Let’s Go Fly a Kite!

It was so beautiful outside today that I grabbed my kite and took Nessie along for some playtime at the dog park. She was going a little stir crazy, and frankly so was I! This cute Carora dress was sent out to Hucci subscribers recently, and seemed perfect for a warm day at the park. It has a belt in “midnight” as well as the yellow one I’m wearing, and it comes in standard, as well as “curvy” mesh sizes. Falling Alphas, Snowflakes, and Petals

Yesterday sure was a crazy day on the grid, what with inventories loading slooowly, or not loading at all. I couldn’t change my clothes for hours, which is a fashion blogger’s nightmare, let me tell you. I logged off in frustration, and when I finally came back, all of my alpha layers had fallen off, making it look like I was wearing Swiss cheese… with holes in all the worst places! It immediately became clear to me that I really needed some underwear!

So I took a peek at the Marketplace for some undies, and found this pretty Snowflake Sparkle set by Eshi Otawara. It comes in both white and black, and best of all, is free! This skin with the gorgeous make-up is Glam Affair’s latest group gift, Amberly – Petal Edition – Melodia Red (check group notices). I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for fantasy skins, and I really love the vivid colors in this one. The Glam Affair group is 30L to join, and regularly sends out beautiful gift skins to members. Soleil, Candy, and Coco at the Beach

That title sounds like an exotic drink, and to be honest, I could really have used one today. For starters, it was Monday, and that should have been bad enough, right? Well, it wasn’t, and making matters worse, my car battery was DOA this morning, leaving me grounded for the day, and my dog left me a little “gift” on the carpet. Thankfully, I didn’t get any gum on my shoes like Love did, but I did run into a couple of doors. Sheesh! So the first chance I got, I grabbed my bag and headed out to the beach for a little peace and quiet.

Needing something comfy to wear, I slipped into this pretty, mesh maxi-dress, which is Prism’s Night of the Wolf Hunt gift (#87). Just perfect for strolling along a sunny SL beach in January.

In my “stressful day survival kit,” I have all the essentials for relaxing at the beach: water, sunscreen, my iPad, and a couple of fashion mags. The Ice Princess Cometh

This gorgeous gown will be yours when you find the Peace on Earth Hunt globe at Carriage Trade Miniature. Don’t let the name fool you; this dress is for full-sized avatars, not for miniatures. The main body of the dress comes in three mesh sizes, with the skirt and lace as non-mesh add-ons. I felt like a princess the moment I tried it on.

Navidad Flurries for Miss Candy Cane

Today was a great day for playing in the snow… and I’m so glad I had these snuggly group gifts from Tres Beau to keep me warm! For the past few days, Tres Beau has been putting “12 Days of Christmas” gifts under the tree, all of which should add up to about 5 different, complete outfits. This one included the mesh sweater and boots, leggings, mittens, and earmuffs. The gifts are free to group members, but there is a 100L fee to join the group. Gorgeous gifts are given to members throughout the year, so the fee is most definitely worth it! My necklace was yesterday’s advent gift from Virtual Impressions – gifts are for group members, but the group is free to join. Yikes, look at the time! I’d better get ready for my date tonight. Thank goodness this glittery gold outfit – including mesh leggings, blouse, and shoes – was also under the tree at Tres Beau! My hair is a previous advent gift from *Alice Project*, my earrings were a gift from Chop Zuey, and my Christmas Pearls eyes were a gift from Poetic Colors. Spring Flowers And Winter Berries

One of the wonderful things about Second Life is that when you tire of winter snow, there’s sure to be a warm-weather sim just a click away. I did a search for “garden” and wound up in this lovely, peaceful meadow – I feel like I’m in a Van Gogh painting. Look, I caught a butterfly!

This gorgeous floral gown was recently sent to Kungler’s group members (check your group notices or head over to the store to pick one up). That’s MISS Santa, Baby!

Santa has been working so hard and is under so much stress these days. To make matters worse, his cholesterol was waaay up at his checkup last month, and his doctor recommended that he get some exercise and cut back on the sweets. And you know Santa: that’s not going to be easy! So the elves and I keep trying to lure him outside for some fresh air – thankfully Santa can’t resist a good snowball fight!

The Many Facets of Prism

I’d like to join with Love in offering my deepest sympathies to all who were affected by today’s terrible tragedy in Connecticut. I have a little one at home myself, and I can’t even begin to comprehend what those parents and families must be going through right now. So very sad.

Sigh…

Many stores on the grid are quite generous with group gifts and hunt prizes, and Prism is certainly one of those stores. Every time I visit, I’m amazed at all the fabulous gifts. That almost never happens to me!

As much as I love dressing up for a party, I also enjoy relaxing in a comfy sweater and jeans. This Funky Christmas Tree Sweater is another group gift from Prism. I’ve slipped on the cute Bally flats from Lindy’s Peace on Earth Hunt prize (there’s also a pair of black heels in the box), and have taken off my lip gloss, so you can see my skin in it’s pristine state.
