Simply Fabulous Free and Under L$75 Finds in Second Life – Since 2007

What Shapes Us

We all are on Second life for different reasons.  Some of us are here to enhance our real lives, some come to escape the harsh realities that we face day to day,  some are here to to forget, some to remember.

No matter what reasons we are here, we bond.  We make friendships and form relationships that go beyond what we ever imagined we’d find.  We laugh, we cry, we live, and we share our experiences good and bad.

We are all unique, different from each other in our own ways.  None of us look the same, talk the same, or feel the same.  We are individuals, yet we share this commonality… this bond.  We share this world.  The good, the bad, the laughs, the tears, the love, the heartache.  We share it all.

We take a lot from this world.  Sometimes the things that happen here affect us so deeply that they effect our first lives.

We bring different aspects to this game… this world, but the element we all bring is the Human Experience.  Only two things are real in our second life, the emotion and the money.

In this world material possession mean nothing.  It does not matter what you do for a living or how much money you make.  It does not matter if we are wearing hand-me-downs or the latest fashions.  It does not matter what we look like, if we are tall, fat, skinny, short, dark skin, light skin.  All that can be changed by the click of a button.  The only thing that truly matters in our world, is how we treat one another and the words we leave.

We love, we help, and yes we even hurt each other.  And we can’t live in the world alone – we all need each other.

  1. Well said, yes well said!!!
    *claps loudly*

  2. We have shared the good, the bad, the laughs, the tears, the love, and the heartache. Thank you for being who you are. Unfortunately there are some people who are not happy unless they are making other miserable. As I have said to you in the past, don’t feed your trolls. 😉 Let them go hungry.

You have been a huge supporter of designer’s rights from the day we met. You are always looking out for others before yourself. You are a beautiful person. Don’t ever forget that.

  3. You said it very nicely and I agree with you. For me, amazing thing in this world/game is that we can FEEL each other, without seeing us. And usually it takes only few lines of chat to figure out what kind of person is behind comp monitor. It might be a virtual world, but feeling are more then real. Money too, yes ,)

  4. *smiles*

    I agree.

  5. Renee,

Once again you have blown me away. It is so true, we love, we laugh, we hate, we shop till we fall asleep. But the only thing that really matter is the way we feel

We do need each other, that’s for sure! I am glad to share this life with so many amazing people including yourself.

I am also glad to be part of this FabFree community. I am sure many can say that.

HUGS Renee and crew for all you do to keep us beautiful, emotional and most of all, all that you do to make our sl experience affordable and reliable.

    We love you all

  6. I couldn’t agree more. We all seem to get caught up in the surface things. Some of us do more than others, but I think everyone does to a certain extent.

What really matters is what lies below the surface.

  7. Wow that was really awesome!!!

  8. Very nicely said. It is always good to remind us all that we are on this earth a short time. We come into the world owning nothing and we can’t take any of our “acquisitions” with us.

I have met many really nice people in SL.

  9. Absolutely agreed, great post, thank you *claps*

  10. I couldnt agree with you more Renee.. SL should be a place where people can be free without having to worry about others criticising them. There is enough of that in RL. Do we really need it in SL aswell?

As I always said, different strokes for different folks.. if we all looked the same the world, both virtual and real, would be a boring place indeed.. and I don’t want to live in either world where its full of clones.

I believe what makes us beautiful are our imperfections. Our uniqueness.. our individuality. So you may not like my big thighs, my fat stomach, my pink hair, my short legs.. I don’t care.. I like them and nothing you can say will make me feel any different. It has taken me years to be comfortable in my SL skin which in turn is something that is helping me to be comfortable in my RL skin.

I won’t change myself for anyone.. I don’t expect anyone to change themselves for me. Everyone is and can be beautiful in their own special way.

Time is too precious to spend it trying to find and pick faults in other people.. and in the end you will only make yourself unhappy.

  11. This is so very true and beautiful. Second life is totally an escape of what i go through every day. Great writing renee 😀 I think you are so fabulous

  12. “We love, we help, and yes we even hurt each other. And
we can’t live in the world alone – we all need each other.”

You have such a great way of writing things down, Renee. Thank you for these great words. An inspiration.

    /me *hugs Renee*

  13. Thinks people need to realize that you writers don’t do this to make money, you do it because you love it. It is your fun.

Making yourself as unique as you like is what makes SL fun.

  14. SL allows us to be who WE want to be, not to live up to others expectations. Tolls and haters thrive on feedback. The best thing to do is to smile and thank them for their opinion. But as we all know, everyone has an opinion and never will everyone’s opinion be the same.
    And Renee….
“Don’t go changin’, to try and please us. We love you just the way you are!” (with apologies to Billy Joel)

  15. That was really beautiful. I love this group. I love the chat and whether it’s just silly fun or something I may or may not agree with, it always makes me chuckle. I can’t imagine how I ever got around in SL without it. It was deafeningly silent. (Is that a word?) And Whisper, who wouldn’t love your sl look? I think you have the most beautiful avatar in SL.

  16. Yes, i agree with Sparrow Madrigal, it is more imprtant what lies beneath, and usually people have very good ways of hiding that
