16. I understand it is a suggestion and appreciate that. But our loyal readers that follow the blog should not have a problem with it. The loyal readers know what free items we’ve posted lately because they are regularly reading the blog.
