I was posting photos on my flickr last night, when I saw this amazing hunt gift from the “What’s the News” Hunt. I had to figure out what to do with it. It was pink, it was a dress, AND IT MUST BE MINE! You can see it in all it’s female glory post “Stolan Butcherage”. Dagmar posted pics HERE and Raven posted pics HERE. The hunt has a tonne of male items, but that would be too easy for me to blog right? Want to know more about the hunt? Go to the official blog HERE.

So the amazing designer from Diavolicious made the dress. The store itself is a fun one, and she does seem to make at least one male item for ever 2 or 3 female ones. Now the dress is just as amazing as most of Diav Draconia’s creations. I just had to see what I could do with it, and tho not my colour, it was too good to pass up.

I then started my quest to become an Octo-somethingorother.

I found this awesome Seaserpent tattoo on the Depraved Newyears hunt. It is the gift from Endless Pain Tattoos. The hair is from this totally awesome hair store called Black Maria. Now I have seen their hairs on the feeds and various blogs, but it always seems to be the same ones. They off a bunch of nice ones, so experiment a bit. The store isn’t for the tame of heart, you wont find normal here!

Yesterday I got a nice tip in the FabFree chatgroup inworld about a place that offers skins for Guys and Chics. It’s Called Heaven’s Gate, and this skin had to be my favorite out of all offered there. Other than the lovely Vampire Bride Skins, I’m a little envious of you ladies being able to get those, you all need to have them. Once in inventory, go on mass and storm the grid. We’ll make it a national SL holiday.

I figured not all of you might have visited my blog, so I’m throwing on the first makeup I ever found, that is free on The Marketplace. It is perfect for this, cause tho it is a crying type makeup, it can also work for octopus ink.

The Eyes are part of the big giftpack sent to the Plastik group. There is a bunch of stuff in the notices, but not for much longer. Mostly for the ladies(there are even skins!) but there are a few male items, and unisex. There is also the option of doing what I do, and just butcher things to work for the men. People need to play more.

I was feeling fairly good about all this, then noticed the top of the dress sort of looked silly. It would normally connect to the top, but ya, I wasn’t wearing it. So I figured a belt would hide the seem enough to not look silly. I switched the attachment point of a Sey belt I had picked up, and perfect! All done!

Wait!

Something is still missing! Oh right, a big ass weapon, how could I forget?

I was told to go to a place called OMFG(ya it really stands for that). Failed Inventor, the original avi behind the store label, has now retired his store items, but due to popular request, he has brought his alt’s inventory back out in one big free box. Be careful when you unpack it, it really is the whole store full of inventory that plops out at once.

Failed Inventor now makes sculpt packs for creators to use in their products. He even has a free one for offer(I’m not telling you where it is tho, you will have to take the time to look), so even if mass amounts of weapons and armour isn’t your thing, it’s worth a visit to look around.

The only other way to make this outfit even more perfect would be to get an underwear layer that was V2 enabled Alpha, so that your legs would hide. You could swim around with the mermaids, and maybe pick up one. I hear tentacles are the new pink, even when they are pink!

  1. Hey Stolan, awesome Post! You made that Octo Thingie really uniquely!

  2. I love the hair bandana look. The color is great. Looking forward to reading your blogs!

  3. O…M…G

This was the funniest thing I have read on a blog in a long time. Loved it! You are truly going to make SL your own creative world, aren’t you? 😀 Keep up the fab job on FabFree!

  4. Very clever and unique post on making items work!

  5. @ Raven

Ya it had to go in that direction, anything but would not have worked!

    @ Lynn

I almost retextured the bandana, but then the eyes sort of made it work. It might not be sculpted like some, but it works great.

    @ Ophelia

I’m glad I’m making you laugh. It’s something that should happen at least every day.

I think I will take sl by storm, just wait till I decide to start making things!

    @ Sabryne

Ya there is too many items that could go both ways and get passed up due to a closed mind. Even some women might not like that dress, but to use it as something else might in fact work. I think it could make a nice houselamp too.

  6. Ahhhh too excellent! lol! That was a fantastic blog post, and I am so excited to see more! Really very unique 🙂

  7. Really great post, thank you ! 🙂 I love it 🙂

  8. @ Wild

I’ll try to bring you some more fun ones! It’s my aim. Not that I don’t like to go around just looking like a normal dude from time to time, but playing is also part of the game right? Too many talented designers in many genres to pass it by. Plus we got Carson, if I didn’t blog what I do, we’d probly post the same items! haha! We’d need to have blogging pow-wows.

    @ Diav

I’m glad you enjoyed it, I had a blast doing it.
