The Fisherman

Ah… what a beautiful morning for some fishing on the lake. So far, I haven’t caught anything, but I’m not ready to go home yet. Good thing I brought my lunch. Anyway, my fishing gear today consists of these great cargo pants and skullie shirt by Ruca Tease for the Color Explosion Hunt. Care and Love have already shown you a few ladies items from this hunt, but there are also men’s prizes to be found. The hunt runs until May 31st, and all prizes are free. Casual Friday at the Cherry Cafe

Thank goodness it’s the weekend! RL work has been kicking my fanny, and I’m so happy to get out in the fresh air. I decided to take my bicycle for a spin and found this cute cafe at Bay City… perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and a good book.

I’m wearing a mesh shorts and shirt combo, which is a group gift at CHANDELLE. Now, there are two different VIP groups at CHANDELLE: a free group and a not free group. This gift is for the free group. The shirt comes in white and black, and the shorts come in black, blue, pink, sea (like a seafoam green), and purple, which I’m wearing. I should tell you that these items aren’t exactly made to fit standard sizing. I normally wear a size XS, but here I’m wearing M. But… they’re free, so give ‘em a try, and see if there’s a size for you. My mesh ankle boots are a group gift from *COCO* (free to join). I decided to add a pair of socks from Maitreya, but the boots themselves do not come with socks.

I am so loving the new applier HUD nails for Slink Avatar Enhanced Hands! My RL nails are super short and unpolished, but I never have to leave my SL home without a perfect mani/pedi. These gorgeous nails are the new group gift from Izzie’s (250L to join). There are 10 different designs in the HUD, and appliers for both fingers and toes. My Analog Dog hair is not free, but is featured until May 12th at Genre for 100L. I ♥ the casual, yet sexy, Princess Leia buns.  Love has shown you this Gold Heart Key necklace before, but I couldn’t resist wearing it myself. It comes in 3 different lengths, and is currently featured as a group gift at Energy Club (free to join). My little Pearl Daisies earrings are one of 3 pairs in a recent group gift from Gossamer Jewellery (I showed a different style here). Fun in the Sun!!!

Hey there you fabulous ones!!!   So the weather is warming up, and here in Second Life we get to explore both the Land and Sea in one swoop!  So put on your favorite bathing suit, whether it be a bikini or a wetsuit and head on over to the Sand and Sea Expo for some fun in the sun!!  (Your windlight preference is your choice, but the default is awfully pretty)  (Love posted the linkies how to get to both sides in her post  ”The First Annual Sand & Sea Expo – 2013!”)

I spent my day exploring the beach side of the Sand & Sea Expo (Beach Entrance)  (Truth had just done my hair and I didn’t want to get it all frazzled and soaked!! ) and wanted to share with you some of the sights!!

Dog Day Afternoon

You know the expression, “Going to the dogs?” Well, that’s pretty much where my day has gone. In addition to the many, many SL problems, there have been family interruptions, phones and doorbells ringing, and numerous computer problems that have left me eyeing the hammer for a solution. I had so much trouble taking this photo that I finally just gave up and went with one of the few shots I managed to get. So I apologize for the goofy errors you see here.

Ok, enough whining. I’m sure you’d rather know what we’re wearing, anyway.

Gavin and I are both wearing the April group gifts from Vero Modero. Gavin’s outfit includes the mesh hoodie and pants, and mine is this floral print, mesh dress. The sleeves of my dress are supposed to have the cutouts you see here, but the additional little “hole” is a break in the mesh from this pose, which I didn’t notice until after I had given up on the photos. I didn’t want you to think it was a flaw in the dress, because it’s not (Gavin’s pants have a little rip in the right leg, but that’s supposed to be there). Our necklaces are group gifts from Chop Zuey (350L to join). I apologize that you can’t see the earrings hidden in my hair, and bracelets that Gavin is blocking, as both are free gifts for everyone – no group is needed! If you have ventured into the world of mesh feet/hands, you’ve most likely heard that many skin designers have released texture applier HUDs for the recently updated Slink feet and hands. I won’t get into the details here, since several other bloggers have already written detailed posts on the how’s and why’s of using them. But I will say this: I’ve wasted spent many, MANY hours trying to match my feet to different skins, and it wasn’t easy. These appliers are literally ONE click to match. It’s that simple! To celebrate, [:Tuli:] is offering these cute henna tattoo appliers for her group members (199L to join). These are actual appliers for the Slink mesh feet – not simple tattoo layers – and include 3 different henna tattoos. Oh no! Gavin and I were spending a relaxing afternoon together, and now I walk in to find that Nessie has left me a little… present!  BAD NESSIE! Sigh… it has really been one of those days, so I guess this should be no surprise.

While I’m cleaning up, take a look at Gavin. He’s wearing the new Chris skin/shape/hair from REDGRAVE. Not free, but soooo handsome! Feeling the Love on Valentine’s Day

I’m in love! Yeah, I know, who doesn’t love a man in a tuxedo, right? Lucky for Gavin, I found this snazzy mesh tux at Sin Original as part of the Love Love Hunt. Even the shoes are included – not bad for only 1L! He’s also wearing the new Goldy Teal gift eyes from Amacci – no group join is needed.

My dress is a free Valentine’s Day gift from Snowpaws; there is also a petite version available, so ladies of all sizes can look dazzling today. Oh, and I got our dancing pose at the Valentine’s Sale at Glitterati Poses; all couples and friends poses are on sale until 21 February.

Gavin is a great guy, but I’m so in love with these SHOES! I joined the [Gos] Boutique group for free back when it first opened up, and I’m so glad I did; these special edition Grace Sandals Red Glitter are a brand-new gift for group members. The join fee is 500L now, but… the Grace Sandals regularly cost more than the join fee, so pick up this gift and you’ve got your $L back. Part of what makes these shoes so amazing is the skin matching. To say that it’s easy – and it works! – would be an understatement. Seriously, a couple of clicks and you’re done. It Was A Cold Winter Night… Outside These Four Walls

It may have been a cold, winter night outside, but inside these four walls, it was warm and cozy! Like Love, I recently did a little Cold Winter Nights Hunting. And she did not exaggerate about how fabulous the prizes are in this hunt! Check out Love’s post here for more information about the Cold Winter Night Hunt and for photos of some of the great prizes she picked up.

I invited Gavin over to see my new Little Getaway Skybox, the CWNH prize from Designer Prims. I had so much fun playing with the options on this amazing skybox that I may have gotten an eensy bit carried away. Seriously though, there is almost nothing you can’t mod, so you can customize it to be whatever you want it to be. There’s a menu-driven panel to change the floor, brick walls, and accent wood; the rest you can just re-texture yourself. Trust me, your 10L will be well spent on this one! The furniture you see here (most of it) is part of the hunt prize from Cleo Design. It includes two different sofas, a rug, coffee table with candles and fruit, a magazine rack, and a mirror and set of pictures that you can’t see in this picture. Again, I went a little nuts playing with the color options on the sofas. They come with several fun animations, and even dispense props! The lovely artwork you see over the green sofa not a hunt prize, but is a gift from Whiskey Monday to celebrate the first anniversary of Atelier Kreslo. There is also second gift, which I’ll show you in a bit.

I had this empty back wall and nothing to fill it up, so I accidentally on-purpose wandered off into another hunt: The Four Walls Hunt.

The Four Walls Hunt runs until January 31st, and includes 37 stores. All prizes are 20L, but are valued at 200L or more. Be sure to visit the official blog for prize photos and SLURLs. You’ll be hunting for an evergreen tree in a cardboard box.

Ok, back to my empty wall: I saw a picture of the Miller Dresser and Positive Words Art from PILOT and decided that I absolutely had to have it. Can you believe the dresser is only 2 L.I.? Oh, and see that cakestand full of delicious cupcakes? Another Four Walls prize, this time from Sway’s. It comes with the plates and cups you saw on the table in the previous pictures, as well as a couple of cute wall-hangings. Yummy! The Bird Cage Lamp is not a hunt item, but rather a free gift from Sway’s. There is also a smaller version in the box. Over in the corner is another non-hunt item, the Mayfair Trunk (Old Glory), a VIP group gift from {what next} (250L to join). The bookcase and furnishings inside are part of the skybox.

Gavin is such a “Sheldon” that I decided to pick up the Star Party star-gazing set, the CWNH prize from -Hanaya-. It is mesh, weighs in at 9 L.I., and comes with menu-driven animations for up to three avatars. It’s really a lot of fun to play with. Hey, looks like Gavin found something!

Here is an outside view of the skybox. The inside brick texture carries to the outside wall. There is a door on the other side, in case you decide to put your home on land instead of floating in the sky.

More evidence of my “modding madness”: I took out the fireplace that came with the skybox and added this Oak Fireplace, the CWNH prize from [Barnesworth Anubis]. The mirror over the mantle and the two pictures to the left of the fireplace are part of the Cleo Design CWNH prize. And the little daisy on a chair is the other anniversary gift from Atelier Kreslo; it comes in 3 sizes, with this one being the largest. To the right of the fireplace is the Pallet Log Box, the most recent VIP group gift from {what next}. Gavin and I decided to finish off those cupcakes; we’re snuggling in the Warming Up couples pose, the CWNH prize from Atooly.

Hot Stuff in the Cold Snow

I decided to “play hooky” today and take Nessie out for a little fun in the snow. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem to be having as much fun as I am, but she’s being an awfully good sport about it!
