She’s a Happy Camper

Hello there, Fabulous Readers!  In the midst of holiday shopping, Rip and I decided to take a break over at Etchaflesh.  A few days ago, in my post [HERE], the pupster and I featured a stylish vest we picked up at the store, and we decided to return today to camp awhile.  We were very well rewarded!

Pick Your Poison

While Ripley happily gnawed on a bone, I relaxed for just 35 minutes in one of the plush chairs arranged along the back wall of the store.  Right when the time elapsed, this cozy Poison sweater joined my inventory.  In addition to the knitted pullover, the free prize package included a HUD with 15 color choices for changing up the texture of the arms.  Featuring a scooped neck line, long sleeves, and a realistic ribbed texture, this sweater is destined to become a winter wardrobe staple for me.  I appreciated its generous length, which ensured my tummy stayed toasty warm.

Avoiding a Cuff Malfunction

I wanted to don a pair of boots to wear while romping with Ripley through the snowy climate of It All Starts With a Smile.  The only problem was the bottom edge of my pants poked right through the sides of my boots …. one of those dreaded SL wardrobe mishaps that never occurs in real life.  After a quick perusing of the Marketplace, I netted this Purrrvy Skinny Jeans applier from the IGNOTO store for only 25L.  Although I applied the jeans on my Maitreya Lara mesh body, they are also designed for Belleza, Slink, and Omega.  With a flattering fit, detailed stitching, and a dark denim wash, these jeans are perfect for casual wear, or they can be easily dressed up with the right layers and shoes.  Best of all, they behave themselves, and don’t project through my boots.  Yay!

As you can see in my photo, Ripley and I have a few packages to deliver before nightfall, so we’d better get pedaling.  Until next time, happy shopping!

Hello Fabulouses! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  In real life, I try to stay *far* away from malls and shopping on Black Friday, and the next couple of days afterwards.  It seems like whenever I think I’ve found a parking spot, it turns out to be a small car!  In SL, it’s a different story – no worries about parking here!  With a day off from work, Ripley and I traveled around, scoping out another Fabulous Find to share with our wonderful readers.

Gone Camping

Over at Etchaflesh, I had no trouble finding a parking spot.  In fact, I brought my trusty Kindle, along with the pupster’s favorite bone, and we settled into one of eight cozy camping chairs placed on the back wall of the store.  After just 30 minutes of “parking,” I happily welcomed this sassy, sleeveless parka to the fold for free.  It features a crop top, and a long vest that is accented with several jazzy buttons, stars, and stripes.  A color-change HUD allows you to alter the texture of the vest (outer and inner lining), crop top, and the decorative buttons, stars, and stripes individually, so you can create a variety of looks.

I’ve Got My Sassy Pants on Today

The trendy style of my parka called for slacks with attitude, and I located the perfect trousers – Pencil Pants for Maitreya by Beck.  These black, laced, leather pants provided just the look I was striving for.  I love the detail of the tied lacing.  Created exclusively for the Maitreya Lara mesh body, Mie Beck offers them for sale in her Marketplace shop for only 50L.  Mie states on her profile that her goal is to make a place where all people can afford to wear 100% mesh outfits.  These pants are not only budget-friendly, but stylish to boot!

From Head to Toe

The one Black Friday sale that Rip and I dared to venture to was at Truth Hair (Love told us about this super-saver event in her post [HERE]).  I scooped up the versatile Fenella hair for only 75L.  Able to be worn with and without the fedora, this chic ‘do features long, flowing locks, and a color-change HUD for the hat.  We had a hard time wading our way through the crowd in the lobby of the Truth store, but our persistence really paid off in the end.  I was able to scoop up several hairstyles at bargain prices.  Score for team Ripley!

After slipping on Lewis studded, flat sneakers from the Mesh Agency, Rip and I dusted off the bike, and pedaled over to the Gates of Melancholy sim where we worked off some of those Thanksgiving dinner calories by exploring along the beach.

Afternoon at the Museum

If you haven’t had the chance to visit the Second Life Natural History Museum, it is totally worth a stop.  There is tons to explore, not to mention some pretty impressive dinosaur builds.   You might even learn something too!

An afternoon at the museum calls for a great new outfit, luckily I happened to stop by one of my favorite stores as they were gearing up for an event.  Etchaflesh is hosting a Halloween hunt again this year, with a wall full of 12 gorgeous prizes.  Swing by, grab a hud, find all of the tombstones and you can take your pick!  You can play once each day, and get every item off the wall for your trick-or-treat basket before the hunt ends October 31st.

I snagged up this cute knotted tank and stripped capris over the course of two days.  The capris include a pretty sweet color change hud.

There is no group needed, and the hunt is completely free!

I needed a little something to round out my outfit, so I hopped on over to Earthstones to take a look at their wall of group gifts.  I snapped up this great earrings and bracelet set, and a load of other jewelry.  The group is $250 to join, but there are over a dozen beautiful and classy items to snag, making this one totally worth the money.

Casual Mondays

Over at the Valyria sim, there is a really fun hunt going on, offering gifts for both men and women.  Now through June 3oth, you can pick up a hunt HUD (and instructions!) in the middle of the shopping center.  Wear the hud, and explore the sim to find 24 red Xs.  When your HUD is full, you turn it in back at the HUD kiosk and pick out one of the amazing prizes.  You can earn one item per day, and I will be going back to collect them all.  This outfit, Amelia, is one of the prizes offered up by Etchaflesh. It includes the jacket, jeans, belt, and legwarmer/boot combo.  The jacket is beautiful, and the legwarmers are some of the cutest I have seen, with little daggers tied to the top.  Each item is 100% mesh in multiple sizes, and not only does it look amazing as an outfit, each piece looks awesome on it’s own.

The jeans and belt combo is quickly becoming a Moira wardrobe staple!  Here I’ve combined them with this cute t shirt I found at Foxy.  I’ve always loved the look of a pristine white tee and jeans, and these two are a perfect combination.  The top has a subtle, realistic texture, and the neckline gives lends just the right amount of daring.  These tees come in a 4 pack and include Physique, Maitreya, and Omega appliers for only $25 per set.

Rounding out my post this week are these amazing finds from Weaponized Sugar.  The Rudrum $1 eye package includes system and mesh eyes in two sizes and three light levels.  The eyes really pop, and the color is a pretty reddish brown.  I snagged the manicure with Slink and Omega appliers from a lucky board while I was there.  Don’t have mesh hands?  No problem!  Weaponized Sugar was awesome enough to set out free prim nails that will work with the manicures!  Several other gifts and $1 items are available in store, so this is a must stop.

Back In The Forest Where Whispers Persuade

Todays post is a wee bit darker than my previous ones but I can’t resist pulling a more gothic look out of the hat when you least expect it!

The post was inspired by the beautiful Ivory Fog Gown by TD Designs that you can find as a free gift at the FabFree HQ! It is a standard mesh gown and I love the shimmery look to the bodice which almost reminds me of a crows feather.

Her Etchaflesh Corset is Boudoir Fly…

Last week Precious Restless sent out a notice in the Boudoir Group (free to join) that there was a new member gift waiting for all their ghouls to grab…well this Wearable Giant Fly came along just in time…since my broom was in the shop for repairs.  Isn’t he fantastic?  I think I’ll call him Igor. ;p;p

Now, a girl can’t just get all dolled up with no place to go…so I headed straight for Journey to the Lost City which is the hauntingly spectacular build from Tymus Tenk and Truck Meredith…owners of the sublime Calas Galadhon sims.  If you haven’t been to these park sims…they are an absolute MUST SEE.  I can’t begin to tell you how incredibly detailed they are landscaped…Truck and Ty spend endless hours landscaping and decorating them for every season.  There is so much to explore and enjoy…and now they have this wonderful Halloween adventure…search for the golden idol in the castle and you will be admitted to the Lost City…just beware of the perils on the way!  I took my trusty Staff of Hatred from Wylde Arts ~WA~ on the Marketplace (not free, but half price @ 150L)…to cast dark rain on any rogue corpses.

She’s a Beetlebones Hamster Magician at the Etchaflesh Circus…

Most of you will recall that Trinket blogged about these adorable Dwarf Hamsters for the Arcade Gatcha Event.   I’ve seen these cute little critters all over the grid and meant to get back to the Arcade Event to score one…but it just didn’t happen.  While out and about gathering landmarks for items…I ended up in one of my favorite little stores…Beetlebones.  Suetabulous has a funky little place full of her whimsical, eclectic creations…and much to my surprise, I discovered that these hamsters were created by her!  She has a gatcha display board where you can still pay the 100L to take your chance on getting one of several different coat types (mine is Siberian Cocoa).  For that 100L you get the adorable avatar (it is mesh so you will need a mesh enabled viewer) AND a fabulous AO that just has the most adorable animations in it.  Sue also has a really cute Winter Bunny Avatar gatcha board for only 50L.

I also stumbled on the fun little [Etchaflesh/Virtual Props] Trick and Treats Hunt being hosted by the owners of [Etchaflesh] and Virtual Props & Poses.  You don’t have to join the group to participate in the hunt, but if you do…it is free to join; with frequent sales and perks.  [Etchaflesh] specializes in gorgeous mesh corsets and Virtual Props & Poses has a wide range of poses and props; unlike any I’ve seen around the grid.  Collect 25 candies on your Hunt HUD and redeem them at the prize kiosks for either corsets or a fun pose/prop pack…I chose the Magician pack; which comes with several hats (with and without doves), the wand, and several poses.  The best part is that the poses and props were compatible with my hamster avi…with just minor fitting of the hat and wand.  I also picked up the fabulous circus background texture at the hunt…in the Virtual Props & Poses store…for FREE!! Gotta just love that <3<3
