Looks Like A Cold, Cold Winter

Hey, how’s YOUR weather?  I mean, mine has been hurricane level insanity without the cold, but the rest of the States have been having a crazy winter storm!  I just knew it was too early to be showing off cute little pink dresses while the weather rages outside!

Stay Cozy

Thankfully, Gabriel has a gorgeous winter coat for both men and women free as a group gift this month!  It fits perfectly and keeps me nice and toasty (even if IRL I have my air conditioning on while the rest of the country freezes.)  Now, I personally like to consider all fluffy stuff in SL FAUX fur, because I would never wear real fur IRL – but this coat is the nicest ‘faux’ suede and lambs wool around.  It comes in 6 or so colors (no hud)  and also a turtleneck and a tank top for underneath in both white and black.  Of course I had to blog it because it’s rigged for both male and female bodies:

I know people who live in cold climates are usually ready to pack up all the frigid temps and snow after the holidays – but winter never parts so easily or quickly.  If you have to suffer in the cold, at least you’ll look super cute while you do so!

Snowflake

I hope you all don’t mind me showing you more free gifts while I’m out in yet another snowy forest.  The destinations in the wintertime are a sight to behold, and I just can’t get enough.  Aside from all the troves of gifts that I collect, getting out across the grid is really the best part of this gig.  Besides, who wants to stand in their SLhouse all day sorting inventory?  (I sure could stand to do that though.)

Snow-booty

The last free gift I’m wearing today came from the Holiday Shop&Hop and are my boots from Phedora.  This is another unisex gift with sizes for male and female bodies, plus a color hud to change the platform, main and puffy top part of the boot.  There are solid colors and holiday patterns and they keep your feets nice and toasty 😉  They come sized for Maitreya, Legacy M&F, Gianni, Jake, Kario, Kupra, Reborn and Gen X!  Almost everyone can wear these cute boots!  All you have to do it pop over and grab the gift, no group is required, all the gifts there are free and waiting for you to take them home.

Day Of The Dead

I find one of the most beautiful of holidays, is the one where we celebrate those we have lost.  All around the world, this holiday that originated in Mexico, Día de Muertos, is celebrated in many different ways, almost always including marigolds, Pan de muerto and sugar skulls.  Now THAT is a holiday!

I’ve lost two of my closest friends in SL years ago, my dear friend G who I joined SL with lived in Mexico and the other, my friend the Batman, was of Mexican descent.  Today, with this awesome free outfit from Byrne, I celebrate them and too many others we’ve lost along the way.

Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground

Sigh.  One of our favorite months in Second Life has come and passed.  October is such a fun month here, all the regions change to autumn, and all the residents dress up in costumes, and there are always so many fun things to do (not to mention all the free gifts!)
And then, before you know it, it’s November.  November is one of those quiet months, where you should have time to clean and sort your inventories from the hustle and bustle of Halloween events (sure you will – lol).  Fortunately, there’s still some events happening that will transition us between Autumn and Winter (and their holidays!)

Through Anything

No matter what, my guy and I can make it through anything. Through thick and through thin, through the crashing of planes, the exploding of bombs, a new world regime! Anything at all could happen, and we’d come out on top, and look awesome while doing so. Okay, I admit that was a bit dramatic, but thanks to Second Life we can live through our stories. The foundation of my look for this post, and Blue’s, is this amazing jacket by Contraption. Not only is it highly detailed, it comes sized to fit both male and female avatars. Birth

Finally, the detailed mandala-like design shaved into the back of Blue’s head just so happens to be a current Mens Stuff Hunt gift available at Birth.
