FLEUR (formerly Tete a Pied) gives out as a “Thank You Joining the Update Group” a gift card worth 500 Linden to buy one of the absolutely amazing skins. But hurry, it lasts only for 1 week! What`s to do:
Do a search in groups for the group called Fleur. (When I do a group search I use the phrase fleur and it is the 2nd choice). Join this group. It is free to join. Go to the Notices. Sort the Notices by date. Go to the one dated 02/16/2008 with the subject Thank you ….. Click Open Attachment. You´ve got an important landmark! And it couldn´t harm to read the notice!
Now make sure your FLEUR group tag is activated and tp over to the landmark. There`s a gift vendor at your landingpoint outside the store. You have to stand in front of this vendor, click it and you will get a 500 Linden gift card. Wear it! Step into the store, look around and buy the skin (choose “card”) you like most. Enjoy this generous gift!
You have to be patient because there´s a lot of lag. The skin I´ve bought and I`m wearing in the picture is TaP Vivant Cream Lustrous 1.
Let´s come to the outfits – I picked up 2 tips from the hotline (thanks to LadyDawn Starbrook and Cyn Vandeverre!) and tped over to La Bicyclette at Port Caledon. There I found free court bow and curtsy gestures and a free bustle bow but no dresses or shoes. For all this I went to La Bicyclette at Caledon Eyre and now I was able to buy the lovely embroidered shoes for 1 Linden (at the entrance in a box) and the victorian bicycling outfits (inside the store under the window). In the picture I´m wearing the green and yellow Spring Outfit.
The Commons, Victorian and Steampunk Shopping, is located a few steps away from La Bicyclette. Outside the big building (a wide place with cobblestones and a fountain) there is a table with freebies. I have decided to take the Regency Picnic Dress which is for free. And I will love this dress forever, seriously! I would have never thought that, because it is not my style at all! EDIT: Regency Picnic Dress is made by Jacquelin Seisenbacher, owner of Kleineschwein Designs, about a block east of the telehub in Caledon Eyre.
At least I ended up at Vandeverre`s Emporium. The sign didn´t let me buy the Valentine shirts (maybe they are gone, I´m late) but I found a Grey Silk Day Dress with an amazing silk texture. It´s a Victorian Outfit based on an extant silk tunic from 1100. Take the time to read the notecard. Also, there´s a free Black&Gold Uniform Set (not shown).

Hi Hazel — the sign is just a sign; the freebie is on the second floor. Sorry for the confusion!
OUCH!
Group Gift Card Giveaway Suspended
Sun Feb 17 06:20:45 2008
Due to issues with the gift card vendor, we have had to suspend the give away.
[...] Fabulously Free in SL Ride THE BYCICLETTE at VANDEVERRE´s Emporium wearing a FLEUR Quote from the site – FLEUR (formerly Tete a Pied) gives out as a “Thank You Joining the Update [...]
Apparently some people were taking advantage of the generosity of the designers from Fleur and taking more than their share of gift cards. They have suspended this promotion until they can fix the issue so only 1 gift card is given per person.
Note to those who took advantage: Shame on you!
“Fleur is open again – We handled over 1500 people in the first 24 hours! All gift cards will be honoured, but for the time being we will not be giving out any more due to the huge load it put on the sim causing glitches. Thanks for being patient, and sorry to anyone who didn’t get the chance at the free gift this time around. There’ll be more from us in the future of course! CJ”

Hi Cyn,
seems as I was totally confused yesterday *lol* And I should not searching for freebies in the early morning, it was about 2 a.m. here in Austria. I will check out the free shirts another time. But what I found was amazing. Thank you!

The generosity of a designer to give out 500 Linden for free, ohnly for joining the group (also if you can leave the group immediately after getting your gift!) is something for what we should be very very grateful!
If I had known before how shameless a few people will be, I never ever have mentioned this in the blog. And in this case I have to overthink if it is worth at all to write about freebies. To take adavantage of something or someone … that’s not really what was intended …. well, however.
Sorry for my bad english, hope you know what I mean …… at the moment I´m really mad at the outrageously behaviour … and a bit sad and disappointed
Thank you for the kind comments! I have to admit, when over a year ago when I started making “Victorian Activewear”, I honestly never really thought anyone other than a few eccentric Victorians would be interested. Thematically, I’ve branched off into the vehicle and equestrian side of things, but I am still fond of that old freebie cycling outfit (interesting article for anyone interested in the cultural implications of bicycling outfits: http://www.annielondonderry.com/womenWheels.html)
But credit where credit is due, that lovely Picnic Dress you like so much is the creation of my friend Jacquelin Seisenbacher. Sadly, she forgot to put her LM in the freebies! Well, we all have our blonde moments, so if you are back in the neighborhood, don’t miss Kleineschwein Designs, about a block east of the telehub in Caledon Eyre.
Virginia, you´r welcome and we all have to thank you
Victorian dresses are not what I usually wear but they are amazing and well done. Sometimes something deep inside me is longing for “the good old days” and wearing these clothes I will get back the past a bit
Of course, I edit my post about the Picnic Dress by Jacqueline Seisenbacher!
