Cashmere and Suede: Tuesday’s Temptation

Laptop, scanner, magnifying glass… I’m heading out for a long day of research at the library, and I sure hope I didn’t forget anything. I certainly didn’t forget to wear this fabulous new group gift from Baby Monkey. The group is 250L to join, but in this gift alone you get the mesh sweater and skirt, plus these cute ankle boots. What’s Better Than Chocolate?

In my humble opinion, nothing is better than chocolate. Oh, I know what the implication is here, but think about it, ladies. Chocolate is always reliable, always there when you need it. Chocolate never has a bad attitude or wants to watch the game. Have you ever had disappointing chocolate? I didn’t think so. Any chocolate is usually good chocolate! Did you ever eat some chocolate and really regret it later? Well, ok… I’ll give you that one. But at least you didn’t have to do the chocolate “walk of shame,” right?

So, for this week’s 50 Shades of Sexy prompt, “Better than chocolate,” I am wearing this lovely ensemble by {Etiquette} called Danica – Chocolate (of course). The set is 10L on the Marketplace, and you also get two additional bra/panty sets in coordinating colors. The detailing is really very pretty, and there is juuust enough peek-a-boo to give a taste, if you know what I mean. Let’s Go Fly a Kite!

It was so beautiful outside today that I grabbed my kite and took Nessie along for some playtime at the dog park. She was going a little stir crazy, and frankly so was I! This cute Carora dress was sent out to Hucci subscribers recently, and seemed perfect for a warm day at the park. It has a belt in “midnight” as well as the yellow one I’m wearing, and it comes in standard, as well as “curvy” mesh sizes. My kite pose and prop is a free gift from aDORKable Poses; you’ll find it in the corner next to the entrance.

My jewelry is the Flower Season Set by Moonshadow, and is a free gift on the Marketplace. My hair is mint earth from Analog Dog, and can be found in the “freebie bubble” down on the beach (fly over the store and down to the beach where the trailer is parked). Just Because the Gentleman Needed a Makeover

When I invited Gavin over this afternoon, it was under the pretense that we would be watching the Lakers play Miami… or something like that. But surprise! Gavin was ambushed, and I dragged him out to get some new clothes. Seriously, I was so sick and tired of seeing him in those holey jeans and raggedy t-shirts with the ring-around-the-collar. It was way past time for some new threads!

Gavin is glaring at me with the free Oriental Pearl eyes from Poetic Colors; you can find them on the back wall under the Freebie sign. His taupe mesh sweater is the Thugs, Studs and Gentlemen Hunt gift from [American Bazaar] and his mesh jeans are the TSGH gift from ~Moonlight Pointe Creations~. All gifts in the TSGH are free (0L). We added the texture-changing Wide Scarf from ::[Mr.Poet]::, and a pair of brown dress shoes from ::GABRIEL::. My jeans and Autumn Harlequin sweater are the 2nd Anniversary group gift from *Just Because* (free to join). My boots are not free, but I just couldn’t help myself. Taxi! TAXI!!

Why is it so hard to get a cab in this town? I thought if I showed a little leg using this sexy pose by Ma Vie I’d get a cab right away for sure.

No such luck… looks like I’ll be “hoofing it” to the party. Oh well, at least I’ll look good doing it. This stunning, teal cocktail dress is one of this month’s group gifts from Hudson’s Clothing Co. (free to join). Message In A Bottle Across The Sea… Hole

After being stranded on my land for hours today, unable to teleport out (thanks Firestorm!), I decided to do a little marketplace shopping and pick up a message in a bottle kit!  I sent out an SOS to the world, and I hope that someone gets my, I hope that someone gets my, I hope that someone gets my.. Message in a bottle!

This bottle btw.. is very cute, you can send a real message and place it out for someone special – just 10L on marketplace!

I had been to Collabor88 earlier on a mission to find the Glam Affair skins that Serena showed earlier.  Such lovely skins at a wonderful price, I picked up Trending 2 for 188L, athough I may have to go back and pick up the other two as well.. and then kick myself for not grabbing the fatpack in the first place.

While I was down there at Collabor88, I noticed that they have a wonderful group gift available.  The group is free to join, and after you have joined you can pick up The Sea Hole Cassia Glitter Mini Dresses in a fatpack of colours.  I am wearing the cafe shade.  D!va also has their Marie hair in two versions set out for free at their display in two versions, including a hud that allows you to change the length of the hair and it comes in a fatpack of colours.

More Avatars Choose Sascha’s Designs!

The 2012 Avi Choice Awards were presented last month, recognizing SL residents’ favorite picks in a variety of categories from across the grid. Winning in the Favorite Womens Apparel category (2nd year in a row!) was Sascha Frangilli of Sascha’s Designs. In expression of her appreciation, Sascha has gifted us all with this beautiful, golden Avi Choice Awards 2012 gown. Please note that the gown is free for EVERYONE until January 15, 2013; after that, it will only be free for members of the Sascha’s Designs group.

This amazing gown comes with matching gloves, and several options for the skirt and bodice, so you can mix and match to get your favorite look. Above, I’m showing the full “fluffer” skirt with the bolero jacket. I think this one is my favorite (but it’s so hard to choose!).

This looks is more simple, using the sleek flexi skirt and “boobies frizzle.” I should mention that the skirts of Sascha’s dresses come with a resizer script so you can make them as long and dramatic as you wish.

Finally, this look again uses the “fluffer” skirt, this time with both of the triple straps.

My skin is the new Renee – Trending skin by Glam Affair, available at the January round of Collabor88 (188L). And since the dress is so spectacular on its own, I decided to go with some simple jewelry. This Gold Smokey Quartz set is by PD/ Mayoness, and is only 1L on the Marketplace (it also comes with a matching bracelet).
